Chapter 1050
A tender and soft feminine voice echoed, sounding very immature.
Chloe Collins didn’t show any surprise, standing still.
The secretary lady approached, brushing past an employee who was leaving with files in their arms.
"Miss Nolan, Miss Collins is here."
Raine Nolan turned her head, glanced at Chloe Collins distantly, then withdrew her gaze to focus on the computer screen: "Oh."
The secretary lady spoke to Chloe Collins, "Miss Collins, starting today, your position will be the supervisor’s assistant. Miss Nolan will be responsible for arranging your tasks and you should follow her instructions. Now, I must go get busy."
She gave a small nod with a smile, then opened the door and left.
Only the two of them were left in the forty-sothing square ter office.
Chloe Collins casually sauntered to a side and sat down. She picked up a magazine from the side and started to read. It was a financial magazine.
"Did I ask you to sit?" Raine Nolan’s indifferent voice drifted over.
Without looking in her direction, she continued, "Even though you are my cousin, this is a company, and I am your superior. We must separate personal feelings from business. I won’t be biased."
There was no response.
Only then did Raine Nolan slowly raise her head to look at the girl sitting on the couch.
The girl was engrossed in a book, as if she was totally unaffected by Raine’s words.
"Chloe Collins, your superior is talking to you. Are you playing deaf?"
"..."
Raine Nolan felt a little irritated but quickly cald herself.
She reminded herself that she held a higher position. She would have ample opportunities to take her frustration out.
"It’s almost teati. Go ask everyone in our departnt what they want to drink, then order the food. I will cover the cost."
Chloe Collins rose to her feet.
"Right." Raine Nolan suddenly added. She lazily said, "Inform them that there will be a brief eting later."
"Also, the cup here is dirty. Since you are leaving, take it with you and wash it."
Chloe Collins glimpsed at the dirty cup set, walked over, picked them up, and left with them.
What great satisfaction surged within Raine Nolan!
She lowered her head and sent a ssage to Rosalind Taylor.
[Mom, this position is too invigorating! It’s the source of my joy this sumr vacation!]
[Rosalind Taylor: Don’t just focus on having fun. Keep an eye on her and pay attention to any moves she might make.]
[What can she possibly do? Haha! She’s just a newbie to the professional world.]
[Rosalind Taylor: I didn’t want to tell you this, but seeing how you are, I have no choice. The team in the Research and Developnt Departnt are people she brought in. We let her intern here to see if she’s plotting anything. I’ve already arranged for soone to watch her, but you can’t be careless. If you see her with people from the Research and Developnt Departnt, pay extra attention.]
Raine Nolan tapped her fingers against the phone cover, reluctantly replying with an affirmative.
She hadn’t considered that level.
Now that she was idle, she played a ga.
After a while, she was bored, so she logged in to a social dia group chat.
This group was for Capitol University’s special students, currently including eight newcors.
In addition, there were also seniors from previous years.
There were dozens of mbers, all the crè de la crè.
She had only joined the group a few days ago, with the nickna "Raine Nolan".
A lot of people proactively reached out to her, and she had quite a few chats.
At that mont, the topic in the group was for newcors to share their photos, with the other eight newcors all hesitating.
She didn’t join in the conversation, but scrolled to see that many people had actually posted their photos.
Their appearances were fairly average, but the seniors were kind and praised everyone.
