When Kiana Sutton woke up, her mind was a bit foggy.

Last night, when did she go to bed?

On the table, Ethan Sinclair’s little figurine was still there. Kiana poked his grumpy, puffed-up little face with her fingertip, then put him into the drawer.

A new month was about to begin. Kiana swore that this month, she absolutely had to get the full attendance award.

When she went downstairs, Ethan Sinclair was actually sitting at the dining table having breakfast.

Kiana pressed her lips together. She didn’t go for breakfast, planning to head straight to work instead.

"Young Madam, aren’t you having breakfast?"

Kiana nodded. "Mm, I’m afraid I won’t make it in ti. I’ll just buy sothing at the company entrance later."

Just as Kiana finished signing, about to go change her shoes, Ethan Sinclair’s icy voice rang out, "Co here!"

Seeing that Kiana didn’t move, Ethan looked like he’d lost all patience, his voice dark and frightening. "Co eat breakfast. Don’t make say it a third ti!"

The atmosphere was tense early in the morning. Chelsea Chapman was worried the two would fight and whispered to Kiana, "Young Madam, why don’t you eat before heading to the company? It won’t take that long."

Every ti Kiana saw Ethan Sinclair, she would think of what he said to Hannah Lowell. She’d felt upset for days and didn’t really want to face Ethan, but she didn’t dare go against him.

When Kiana sat down, Chelsea hurriedly brought over the breakfast.

Watching Kiana eat in small bites, looking like she had no appetite, Ethan’s handso face imdiately went cold. "What? The food at ho can’t compete with soone else’s bread?"

Kiana was stunned for a second, not understanding what Ethan ant.

"That Evan Shepherd seems pretty chummy with you, huh."

Only now did Kiana realize what Ethan was talking about. Last ti, she hadn’t eaten breakfast, went to the hospital and had a hypoglycemic episode, so she ate Evan Shepherd’s bread.

But how did Ethan Sinclair know?

Did he see it?

So, is he... jealous?

The next second, Ethan’s cold voice sounded again, "Don’t forget your health isn’t just about you anymore. Eat all the breakfast in front of you before you’re allowed to go to work."

Kiana’s hand gripped her spoon tighter. Heh... she was being ridiculous again.

Of course she knew Ethan wanted her to eat breakfast not because he cared, but because he was afraid that if her health collapsed, she couldn’t give blood to Kate Lynch.

Kiana swallowed her frustration and finished all the breakfast in front of her.

Watching her eat chanically, Ethan was so angry he was about to explode.

Before he could say anything, Kiana had already stood up. She signed flatly, "I’m full. I’m leaving now."

Ethan stared at Kiana’s retreating figure, his expression dark and terrifying.

He’d waited all morning. Not only did Kiana not give him the figurine, she even looked like she didn’t want to see him.

Was this woman changing tactics now?

Playing hard to get?

Heh... such petty tricks!

Because of breakfast, she’d wasted quite a bit of ti. Kiana seriously suspected Ethan did it on purpose, just to stop her from getting that attendance bonus!

Still, if she biked a little faster, she could probably make it on ti.

However, when Kiana got to the garage and saw the charger plug lying on the ground, with her e-bike completely out of power, she just about lost it.

She’d plugged it in perfectly last night—when did the plug fall out?

When it rains, it pours.

Already short on ti, now the bike was unusable.

Was she going to miss out on this month’s attendance award again?

Kiana hurried to the door to call a car with her phone.

Just then, Ethan Sinclair’s car pulled up right beside her. Connor Grant got out and said, "Young Madam, I heard from Chelsea your bike’s dead. Get in, I’ll give you a ride."

Kiana glanced at the back seat, hesitating.

Connor walked up to her and whispered, "I heard you missed out on attendance last month—five thousand bucks! Can’t miss it again this month."

After saying that, Connor opened the back door for Kiana.

Kiana gritted her teeth: five thousand on one side, and sharing a car with Ethan Sinclair on the other.

In the end, she got in for the money.

Neither of them said a word the whole ride.

Ethan Sinclair noticed Kiana was staring out the window, only showing him the back of her head. His brows knit tightly together.

Didn’t she make a figurine for him? Why wasn’t she giving it to him?

Could it be... she was waiting for him to ask for it?

Heh... keep dreaming!

When they were almost at the Evercrest Group building, Kiana suddenly patted Connor’s shoulder. Looking at her in the rearview mirror, he asked, "Young Madam, what’s wrong?"

"I’ll get out here."

"But it’s still a bit of a walk to the company from here."

"It’s fine, I’ll just run the rest."

She and Ethan were secretly married; at the company, only Nathan Lawson and Stella Lyncg knew they were husband and wife.

Ethan didn’t want people to know she was his wife, and he definitely didn’t want anyone seeing them get out of the sa car.

Connor glanced at Ethan. Ethan said nothing, so he stopped the car.

Just as Kiana was about to get out, Ethan grabbed her.

Kiana turned and found herself facing Ethan’s cold, distant, handso face. "Kiana Sutton, don’t you have anything to say to , or... anything to give ?"

Kiana didn’t get what Ethan ant and shook her head after a mont of confusion.

This really pissed Ethan off. He flung Kiana’s hand away and snapped, "Go to work! If you’re late by a minute, I’ll dock three tis your pay!"

Kiana: "..."

Did this guy eat gunpowder for breakfast?

Kiana had actually thought of giving Ethan a present, but then rembered he didn’t value anything she gave him, maybe even humiliate her, so she gave up.

She had been really busy those days; by the ti she rembered Ethan’s figurine, it had gone missing and was nowhere to be found.

Evan Shepherd was even busier these days—working all day and heading straight to the hospital after work.

No ti for breakfast, so he asked Kiana to bring it for him.

Every ti, Kiana would ask Chelsea to make an extra breakfast and take it to Evan at work.

After several tis, rumors started up again.

"Hey, that Kiana Sutton is bringing Evan breakfast again. She’s being awfully attentive, huh?"

"Evan’s gentle and considerate, and he doesn’t mind that she’s mute—of course she’s trying to cling to him."

"Yeah, she made him a keychain, brings him breakfast, coffee, tidies up his desk—tsk tsk, afraid people won’t know she’s chasing after Evan."

Amy Manning overheard people gossiping and imdiately stood up for Kiana. "What nonsense are you talking about? Kiana and Judith are just friends. Stop slandering her!"

"Ha... n and won can’t just be friends. You’re so naive, thinking that mute girl sees you as a friend—she’s just using you to go after the guy you like!"
