Collins stared back. His stare wasn’t less hostile and the atmosphere changed to that of a war zone. However, unlike normal war zones with swords, arrows, and guns, this war zone consists of zero but chilling glares between two n.

Arissa studied Nicklaus’s face after the kiss and that was when she took note of the death stares.

Trying to wave things off, she tugged Nicklaus’s arm and planted a kiss on his right cheek, "I think we should leave,"

Nicklaus’s gaze lted and he looked down at her, "We are not leaving the house, I wanted you to et Collins," he explained to her.

Arissa’s eyes beca confused, "et Collins?" she do not understand a reason why she should et Collins when she already knows him.

Nicklaus nodded. He raised his face to Collins and one could see the struggles in them, "He agreed to be your personal.." he trailed off and took in a deep breath.

Arissa stayed quiet and watched him while Collins had conflicted feelings in his heart.

Nicklaus shut his eyes for a split second and said in one breath, "He agreed to be your doctor until the baby arrives,"

"What?" the words left Arissa’s mouth before she could stop herself.

The two n in the room turned their concentration to her. She sounded so shocked and in disagreent with their decision and it amazed them.

Nicklaus expected her to agree with him.

Nicklaus faced her fully and pleaded, "Please, Love. There’s no one I trust more than him at this point to carry out this task. My doctor works with the higher-ups, and over the years, I haven’t been able to trust him completely," he held both sides of shoulders and held her gaze.

Arissa blinked at him, "I understand," she nodded softly and turned to Collins. She smiled at him brightly.

When she smiled at him, Collins was finally able to breathe again. He returned the smile and walked towards her.

When Nicklaus ssaged him earlier, he had thought she would accept him without hesitation but to his surprise, she acted out of his expectation and it left him shocked.

Walking towards her, he took cautious steps. Nicklaus does not look like one who wants to be ssed with so unlike when he hugged her without restrains, he kept his distance.

He scanned her fully and chuckled, "I still can’t believe you will beco a mother soon," he t her brown eyes and was tempted to hug her again.

Arissa tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and nodded with a soft giggle at the end, "I will," she took her hands off Nicklaus’s arm and held both of Collins’s hands.

She swung their hands gently and said, "And you will beco an uncle,"

Collins smiled. He loved the fact she included him in the life of her child. There hasn’t been any greater position than the position she just placed him.

It gladdened his heart and he took note of her new style, "You changed your style," he sounded surprised.

Arissa shook her head, "Not really but it’s beautiful," she smiled and admired herself. She viewed herself down to her toe.

Collins humd in agreent, "You look so soft and your glow is on a whole new brighter level,"

Arissa let out a low sign filled with gratitude, "It is. I feel so good,"

Nicklaus stood behind and listened to their conversation while Collins stole a few glances at him.

"Aren’t you supposed to go back to your ho country?" she asked thoughtfully when she rembered he had been around them lately.

"If you w_"

"Collins," Adele called as she descended the staircase. Her eyes glanced through the living room and she found Nicklaus and Arissa also. Arissa was staring at her while Nicklaus had his back facing her.

She gave her sister a gentle smile and walked down the staircase. Getting to them, she hugged Arissa first and kissed the crown of her head.

"I haven’t seen you since last night. Did you go out?" she questioned cupping Arissa’s face tenderly with both hands.

Arissa smiled at her and shook her head, "I’ve been indoors,"

Adele pressed another kiss on the crown of Arissa’s head before smiling at her again. Turning to face Nicklaus, she nodded at the cold man and turned around fully to face Collins.

"You never ntioned you would be coming," she said in the hug and patted softly on his back.

Collins chuckled and t Arissa’s eyes. Arissa gave him a light shrug as a go-ahead if he wanted to share the news with her.

He parted the hug and said, "Arissa_"

"Arissa and I are expecting a baby," Nicklaus cut him off. He gave Collins a side eye and walked towards Adele, "I’m sorry you are hearing this late," he said like a respected gentleman, hiding both of his hands behind his back.

He saw the gestures passed between Collins and Arissa. He felt not pleased at the thought of Collins breaking the news to Arissa’s elder sister and not him.

Adele gasped.

Stiffly, she turned her face towards Arissa. When she saw Arissa smiling in approval to Nicklaus’s words, her hands flew over her mouth and she cupped it, surprised.

Just like a movie, the days she spent with Arissa’s younger version replayed before her, leaving her baffled at how grown the baby sister she always cuddled to bed and sang poems for had grown to be. She was so marveled at the woman her sister had grown to beco and she was so proud of her.

One could see the great love sipping off her eyes as they got watery. Sotis, she always felt lucky that the Lincolns stole her.

Call her twisted but she appreciates it in so aspect of her life. Especially for the fact she grew to have a sister like Arissa from the kidnap.

Arissa was the only reason she had been able to forgive the Lincolns and only kept her distance from them.
