Chapter 529: Chapter 529: His Heart Aches
Chapter 529
Those nas were all mbers of Fire. He had investigated them before and found out that they were indeed from the Dark Alliance.
Therefore, the accuracy of this list was very high.
He scanned the list but didn’t see Chloe Collins’ na.
"So, did you find it?"
Alexander Foster closed the list: "Who destroyed the remaining part?"
"The previous leader made a mistake, causing so losses to Gate Three, and that part of the information was just a very small part. Because of this, he was dismissed, and I took his place." He joked.
Alex didn’t know about it. After leaving, he only found out that the leader of Gate Three had switched on a certain day.
He closed the video.
After removing his mask, he sat down in deep thought.
Previously, he had always refrained from investigating Chloe’s past, mainly because he wanted to wait for her to confide in him voluntarily. However, after hearing her talk about her past with Yuhan last night, he imdiately thought of the trials that the Dark Alliance put the newcors through.
The Dark Alliance was an ancient organization. Since the olden days, various major powers have gradually joined together to establish such a strong organization, with influence extending across the globe, so as to achieve mutual checks and balances and protection.
Fast forward to the present, it has grown very large in scale, with a clear organizational structure. The five continents each have an Alliance Leader, who, in turn, manages several Hall Masters. Hall Masters are divided by region, with each person in charge of twelve other Hall Masters. Below them, there are various smaller organizations, complex and ever-changing.
In theory, such a dark and complex organization should have nothing to do with a young girl like her.
Moreover, her na wasn’t on the list they had just seen, so he probably worried too much.
However, he couldn’t shake the strong feeling that was nagging at his heart.
As he was thinking, his mobile phone suddenly vibrated.
[We investigated it. Last night, there were a total of eight rcenaries. Four on the plane, one on the ground. Later, the person on the ground heard that soone from Group 3 took the order, so he withdrew.]
[Alexander Foster: Which Group 3?]
[Not sure, just know it’s a girl.]
Alex frowned.
He hadn’t co into contact with anyone from the Dark Alliance at the hospital last night.
Soon, his subordinate sent another ssage.
[Mr. Foster: There’s new information. All the people in Group 3 within the Aseatic Alliance denied taking the order. Soone must have impersonated a Dark Alliance mber and fooled the rcenary away.]
Alex put down his phone, thinking that if he could deceive the rcenary, he must be very familiar with the Dark Alliance.
A girl who would protect him.
He couldn’t think of anyone other than Chloe Collins.
Furthermore, she had arrived at the hospital with Robert Foster last night, yet she took several minutes longer to enter the hospital ward.
Taking all this into consideration, he felt certain about his guess.
She had been to that dangerous place in the Dark Alliance.
At this thought, his heart suddenly ached.
He sat in his chair, deep in thought, for a long ti.
Maybe they had once brushed past each other, unaware of each other’s presence.

When Chloe returned from school, she discovered a basketful of furry little puppies in her room.
Each of them nestled in a warm blanket, eyes closed, making it impossible not to find them adorable.
She instantly abandoned the papers her teacher had assigned her, squatting down and gently poking the puppies’ faces with her fingers.
"They’re so cute..."
She picked up one after another, waking them all up, causing them to run around in all directions from the basket.
Chloe played with them happily.
She let Milk Candy out too, leaving the room filled with little critters running around.
Alex stood on the stairs, silently watching the scene.
Her smiling face brought so relief to his aching heart.
