Albert Green was quite surprised to receive this call, after all, Alexander Foster wouldn’t contact him for no reason.
He had just gotten into his car, ready to go ho, when he answered the call. Holding the steering wheel, he slowly drove out of the base’s main gate.
"Mr. Foster, has sothing happened? Why are you calling so late?"
"There’s sothing."
"It’s about Chlo-Chlo, right? Go ahead."
The car headlights illuminated the deserted rural concrete road, the speed of the car gradually increased.
A calm male voice ca from the phone: "Mr. Green, are there things you haven’t told about Chlo-Chlo’s health?"
Screech--
The sound of the brakes abruptly echoed.
The car suddenly stopped at the roadside. The surrounding area was silent, exuding an eerie feeling.
Not only was it the night, but also Alexander Foster’s words made Albert Green’s heart extrely restless, which was calm just monts ago.
"Why would you ask that?"
"It seems there is sothing." Alexander Foster’s voice revealed heaviness, "Please tell ."
Albert Green sighed, simply took off his headset, and picked up the phone directly to hear.
"I didn’t feel it was necessary to tell you about this. Moreover, Chlo-Chlo has always asked to keep it a secret. I hope you understand."
Alexander Foster was silent for a few seconds, then brought up another matter: "Last ti she passed out from drug testing, I saw her test results. I just want to confirm them with you."
Albert Green felt like he was being tricked, but he rembered that last ti Alexander Foster had indeed seen the test results in the laboratory.
He sighed lightly, "Based on her situation, it’s not really a big deal, it won’t endanger her life."
A slight sigh of relief ca from the other end of the line.
An idea suddenly occurred to Albert Green, so he decided to test this man’s heart.
"Although it won’t endanger her life, for a woman, it is a huge regret."
"Please continue."
Albert Green paused, then said slowly, "She almost never has a period. The last ti she had one was a year ago, and it only lasted half a day. She hasn’t ntioned it since. Theoretically, her ability to bear children has been blocked. Unless the problem is solved from the root, it will remain like this for the rest of her life."
There was a dead silence at the other end.
But Albert Green opened the floodgates and couldn’t help but continue, "Aren’t you curious why she keeps refusing to be with you? Perhaps this is part of the answer. Our Chlo-Chlo doesn’t like to put pressure on others. She won’t agree to you rashly before deciding to reveal such things."
"I see, thank you."
After he said this, a busy signal ca from the other end.
Albert Green felt very heavy-hearted, he could feel Alexander Foster’s sudden change in atmosphere. It seed like he had suddenly been crushed by a thousand pound weight, making him unable to breathe.
This matter was also a huge stone that had been pressing on his heart for many years. He always wanted to change it, but there was never any effect.
He sat silently with his hand on his forehead for a while, before driving back ho.
The nightfall beca increasingly dense.
The Fosters’ residence.
Evelyn Thompson paced back and forth at the doorway, finally seeing Alexander Foster return.
"Alex, you’ve finally returned. What did your grandfather talk to you about? He didn’t look quite right."
"Did he tell you to try things out with Manie York?" Evelyn Thompson furrowed her brows.
Originally, she was not in such a solemn mood, but now seeing Alexander Foster’s unusual expression and a rare, subtle dispersion in his eyes, as if his soul had been hooked away.
"Did he? Would you say sothing?"
Alexander Foster’s gaze focused, "It’s nothing, go rest."
"What do you an nothing? I can tell sothing definitely happened. What did your grandfather say?"
"Whatever he said, it will not change my decision. You don’t need to worry."
Leaving that sentence behind, he walked towards the adjacent room.
