With a low sigh, Arissa nodded her head, "We seem okay. I an, we rarely have issues,"

Mrs. Wyatt was tempted to ask why Nicklaus left her room with ruffled hair as she wanted to know if he slept in here with her.

"Let’s eat," Arissa announced as she dragged Mrs. Wyatt off her thought.

Mrs. Wyatt smiled at her daughter in law new glowing nature and imdiately her sadness about them not planning to have a baby vanished.

The fact Arissa was no longer aloof and cold but now cheerful and welcoming was enough to explain all of the changes their relationship has encountered.

Her heart swelled with pride, she was proud of her son. Cupping both sides of Arissa’s cheeks, she giggled at her daughter in law cuteness.

Her happiness with their improvent was over the top so, you can’t bla her if she acts out of the line.

Arissa was startled by the sudden hold. Without hiding her dislike for it, she raised her hands to her face and gently took Mrs. Wyatt’s palms off her cheek.

"I’m sorry," Mrs. Wyatt apologized.

Arissa smiled warmly at her. Holding her hand, she lowered Mrs. Wyatt down to the seat opposite her.

Halfway into the al, she noticed Mrs. Wyatt just watching her with a spaced-out smile and to make things more awkward, the woman wasn’t eating along with her.

Her trust issue kicked in but she waved it off. It would be so low of her to assu that Mrs. Wyatt would want to poison her or sothing close to that.

"How is Mr. Wyatt?" Arissa asked to break the silence. Again, she hasn’t seen that man since she got married.

Mrs. Wyatt sighed lowly, "If I’m being honest, I’d say that he’s not happy about the fact that you two live together,"

Arissa’s brows frowned as they demanded an explanation. What does Mrs. Wyatt an by this? Weren’t they the ones who planned the marriage along with her parents?

"He only wanted you to be available for social functions he feels like you_" Mrs Wyatt suddenly cut herself off. She ntally spanked herself for almost speaking too much.

Arissa’s curiosity was piqued by Mrs. Wyatt’s pause and she imdiately dropped her cutleries, "He feels like I’m what?"

She rarely cares about what soone thinks about her but with this pause from Mrs Wyatt, it seems like it’s sothing concerning her personality or her involvent with their son.

"Forget that part," Mrs. Wyatt said with a dread expression when she saw how serious Arissa was on hearing that part of the conversation.

"Mrs. Wyatt,"

Mrs. Wyatt gulped. She can’t let this spoil their relationship. Gently eting Arissa’s eyes, her voice turned softer, "He feels like this marriage is holding Nicklaus down and making his son more unhappy," she explained and Arissa’s face fell.

Her heart dropped as she tried to act insensitive with what Mrs Wyatt said but sowhere deep down, it made her sad that she was now tagged as the reason for Nicklaus’s unhappiness. It ought to be good progress since it might fasten their divorce if he - Mr. Wyatt - loves Nicklaus so much and hate seeing him sad.

But on the other side, it sounded hypocritical. Why would they succumb to marriage benefits if they cared so much about their son’s happiness? Do they think he was the only one suffering she’s also suffering but there was a difference. His parents cared about his feelings while she’s doesn’t.

She felt jealous of him. He has the world’s best parents while God decided to bless her with sccumbags.

Until now, she don’t even know the benefit they would get from this union. Everything was still overwhelming and confusing for her.

"Holding him down from what?" Arissa questioned keeping her voice strong so her disturbed and breaking emotions wouldn’t co to light.

This new piece of information troubled her. In her own opinion, it was supposed to be good news. Well, since she wants a divorce, she should be happy Mr. Wyatt also awaits that day but the news shattered her heart.

She knows she has no right but the possibility of him being with another woman infuriated her inside that she had to bite her tongue to stay sane.

’We are no match,’ she forced herself to believe.

"Dear, he never ant it that way," Mrs Wyatt tried explaining. She can’t believe she just split the news like that when she wasn’t ought to.

For goodness sake, Arissa only wanted to know about Mr. Wyatt’s health and not his opinion of her marriage. To make matters worst, Arissa’s expression was all indifferent like she would not mind divorcing Nicklaus this instant.

She felt disheartened seeing such an expression from Arissa. Here she was, guessing they were already sailing.

Arissa nodded sharply at Mrs. Wyatt’s words before standing up from her seat, "I think I’m filled, thank you so much for the_"

Mrs. Wyatt held Arissa’s wrist before the girl would fully stand up from her seat, "Arissa, I never ant it that way. You’re not yet filled,"

Arissa smiled at Mrs Wyatt and with a soft struggle, she wriggled her wrist off the woman’s hold, "I have sowhere to go to. It’s already late," not wanting it to seem like what Mrs Wyatt said affected her whole mood, she gave a reason for ending the al abruptly.

Packing the tray, Arissa tied her bathrobe firmly before carrying the tray, "Let ," Mrs. Wyatt volunteered as she decided to let Arissa be for a while and try not to force her to co around just now.

She doesn’t understand how but the couple seems to have the sa personality with only slight differences between them.

"Mrs. Wyatt," Arissa called the woman so she would look up at her while taking the tray. With Mrs. Wyatt avoiding her gaze, she felt awful.

The woman seems to be lonely and only has her to talk to so if she ends up spilling things like these, she shouldn’t get mad, right?

"I’m okay," she lied to make the woman feel better.

Dropping the tray back on her table, she pulled Mrs Wyatt into a soft warm hug, "Is the offer to call you Mother still available?" Arissa asked timidly in the hug.

Mrs. Wyatt’s heart lted with excitent, "Yes dear," she said tenderly before stroking Arissa’s brown hair with her palm.

Arissa thinned her lips before burying her face into Mrs. Wyatt’s shoulder as she accepted the comfort they offered.
