Alfred’s eyes narrowed as he scanned Richard’s house. The house was moderately decent and luxurious for a young man living alone but for soone like Alfred who loves to flaunt his wealth, the house was like an eyesore to him.

Alfred rang the doorbell while looking around the place for any suspicious thing that might lead him to find Theodore.

He rang the doorbell a couple of tis more and that increased his suspicion. What was that nephew of his doing that is taking him a long walk to get to the door?

Losing his cool, he rang the doorbell disturbingly and finally stopped when he heard footsteps from the inside walking over the door.

With an annoyed expression, Richard peaked at the mindless intruder through his door hole. His heart dropped when he saw his uncle before his door.

Though they were in the sa city, Richard haven’t seen his uncle and his wife for the past fifteen years - all thanks to his mother’s doubt about their family but still, this visit?

Taking a deep breath, Richard pulled the door open. It would be immoral to keep his uncle waiting at his door that way.

Standing before Alfred, he scanned the man and Alfred did the sa as they stood not giving way to the other as suspension clouded their minds.

While staring at his uncle, Richard’s eyes surveyed his surrounding. It was late at night - already twelve. Arissa was already acting weird and with the pri suspect before him, he could not lower his guard.

Backing down first in the na of respect, Richard moved away from the door as he welcod his uncle in.

"Uncle! It’s been a while," Richard started as he switched back to his jovial side.

With a wide carefree smile on his lips, he extended his hand out for a handshake. Alfred nodded stiffly.

Not wanting to look odd and wired, he accepted the boy’s hand in his. It was a tense mont as Richard felt every fraction of hate coming from the handshake which made him wonder why.

He haven’t seen his uncle for a long ti so there was no possible way he might have annoyed him. eting Mr. Lincoln’s calm deanor, his mind drifted off to his mother’s suspicion.

Could it be that the man truly had sothing to do with his father’s death?

"You have grown so well. From a boy to a man," Alfred taunt as he took his hand off the handshake.

Richard’s eyes squinted with suspicions towards Alfred but still, he nodded. The fact Alfred had enough hatred towards him that split out of the handshake, Richard heightened his guards.

Richard nodded, "Let’s have a seat," he gestured for them to move into the living room. All of these were weird, giving him lots of goosebumps.

Mr. Adams had never visited nor called him since his mother outwardly accessed him of killing his father but now, he was inside his living room late at night.

Was he traveling and had a breakdown sowhere? Or could it be he ca for sothing dark - like to kill ?

Richard’s hair stood erect at the thought of Mr. Lincoln killing him. To be honest, he was scared for his life and his uncle out of place grin wasn’t helping.

"Do you want coffee or juice? Water or anything?" Richard questioned the mont Alfred was seated. He wants to get over this weird visit and it was scary how Alfred was acting all comfortable around him like they were close relations.

Alfred scanned the living room and that made Richard more wary of him. eting Richard’s eyes, Alfred arranged how he could push Richard under the bus.

The boy was of no use and if Richard was smart, he wouldn’t have let him in but the boy did and now, he would use him to save his ass from Logan and still dominate the business world.

It would only be a matter of ti before he arranges his plan.

"I don’t want anything," he said staring into Richard’s eyes.

Alfred did well to hide his excessive hate for Richard. Looking at the boy, it seed like he was staring at his brother.

The boy was a replica of his brother. Alfred never noticed that until today and it was a big shocker to him as it caught him off guard.

"Seat," he ordered the standing figure before him and Richard’s brows arched questioningly at Alfred’s tune.

Alfred cleared his throat, "I’m sorry, I ant to take a seat," he arranged his tune.

Richard might let him in - maybe out of kindness but he was well alert so when Alfred used that tune on him, his eyes were rooted on the man’s hands so he would be able to strike if Alfred produces a weapon.

Luckily, nothing ca forth. Taking firm cautious steps, Richard sat opposite Alfred, "Was there a reason you stopped by my house?" he asked seriously with impatience.

Fear was all over Richard.

He was alone with the man who might have killed his father, the fact it was almost 1 am scared him the most.

He was just curious and five he was still awake when the knock ca in, he had no other choice than to see who it was.

Dread washed over him when he saw Alfred before his door but his kind nature kicked in and he let the man in without a second thought which he was beginning to regret.

"I want your mother’s address," Alfred said casually as if asking about a long-ti buddy.

Richard’s heart leaped to his mouth, "Why?" he managed to ask in an unfazed voice.

Alfred’s eyes darkened at the question. From what he gathered about the man before him, it all said that his cousin was jovial with a stream of human milk flowing through him and also, a big-mouthed teaser so....why was he asking questions to pass a relative contact to him?

"Should there be a reason before I ask?" Alfred’s voice turned irritated as he could no longer hide his resentnt.

Richard blinked. The atmosphere was getting deadly and scary, "I think you should leave," he thoughtfully suggested.

Alfred frowned upon hearing Richard’s order. Did he just turn this cheap?

"My mother wouldn’t love the pleasure of seeing you. Whereas, she still blas you for the death of my father," Richard hit the nail on the head. He wanted Alfred out as soon as possible.

Alfred stiffened with a frown as he tried to understand sothing. Seems he would have to put Richard and his mother to use sooner than expected.

"You know that’s not true," Alfred countered in defense. He ca here for an easy conversation not to receive so accusations. He did not expect Richard to be this difficult, the boy had always been adorable and easy to push.

What changed? Comporting himself, he decided to play cool not to lose all of it. Offending Richard in his situation wasn’t advisable. Though his plan was bound to lose or win, he still wants to give it a try.

He wouldn’t have co here to look for his brother’s wife but he has to Mr Adams seems to have disappeared and he doesn’t know if the man was dead or alive.

If he knew where Mr. Adams was, it would be just a piece of cake in finding her but painfully, that man decided to be weak while he wasn’t well versed in the world of tracking.

Alfred laughed dryly, "I want you to know that I’m here for you. With all your ugly mindset, I still love you," he said acting the victim to play his cards well. Sonnest, Richard might pounder on his words and feel guilt,y and then, he would strike.

Hearing his uncle, Richard’s eyes twisted in confusion. Love him? Here for him? Or perhaps this wasn’t his uncle.

Surely this was leading deeper with anings. Nodding at Alfred’s word to get the man out, he walked him to the door.

His life was much more important.
