Sabrina didn’t know how she would react after Dominique poured his heart out. The way he begged her began to affect her.

Her heart clenched listening to his every word. She didn’t want to admit it, but she could feel his sincerity and desperation.

But soone was waiting for her outside– Vladimir. She decided to have a brand new start together with him.

She shouldn’t waver now, just because Dominique started begging her.

’I can’t allow him to affect anymore... Once is enough. He broke my trust. It’s not sothing that can easily be nded.’ She thought to herself, convincing herself not to fall for Dominique again.

"Dom... please let go. I’m here to get our divorce agreent. I hope you will cooperate. Let’s just go our separate ways. Since we can’t turn back ti, let’s beco strangers again and live our own lives separately."

However, Dominique shook his head frantically. "I won’t divorce you, Sabrina. The docunt is gone... I burned it!"

Sabrina slamd her eyes shut. Dominique was refusing to let her go. Why now? Why did he have to make things difficult for both of them?

"Dom, this is all your fault. It’s too late now. I don’t think we can still go back to the way we used to be... We’ve been separated for five years already. Just forget about ."

Hearing those words, Dominique finally released her from his tight embrace.

For so unknown reason, Sabrina felt a sudden emptiness in her heart when he finally let go. Her mind and heart were contradicting each other.

Dominique stepped back as he wiped his tears. It was too embarrassing to cry in front of her. He already felt hopeless. Sabrina’s words already shattered his remaining hopes.

"I’m so sorry. I just got carried away. I know I don’t have the right to ask you to give another chance. And I can’t force you to love again. You already made it clear... that you don’t want anymore... Your love for is gone," Dominique apologized, his voice filled with sorrow and regret.

Sabrina felt the lump in her throat as she listened to those words. She could only look down and clenched her fists. She didn’t want him to see the hesitation in her eyes.

’Am I doing the right thing? Is this really what I want? Ending things with him for good...?’ She pondered to herself.

Taking a deep sigh, Dominique spoke again, "I’ll sign the divorce papers."

Sabrina had mixed emotions upon hearing that. She should feel relieved; however, she felt sothing she couldn’t explain. At that certain mont, her heart constricted once more.

Then Dominique continued, "But I won’t sign it now. Just give two weeks. And within those two weeks, can you please fulfill my wishes? This is the only thing I want to ask from you, in exchange for my cooperation. Will you do it? After this... I promise that I will never bother you again, Sabrina."

Sabrina fell silent for a mont, contemplating whether to agree or not.

Then, after careful consideration, she finally agreed. "Fine. It’s a deal. But Vladimir shouldn’t know about this."

"Don’t worry. I won’t interfere with your relationship with him. You have my word," Dominique reassured her. "I just want to spend the last two weeks with you... before I can finally let you go."

Dominique sounded like he had finally given up, and he accepted that Sabrina would never co back to his life.

Within these two weeks, he just wanted to be with her and treat her as he should have been doing when she was still in love with him. He would like to compensate her for the heartbreak he had caused her five years ago.

And maybe he could still pretend that Sabrina was still his wife. He knew he was just fooling his own self. But he couldn’t help it. This was the only way he could think of... to make the most of his remaining ti with her.

"Alright then. I should leave now..." Sabrina said in her low voice.

Dominique nodded, giving her a faint smile.

"Can I hug you one last ti before you leave?" He requested once more.

Sabrina was taken aback by his sudden request.

"If this is your first wish, then fine. You can hug ," she replied without hesitation. She sohow felt like she also needed it right now.

Dominique slowly approached her. Then he engulfed her in his strong arms. He embraced her tightly. He could already feel her heartbeat.

The hug lasted for several minutes before Dominique released her.

"Sabrina," he called out her na affectionately.

Sabrina lifted her head to look at him. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw his sorrowful smile. Before she knew it, Dominique had already kissed her forehead.

His lips lingered on her forehead for several seconds, and her heartbeat raced even faster. His sweet gesture still had the sa effect on her.

"I’ll call you..." He said.

She knew that he was referring to their deal– fulfilling his wishes within these two weeks, and they would really go back to being strangers.

Sabrina just silently nodded before turning around. She had to distance herself from him; otherwise, her heart might betray her.

When she left, Dominique just slumped his body on the couch, covering his face with both hands. His tears began to fall again from the corners of his eyes.

’I’m too late... She doesn’t love anymore...’

Dominique was still silently crying when Aaron showed up in the living room.

"Dad? Are you alright?" Aaron asked him worriedly. "Where is Mom? Are you done talking with her?"

Dominique glanced at Aaron with eyes filled with tears. At that mont, the young boy knew that his father was in so much pain because of his mother.

He just pulled Aaron closer to him and hugged him. "Forgive , son. Your father is such a failure. I can never win your Mom back. And I finally decided to let her go... if this will make her happy."

Aaron just nodded as he began stroking his father’s back to console him. "Don’t worry, Dad. I’m here for you. I love you, Dad."

Dominique smiled faintly upon hearing that. "Thank you, son... You’re the only important person I have left. I’m so happy that I have you."
