Chapter 1310

Mrs. York looked at Manie’s joyous face, free from any signs of dejection, and breathed a sigh of relief. Curious, she asked, "What good news do you have?"

Manie replied, "Mom, I never expected that Liam Locke is a genius. I’ve listened to his lectures for only about twenty minutes this afternoon, and now I can solve these difficult problems that have been troubling for a long ti."

"Liam Locke?" Mrs. York furrowed her eyebrows, wondering how his na ca up.

"Yes, he is not as useless and weak as I imagined. He has invented many things, he is far better than ."

Seeing the shining light in her daughter’s eyes, Mrs. York’s heart fluttered anxiously as she quickly asked: "Manie, tell , you’ve newly developed feelings for Liam Locke, haven’t you?"

Manie’s face changed, and she promptly turned away: "No way! I’m not soone who falls in love easily!"

Mrs. York beca worried by her reaction.

This wasn’t "a guilty person gives himself away by conspicuously protesting his innocence", right?

"Didn’t you say it’s hard? Wasn’t it imdiate when you had a crush on Alexander Foster? I think you just fall in love with whoever you et."

Manie blushed: "I have not! I just admire his talents and complinted him a few tis!"

"Then why won’t you face when you speak?" Mrs. York asked.

"I did not,"

Mrs. York grew more worried.

She had seen it all before and understood her daughter’s reactions. Her feelings had probably changed without her realizing it.

"Now we have a problem. Suppose you’ve fallen for Liam Locke, how are we going to explain it to Goldasia? You traveled a great distance to cancel a marital engagent before, which already upset them. This has also caused our dostic oil cooperation with them to not go smoothly; we’ve been kept on a leash because of all these."

Manie frowned: "How can these issues be combined? My personal matters are my own, and national affairs are national affairs. How can they refuse to cooperate just because I canceled the engagent?"

Mrs. York explained: "Not everyone can distinguish as clearly as you, the state banquet is approaching. The King assigned the Oil Case to your grandfather and father to resolve, and they are still discussing strategies. The situation was already tense, and a contract could have been signed, but things have been delayed since the arrival of the Second Prince. I suspect it was due to the misunderstanding between you and Liam Locke that day, which upset them and prompted the King to suddenly assign us the case, asking us to sort it out."

This explanation silenced Manie. She acknowledged her responsibility. After thinking for a while, she said, "Then I’ll go find Liam Locke. I’ll convince him; as long as he agrees, it should be enough, right?"

Mrs. York was surprised: "You’re going to ask a favor from Liam Locke?"

Her daughter had never been one to easily beg others.

Manie picked up the scroll and looked at it, a smile in the corner of her mouth: "Let try."

Mrs. York quickly relayed Manie’s plan to the Master, but it was not approved.

He learned that Liam Locke had autism; he was a patient, and he would never place his hope in a sick man.

As the night deepened, the three generations of grandfather, father, and daughter were still in a eting. With the Master leading and the n of the York family and Jerry River sitting by his side, they continued the discussion.

After a long ti, Mr. York proposed, "To my understanding, Goldasia also has requests for our country. If both parties can reach an agreent, it would be most beneficial for everyone to gain what they need."

"Speak up, what do they want?"
