It really was Joy’s voice.

Kiana rushed over in a few quick steps and grabbed Joy Morgan.

When Joy Morgan turned around and saw Kiana, she was genuinely surprised. "Kiana, what are you doing here?"

Before Kiana had a chance to answer, a sharp, anxious voice rang out.

"Miss Lynch, how is Miss Lynch? Is she okay?"

"Hey, your calf is fractured, you can’t move around!"

"Miss Lynch, I need to know how Miss Lynch is doing."

Hearing Wendy Fletcher’s voice, Joy Morgan imdiately rushed over, "Mom..."

When Wendy Fletcher saw Joy, her pale face looked even more haggard. "Joy, you... why are you here?"

"I got a call from the hospital. Aren’t you working at the hospital? Why are you here?"

"I... it’s a long story. We’ll talk at ho. First, tell ! Kate Lynch! How is Miss Lynch?"

Joy Morgan didn’t know Kate Lynch, but the na sounded familiar—she just couldn’t recall where she’d heard it.

Kiana realized that Joy’s mother had hurt her leg, and imdiately connected her with the group who saved Kate Lynch.

Kiana tugged on Joy’s arm, gesturing, "Tell your mom, Kate Lynch isn’t badly hurt."

Joy nodded and comforted Wendy, "Mom, Kate Lynch is fine, don’t worry. Let’s get you in bed first and watch out for your leg."

Only then did Wendy notice Kiana. Her face instantly filled with anger. She glared at Kiana and shouted, "Kiana Sutton, what are you doing here?"

Kiana frowned slightly. It wasn’t her imagination—she had felt Wendy Fletcher’s dislike the last ti, and now she could clearly sense outright hostility.

They didn’t seem to know each other, nor did they have any real conflict!

Joy Morgan was just as puzzled, but before she could say anything, suddenly a crowd entered the room.

Stella and Sylvia Yates had also hurried over after hearing about Kate Lynch’s injury.

Seeing Kate was fine, and learning that her rescuer was here in this room, they’d co to thank her.

Stella supported Sylvia Yates, while Ethan Sinclair accompanied Kate Lynch.

Kiana saw how gently Ethan cared for Kate Lynch, and a trace of sadness flickered in her eyes as she silently retreated into a corner.

"Hello, thank you for saving my daughter. Please, take this."

For wealthy families, expressing gratitude always ca down to the sa thing: offering money.

When Wendy saw Sylvia Yates, she looked montarily flustered and uneasy. Composing herself, she pushed the red envelope back. "Mrs. Lynch, that’s too much; I only did what anyone would do. As long as Miss Lynch is fine, that’s all that matters."

Wendy’s gaze fell on Kate Lynch, and seeing that Kate was unhard, she finally let out a quiet breath.

At this mont, she also noticed Ethan Sinclair standing at Kate’s side.

Her eyes swept Ethan up and down and side to side, taking in his appearance—sure enough, he was a fine young man, a perfect match for Kate.

Kate seed to recognize Wendy, and imdiately said, "You’re Mrs. Fletcher?"

Wendy nodded, slightly emotional but speaking with great warmth. "I didn’t think you’d rember , Miss Lynch."

Kate smiled faintly. "I just woke up, and when I was unsteady on my feet, you helped a lot. Now you’ve saved again. Thank you so much. But, aren’t you working at the hospital? How did you end up on our film set?"

"There were layoffs at the hospital. After I was let go, I couldn’t find a suitable job, so I took this one on the set—just temporary work."

Kate: "I see. Well, you’re my savior. If you need anything, just ask."

Wendy hesitated for a few seconds, then said slowly, "Actually, there is sothing I’d like to ask Miss Lynch to help with."

"Sure, go ahead."

"I’m getting old, and it’s hard to find work. Miss Lynch, could you help find a job?"

"Of course, no problem. Give your contact info, and I’ll be in touch soon."

"Thank you, thank you so much, Miss Lynch. You truly have a kind heart and beautiful soul."

After they exchanged contacts, Wendy smiled and said to Sylvia, "Mrs. Lynch, to have such a wonderful daughter is your blessing."

Sylvia smiled softly, her gaze unconsciously drifting to Joy Morgan. "Your daughter is very beautiful, too."

Wendy glanced at Joy, forced a smile that didn’t reach her eyes, and said nothing.

It was almost midnight.

Since Kate Lynch was all right, the group began preparing to return to Varden.

Wendy’s injuries were severe, so she would have to stay in the hospital for a few days to recover.

Joy Morgan sent the Lynches and Kiana downstairs to the inpatient wing.

Sylvia Yates said to Joy, "Miss Morgan, your mother saved Kate, so we’ll cover all her hospitalization costs. Please, don’t refuse."

Seeing that Sylvia was insistent, Joy didn’t argue further.

"Then I’ll trouble you to take extra care of your mother during this ti. If anything cos up, just contact us directly."

"Okay."

Joy Morgan seed a bit distracted, her gaze lingering on Kiana walking at the end of the group.

She was quite worried about Kiana, and after seeing Ethan Sinclair and Kate Lynch co in together, she finally rembered where she’d heard Kate’s na.

She’d heard it from Kiana herself.

Kate Lynch was the unreachable white moonlight in Ethan Sinclair’s heart.

So late at night, her own husband brought her to see his white moonlight—how heartbreaking must that be.

Flora Yates noticed and curiously asked, "Miss Morgan, do you know Kiana Sutton?"

Joy knew about Kiana’s father’s past with the Lynches, but still nodded. "Kiana is my friend."

Just as expected, upon hearing this, Sylvia Yates’s expression grew cold. "Is that so? Well, let give you a piece of advice, Miss Morgan: choose your friends with caution. After all, appearances can be deceiving."

With that, Sylvia quickened her pace.

Joy ignored her, instead hurrying to Kiana’s side. "Kiana, are you okay?"

Kiana smiled and gestured, "I’m fine!"

Joy looked at Ethan and Kate ahead of them.

Kate, either intentionally or not, kept leaning towards Ethan.

And Ethan was actually holding her, as if he’d forgotten his wife was walking behind him.

"Hmph... So, I’ve finally t the man you’re always thinking about. No wonder you like him so much—he’s good-looking, but you can tell he’s trouble."

Kiana let out a soft sigh, doing her best not to look at Ethan and Kate so her heart wouldn’t ache as much.

"So, what do you plan to do next?"

"I want to clear my father’s na and get him out first."

As for Ethan Sinclair... she really didn’t know what to do.

Joy Morgan was about to say sothing when her phone suddenly rang. It was a call from Wendy Fletcher.

"Hello, Mom..."

"Get up here, now! I have sothing to say to you."

With that, Wendy hung up the phone.

Joy frowned, put her phone away, and hugged Kiana. "Kiana, whatever you decide, I’ll always support you. I might not be much help, but as long as you need , I’ll always be here for you."
