Chapter 1090

anwhile, Alexander Foster had just completed an urgent task, and a group of people were leaving the conference room.

He sent a text ssage to Chloe Collins on his smartphone before heading back to his office.

Just as he sat down, he fell deep in thought, and after a while, asked Maurice Willis who was next to him.

"How did you spend your graduation trip?"

Maurice Willis: "Uh... I worked."

"Leaving that aside, boss, there’s sothing urgent that needs your attention."

Alexander glanced over at him.

Maurice Willis showed him a post on his smartphone.

"This was sent to by a university friend of mine. Apparently, a post has appeared on our alma mater’s forum... looking for you."

Alexander took the phone to inspect it more closely.

Indeed, there was a post on Capitol University’s forum looking for soone, and the face in the attached photo was his.

The photo had been taken earlier in the day at the university canteen.

Title: Looking for a person. If you have any information, please ssage the thread creator directly. Generous reward provided.

"The thread has already sparked discussions downstairs. Quite a few people know it’s you." Maurice Willis chuckled, "My friend just texted to verify if it was you."

Alexander’s expression stiffened slightly, clearly uninteresting, simply said, "Get soone to remove the post."

Maurice Willis nodded, noticing the displeasure on his boss’s face, probed, "boss, are you considering taking Miss Collins out for so fun?"

Alexander gave him a glance but said nothing.

Maurice Willis offered, "I do have a suggestion. If you’re unable to take ti off, why don’t you invite Miss Collins to work at our company in so nominal role. Firstly, it allows her to experience working life a bit sooner. Secondly, boss, you can use this as a pretext to see her every day. And as for going out and having fun, anywhere you want to go, isn’t it up to you to decide? What do you think?"

Maurice Willis grinned to curry his favor.

Alexander rested his forehead on his fingers, gazed at him in silence for a couple of seconds, then said, "Get back to work."

Maurice Willis’s smile faltered slightly, "Oh."

After sitting in silence for a while, Alexander checked his smartphone and saw a ssage from Chloe Collins on the ssaging app -- it was a picture of temple food.

After thinking for a while, he sent her a ssage.

[Job Opportunity]

Position: President’s Assistant

Job Content: Dine and unwind

Working hours: Flexible

Job Requirent: Presence of Chloe Collins

Salary: All assets under Alexander Foster.

After sending the ssage, he silently waited, his finger resting on the screen of his smartphone.

Two minutes passed and there was no response.

Three minutes passed, still no movent.

Four minutes passed, still no reply.

So ti later, he saw a status update from Chloe Collins from two minutes ago on his ssaging app’s circle of friends.

So...

Did she choose to ignore it?

The man’s breath grew slightly heavier as he continued to stare at the phone without moving.

Maurice Willis knocked on the door and reminded him that an important al eting was about to start, and he needed to be present.

"Alright."

As he answered, he put away his phone and got up to leave.

That day, Chloe Collins stayed overnight at the temple without coming down the mountain. In fact, she spent three consecutive days on the mountain, and her circle of friends updates were all from inside the temple.

Her posts contained no text, but a solid dot symbol, followed by mostly pictures of various activities inside the temple.

Alexander would ssage her, and she would reply, but she hadn’t answered that job post of his.

At two in the afternoon that day, Alexander checked his phone during a break, and still, there was no related reply.

At that mont, there was a knock at the door.

He looked up, only to see a girl leaning lazily in the doorway.

She was wearing a black cap, a white shirt, khaki trousers, with a small backpack hooked on her shoulder, giving off a slightly rebellious teenage vibe.

"Hello, I’m here for work," she said.

Alexander was silent, but a pleased smile quickly spread across his face.

He checked his watch and feigned seriousness, "You’re late."

"Oh, is there a penalty?" Chloe Collins raised her brows slightly.

"Yes."
