Chapter 1251

"That was indeed the young miss. I wouldn’t have made a mistake."

Upon hearing this, Jerry River felt a burning sensation in his hand, he held the ancient sword unwillingly to let go.

He clung to the ancient sword and pondered. Speaking to himself, he said, "She has no reason to appease . Could it be that she knows this thing isn’t real?"

His eyes rolled, revealing sharp intelligence.

He thought for a long while, without giving up the ancient sword in his hand. Every ti he wanted to let go, he couldn’t do it when he glanced at that sword.

After careful consideration, he said, "paying would be enough."

He smiled, imdiately deciding to transfer three hundred thousand dollars from his account to Chloe Collins.

However, within one hour of completing the transfer, the money was returned to his account.

Another hour passed, which happened to be lunchti. The maid reported that Chloe Collins sent soone over to collect sothing, saying that she had accidentally left a box here in the morning and hoped that he could return it.

As a token of appreciation for keeping it for a few hours, she also sent over several bottles of grape wine, each valued in five figures.

Since morning, Jerry River had been holding onto the sword, his hands never leaving it, even dancing with it in the courtyard, expressing his love for it.

The mont he heard that the other party ca to reclaim the sword, his heart ached as if it had been gouged out.

"Invite her in, I want to have a chat with her."

The servant brought in a man. However, it wasn’t Chloe Collins, but the courier she had sent to retrieve the item.

"Sir, please hand over the item in your arms to ."

The courier held a photo, his gaze focused on the longsword cradled in Jerry’s arms.

Jerry swallowed, wanting to speak up, but couldn’t find the right words. Indeed, the item wasn’t his, and it was not right to hoard it.

He slowly handed over the Azure Sword, but he couldn’t let go.

The courier forcefully pulled it, "Sir, please let go!"

With one strong tug, he pulled the sword out, breathed a sigh of relief, put it in the box, and carried it away.

The courier left, taking with him Jerry’s heart.

He sat dispiritedly in the hall, his eyes lost and his right hand still maintaining the position as if gripping a sword.

The maid was worried, "Master, Master?"

Jerry’s unfocused gaze slowly ca into focus, as he muttered, "That was the sword I handled the best, truly a famous sword, indeed a famous sword..."

Maid, "???"

"Master, your lunch is getting cold."

"Take it away; I’m not in the mood to eat."

The maid was taken aback, this had never happened before.

Throughout the afternoon, Jerry sat in the hall in a daze, seemingly suffering from the pain of love.

The Yorks’ house.

Upon hearing that a feast was being organized for the York and Collins families, Master York decided to attend it personally to et Chloe Collins.

Manie York disagreed with this and was throwing a tantrum.

"Miss, we need to leave in less than an hour. Please get dressed quickly," the nursemaid pleaded, holding a beautiful dress in her hand.

Manie York pouted, "If Grandfather goes, I won’t."

"Manie, don’t be stubborn," Mrs. York ca in, followed by two maids carrying jewellery.

"Mom, please persuade Grandfather. Why does he need to go? I don’t want others to think I’m bullying the weak!"

"I know you don’t want to rely on the family, but this matter is different. It involves your lifelong matters. Let your Grandfather go and take a look, he is experienced after all."

"So you think I can’t handle Chloe Collins on my own?" She scowled.
