Chapter 136: Chapter 136: Accidental Encounter
Chapter 136
Chloe Collins arrived at the doorway of the residential area and let Heijii off work.
She carried the food for the party inside. Just then, two people walked by, chatting with each other.
At first, she didn’t pay attention to them until one of them called her na.
She turned her head and saw a familiar face.
It was Edgar Foster, the Third Young Master of the Fosters, Cherry Foster’s brother, whom she had just t a couple of days ago.
He had just returned from France the night before his grandfather’s birthday.
When he called her na, his tone was questioning, obviously not yet completely sure it was her.
Chloe didn’t say anything, just gave him a slight nod as a greeting, and then continued walking forward.
"Mr. Alan, do you know this girl?"
Edgar Foster: "Oh, she’s a relative of ours. What’s she doing here?"
As Chloe entered the room with the passcode, the person inside was tidying up.
"Wow, you arrived so soon." The person inside spoke broken Chinese.
This person was a Frenchman, blond-haired and blue-eyed, tall and lanky, and about 15 years older than Chloe.
Chloe placed the items on the table and raised her eyebrows, "Where’s the wine?"
The stranger laughed and went to the wine cabinet, taking out two bottles of wine and shaking them, "We won’t leave until we’re drunk."
The stranger was very bold, and they kept drinking one bottle after another. At first, the wine glasses were sowhat useful, but later, they just drank straight from the bottle and enjoyed themselves.
"I didn’t get to drink you under the table last ti, but you won’t be so lucky this ti." The stranger had a wild look in her eyes.
Chloe raised her eyebrows slightly, clinked her bottle with the stranger’s, said nothing, and started drinking.
At the sa ti, at the Fosters’ residence, it was dinner ti.
As soon as Edgar Foster returned ho, he joined his family for dinner. Everyone was sitting neatly at the dining table, looking at their phones, while the servants were setting the dishes.
As Edgar sat down, Sophia Ford asked, "Where have you been? You ca back so late."
Edgar glanced at his older brother and said grimly, "Camille has arrived in Grearon, so I went to say hello."
His brother looked at him in surprise, "You actually invited her?"
Edgar’s face was smug, "Why would I lie to you?"
Sophia Ford was amazed, "Alan, did you really invite that amazing Perfur here?"
Edgar Foster took a sip of water and smirked, "It wasn’t easy to invite her. I made a lot of effort to persuade her to co. She’s now staying at the Splendent Garden in Eastvale. She has already signed the cooperation agreent and will start working at the Company tomorrow."
His brother was sowhat displeased. This person was a graduate of the world’s most prestigious perfury school and had even worked there for several years as a Teacher—an undoubtedly accomplished individual.
When he had tried to invite her previously, she had ignored him and was not attracted by fa or fortune. No matter how much money was offered, she had refused to co.
Hearing that his younger brother had managed to invite her, he couldn’t help but express his dissatisfaction sarcastically, "She does have so skills, but calling her the best is a bit of a stretch. There are always people beyond people and mountains beyond mountains, don’t you think? No matter how skilled, she still needs ti to research. If she starts late, she won’t be able to catch up."
Edgar laughed, "Dad, Mom, did you hear the joke my older brother just made? What do you an by starting late? According to your logic, since I am only starting research tomorrow, my second brother, who hasn’t even found the right person yet, has already lost to you."
His brother’s research had been going on for over a month.
Their father glanced at them and said solemnly, "Redolence is the result of your Aunt’s lifelong efforts, and it’s also one of the richest businesses in the Foster family. One of you two brothers must conquer it. Don’t let the second brother steal the show again."
