Leaving that remark behind, Mane York turned and went downstairs.
A girl followed closely behind, her eyes twinkling with gossip and mirth. "Manie, I just checked the forum again, and you’re still leading the vote as number one. You’re over 300 votes ahead of her now."
Mane’s face didn’t indicate any particular pleasure; her voice was neutral, "We will find out who’s the winner at the Newcors’ party."
Last year, she had won by over 3000 votes. Now, being only 300 votes ahead seed insignificant.
"I just saw on our group chat--- the leaders of the three performances from our college have already been decided. Aside from you and the activist, it’s her."
The activist was a boy from the Microelectronics major who dived headfirst into various activities from the mont he arrived at university, and was on good terms with both the newcors and the seniors within a week. Hence, he was leading one of the performances this ti.
After hearing this, Mane seed indifferent, "Oh, really? Initially, I wanted soone to ask her to join my team, but it seems like there’s no need anymore."
The girl chuckled," There’s no way she could be on our team! Don’t you know how fiercely the forum is buzzing about you two? Even so teachers are anonymously defending you there. Clearly, we’ve all split into two factions now. If both of you were to put up a performance together, what would be left to anticipate at the Newcors’ Party?
Manie gave a noncommittal smile, without saying a word.
The scene from the day she bumped into Chloe Collins and her friends at the canteen crossed her mind.
She walked hesitantly down the stairs, her mind buzzing with thoughts. Suddenly, she rembered sothing, a startling discovery, and almost stumbled.
The girl beside her steadied her, "Be careful."
Manie snapped back to the present, "You can go and et the others first. I have sothing to do."
"Aren’t you joining us today? We’re selecting group mbers, you won’t be involved?"
"No, you guys can handle it. We will win after all."
The girl replied with a smile, "That’s true, considering competing talents, who could surpass you? Let go first, then."
Manie waved at her and turned to leave first.
As she walked towards the parking lot, she placed a call.
"Dad, it’s . Didn’t you tell once that grandpa has an old comrade from the war in Grearon? What’s his surna again?"
"Foster."
"Foster? Are you sure?"
"Of course, I’m sure. During the war, your grandpa and Grandpa Foster were enemies. But they inadvertently saved each other’s lives and beca bosom friends. After the war, both sides kept in touch. However, your grandpa has been less mobile in his old age, and contact has waned in recent years."
"Does he have a grandson nad Alexander Foster?"
"Oh, my daughter is interested in a man now? Weren’t you talking about finding your Grim all the ti, huh? Have you given up on that and moved on to soone else?"
Manie pouted and gave a mysterious smile, "Secret!"

The club recruitnt event that lasts over a week is still ongoing. Tents or booths have been set up around the square as recruitnt points.
Occupying central spots are the Student Council and the Club Association, two large organizations that had no shortage of interested applicants.
Other clubs, however, had to recruit a certain number of new mbers and complete the set objectives in order to maintain their status, otherwise, their clubs could be disbanded.
At present, many clubs were still struggling to et their recruitnt numbers. Seniors stood at the entrances of each club waving flags to attract attention.
As soon as Chloe Collins arrived, she was swept into a tight hug by Layla Lowell, who pecked her on each cheek.
