Vladimir and Athena quickly headed to Vozton City District Hospital on the sa day. According to the responder who called Athena, Enzo was hit by a speeding car. And so witnesses told them that it looked like it was deliberate.
"Where is Enzo Williams?" Athena asked the reception desk of the hospital.
"Ward Number 7 Ma’am."
Athena imdiately searched for Ward Number 7, her heart racing from both fear and anxiousness. She didn’t know what she would do if sothing bad happened to her brother.
Vladimir just followed her, making sure she wouldn’t collapse from emotional stress and fatigue.
It did not take long before she found the ward. She hastily opened the door to see her brother.
Athena heaved a sigh of relief the mont her eyes caught a glimpse of Enzo’s figure, sitting on the sickbed.
His injury was not severe. He only got a few bruises on his cheek. And his head was covered by a bandage. Aside from that, there were no broken bones or fractures.
He just lost consciousness when his head hit the ground after avoiding the speeding car. The culprit had escaped.
"Brother!" Athena called out as she ran toward the sick bed. "How do you feel? Are you alright?"
Enzo had a sullen look on his face as he gazed at Athena. Instead of answering her, he suddenly asked her a question.
"Is Kimmy my daughter?"
Both Athena and Vladimir were dumbfounded by his direct question.
’How did he know? What made him think that Kimmy is his daughter?’ Athena pondered to herself.
Before she could say a word, Vladimir spoke from behind.
"Yes. Kimmy is your daughter."
Athena’s jaw dropped when Vladimir revealed the truth without hesitation.
Enzo narrowed his eyes, clenching his fists.
"So I succeeded in giving her a child... as part of our deal."
Athena was rendered speechless, her eyes widening in shock as she looked at her brother.
Enzo rubbed the bridge of his nose before speaking again.
"Yes, Sister. I’ve recovered my mory. I rember everything... including my deal with Lanny." Enzo’s lips curled up into a faint smile as he delivered the piece of good news to his sister.
"Oh My God!" Athena exclaid before pouncing on Enzo and hugging him tightly. "I’m so happy, Bro. You’ve gained your lost mory."
"Yes. I think this is a blessing in disguise. The culprit failed to kill . And now, I’ve rembered everything. I should thank that asshole!" Enzo said, smirking.
"I think... The Williams are behind this accident. They knew that Enzo would beco the new chairman of the company. I made Luna announce the appointnt. They are bold enough to target you right away." Vladimir shared his speculation with them.
Athena and Enzo fell silent. They didn’t expect that their Uncle could be this wicked. He only cared about money and the company. He was so greedy.
"I’ll leave you for a mont. I’ll call my assistant and take care of this matter," Vladimir said, excusing himself.
When Vladimir left, the siblings got their chance to talk privately.
Enzo stared at his sister, contemplating whether to tell her about Dominique’s tragic past or not. He didn’t know if Athena could handle the emotional pain of knowing that their father was responsible for the tragic deaths of Dominique’s family.
But after careful consideration, Enzo decided to delay revealing the truth.
"Sis, why did you hide it from ? If I hadn’t regained my mory, don’t you have any plans to tell about my daughter?" Enzo confronted her. He was a little bit upset.
"I’m sorry, Bro. I can’t tell you because of Lanny. She didn’t want you to know."
A cold glint flashed in his eyes upon hearing that. Lanny was always stubborn and selfish. She would only do what she wanted to do without considering other people’s feelings.
In fact, she was the one who forced Enzo to impregnate her, cleverly using the deal.
"I have to deal with that stubborn woman. I’ve had enough of her misleading acts," Enzo mumbled through gritted teeth. Now that he had learned about Kimmy, he would no longer allow Lanny to cast him aside.
Athena was saddened when she recalled what transpired in her penthouse earlier.
"Bro, Lanny is leaving York City today together with her father. Kimmy and Aaron are with them. Lanny is going to marry Dmitri once they are back in their country." Athena inford him.
Complicated emotions flashed in his eyes upon hearing that.
"Do you want to stop her?" she asked him expectantly. "Have you fallen in love with her, Bro?"
Enzo fell silent for a mont, assessing his own feelings. After a while, he lifted his head, looking straight into Athena’s eyes.
"Yes. I think I’ve fallen in love with her." He smiled sadly. "But that woman has a heart of stone. No matter what I do, she keeps pushing away. I don’t understand her. She is so hard to figure out."
Athena couldn’t help but giggle. "I think she likes you too. It’s just that she is afraid to admit it."
"Because of what she experienced in the past... she stopped believing in love. Her mother’s story affected her views about falling in love." Athena expressed her opinion about Lanny’s confusing actions.
"Please be more patient with her, Bro. She doesn’t want to get hurt, that’s why she is afraid of serious commitnt."
Listening to her, Enzo had finally understood Lanny. He could only sigh deeply.
"I think I know what I have to do now. Thank you, sis." Enzo planted a soft kiss on Athena’s forehead. Then he stood up.
"Hey Bro, where are you going?" Athena asked him in puzzlent.
"Sis, please settle my hospital bill. I have to go and see Lanny. She can’t leave like this. I have more reason to chase after her... I’m doing this for Kimmy!" Enzo had made up his mind. He wouldn’t allow Lanny to marry Dmitri.
Athena smiled upon hearing that. Then she threw her car keys to Enzo.
"Here. You need this. Be careful when driving!" Athena supported Enzo’s decision. She wanted to see him happy with the woman he loved. She had high hopes for them.
"Thank you, Sis! I will bring back Lanny... including Aaron and Kimmy."
