Chapter 431: Chapter 431: She Crouches Behind the Wall and Peeks Out
Chapter 431
After making up her mind, she asked her horoom teacher for a leave of absence, left the school, and quickly went back to the Collins’ house to get the perfu sample.
She had to put the sample in Chloe Collins’ room as soon as possible to feel at ease.
At the sa ti, Chloe was in the classroom, listening to the Literary Committee mber of the desk in front of her promoting the "All Living Things" perfu.
"Chloe, you really have to listen to
this ti and buy this! Seriously! It’s so good, I’m not lying to you. Redolence has three series out, and I bought all of them. Among the high-end ones, the ’All Living Things’ is the best. I heard they’re still in a PK sales race, you should go buy it too."
Chloe’s mouth gently lifted, forming a faint smile: "Alright."
Seeing her respond, the Literary Committee mber beca even more excited: "I really want to et the person who developed this perfu. I heard it’s a team, a very powerful team. So people said the leader of the team suddenly resigned and no one had any hope for them, but they’re still so amazing."
Chloe found it a bit noisy; this girl was a chatterbox and could talk all day.
At that mont, her phone vibrated, and the Literary Committee mber stopped talking before turning to find soone else to chat with.
Chloe picked up her phone and saw a ssage from Mrs. Carson.
[Miss Collins, I’m sorry for the sudden visit. My husband and I are currently in the Capitol, and we hope to et with you. You can choose the ti, what do you think, is it convenient?]
She didn’t reply and closed the ssage interface.
Soon, the class bell rang, and Mrs. Carson did not send any more ssages.
On the other side, Raine Nolan had already rushed back to the Collins’ house and was rummaging through her room.
Rosalind Taylor heard the noise and ca to see what was happening.
"Raine? Why are you ho at this hour?"
Raine jumped in fright, quickly turning her head to look at the figure: "Mom... I, uh, I suddenly forgot to bring my school badge, so I ca back to get it. We need it for an important event later."
She casually picked up the badge on her chest and showed it to Rosalind Taylor.
Rosalind looked suspicious: "You didn’t take it this morning?"
Raine forced a smile on her pale face: "Yeah, I’ll get going now, Mom."
With that, she rushed out, not even bothering to close the door behind her.
Rosalind thought for a mont and went to the spot where Raine had been standing earlier, rummaging through the area.
Suddenly, she saw a ball of paper under the bed.
She picked it up, unfolded it, and took a look.
With just a glance, her face changed drastically.

After leaving the Collins’ house, Raine took a cab to the Fosters’.
As soon as she got out of the car, she recited the line she had practiced many tis to the security guard at the gate.
"I’m here to pick up sothing for Miss Cherry."
After a mont of thought, the security guard let her in.
Since she often visited the Fosters’, the security guard deed her as soone who did not need to be stopped.
Raine nervously entered and quickly made her way to the East wing when no one was paying attention.
She already knew that at this ti of day, the Fosters’ house was at its quietest.
Those who needed to work were at work, and those who needed to be at school were at school. Only the Master and the ladies of the East and West Wings were left.
The Master was usually busy writing or painting, so he wouldn’t co out and walk around; the two ladies might go out for tea or shopping with other rich wives.
So, this was the safest ti for her to co.
She didn’t slow down at all during the few minutes it took her to reach her destination, jogging all the way to the East Wing Gate.
The door was not locked, and there were maids doing their daily cleaning.
She crouched behind the wall, peeking out and waiting for the cleaning staff to leave.
Then, she quickly ran inside.
