Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Who is the Man Who Brought You Back?

As she passed the entrance hall, she determined the location of Alexander Foster by the direction of his scent - the staircase entrance.

In the dimly lit space, a tall man leaned against the wall, his head drooping, his long legs slightly bent. He was utterly motionless, as if asleep.

But no one who was asleep could stand so steadily.

She languidly walked over and reached out, resting her hand near his shoulder.

With a click, the light on the stairs turned on, casting a dim, orange ray. It shone on the handso face of the man, illuminating the clarity in his eyes.

There was no trace of sleepiness.

So, he wasn’t asleep.

Chloe Collins calmly t his gaze, asking, "Why didn’t you turn on the light?"

A hint of unknowable emotion swirled in the man’s eyes as he casually said, "Just ca in."

His deep and llow voice, laced with a hint of hoarseness, gave these simple three words an ambiguous touch.

Despite his nonchalant gaze, he couldn’t hide the sharpness inherited in his bones. His raw scrutiny leaked out unconsciously.

Chloe found it interesting. She tilted her head slightly, studying him with a smile. "Sothing to say?"

The man suddenly lowered his head, leaning in slightly. Half of his handso face was illuminated by the warm light, the other half in shadow.

His black pupils were focused on Chloe’s eyes unblinkingly.

From his thin lips, a few words were carefully spoken, "I have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder."

Chloe’s face remained expressionless. "And so?"

His voice was light and emotionless. "Without my permission, others are not allowed to enter this house, including... his scent."

Chloe lifted her chin, her playful and fearless gaze eting his head-on. "What does that have to do with ?"

His eyes narrowed slightly, his arm suddenly pressing against the wall next to her ear, preventing her from looking away. He let out a small laugh, questioning, "Who was the man who brought you back just now? Huh?"

Chloe was silent, calmly examining him. Suddenly, she smiled, "Are you...jealous?"

Under the warm yellow light, her smile blood freely on her flawless face.

The man’s expression paused, his gaze slightly unfocused.

So much so that when Chloe whispered sothing in his ear, he didn’t hear.

After she finished speaking, her fingers teasingly tugged at his earlobe.

"Goodnight," she playfully said, then turned and headed towards her room.

Alexander squinted his eyes, slowly realizing the words embedded in what she had said: "Your ears are really red."

At this mont, Ford, who had been standing silently in the corner of the entrance hall, ca forward.

He was holding several urgently processed docunts, his face full of joy.

"Young Master, it seems... you’ve been flirted with by a young girl."

He ca forward with a grin, "Young Master, it turns out, you’re quite innocent."

Alexander cast him a cold glance, "What is it?"

"Oh, you forgot, didn’t you ask

to deliver so docunts earlier? Maybe you were distracted by sothing else and forgot about it?"

Alexander took the docunts and glanced at them, "Mr. Ford, are you planning to retire early?"

Ford had no choice but to keep quiet.

The next morning.

Chloe Collins got up a little later than usual, awakened by the sll of cooked rice.

Upon getting up and arriving at the living room, she saw Alexander Foster standing in the kitchen.

Was he....cooking?

Chloe Collins squinted her eyes, moving a few steps to view him from the side.

She caught sight of him pulling out two eggs from a basket.

"Fried or boiled?" he asked without turning around, his voice as calm as water.

Chloe pressed her lips together, "Are you making it for ?"

The man still didn’t turn around, "Just by the way."
