[ V Club: At Vladimir’s Office... ]
Vladimir was leisurely sitting inside his office, facing his laptop when soone knocked.
"Boss, it’s , Luna..."
Vladimir stopped what he was doing and answered, "Co in."
Luna entered the room to report sothing. She politely greeted him with a bow. Vladimir gestured for her to sit down.
"Are you done with your task?" Vladimir asked her, lifting his eyebrow.
He expected Luna to finish her job today. As per his command, Dominique must be eliminated today.
"Boss, before I could finish Dominique Smith, sothing went wrong today." Luna looked down, unable to et Vladimir in the eyes.
"What do you an?" Vladimir furrowed his eyebrows.
"I made a blunder. An unexpected event happened. Furthermore, Miss Atheena and Aaron were both present at the scene of the accident today. Young master’s life was put in danger so I had to intervene, saving him from getting hit by a car."
"Car accident? Did you orchestrate this car accident?" Vladimir asked Luna.
However, even before she could answer Vladimir’s question, the door of the office was pushed open, catching their attention.
Vladimir and Luna turned to the door only to be surprised after seeing Athena and Lanny. They strode toward them, both ladies had serious expressions on their faces.
Luna froze on her spot the mont she t Athena’s intense gaze. She could tell that there was aning behind that gaze.
’Did she see earlier?’ Luna asked herself, her heart pounding against her chest.
anwhile, Vladimir maintained his composure as he stood up to welco his unexpected visitors.
"Athena, Lanny, what brought you here?" Vladimir asked them in his calm voice.
Lanny shot her brother a cold sharp glare. She already warned him before. It seed like her brother didn’t listen to her. Now, Athena ca to confront him.
Athena stepped closer to Vladimir, having conflicting emotions. She didn’t know how she would react if Vladimir had sothing to do with Dominique’s accident.
"We are here to clarify so things. I hope you will be honest with Athena." Lanny spoke up, eyeing Vladimir aningfully.
Vladimir’s gaze faltered for a mont, wondering if Athena was mad at him or not. He couldn’t read her current expression. Her eyes seed so distant.
"What is it?" Vladimir softly asked Athena.
Athena clenched her fists, taking a deep sigh. "V... please be honest with . Dominique got into an accident today. And I saw Luna in the scene. Are you... involved in this?"
There was a mont of silence when Athena said those words. The three ladies were now staring at Vladimir, anticipating his reply.
But instead of answering her, Vladimir threw her a question.
"If Dominique dies today, will you get sad? Do you still care about him, Athena?"
Lanny crumpled her face. Her brother’s jealousy was evident on his face. ’Damn! Can’t he be more straightforward and just answer Athena’s question?’
anwhile, Athena was at a loss for words. If Dominique died, would she be affected? For so unknown reason, her heart constricted after thinking about it. She didn’t want Dominique to die.
"This is not about what I would feel... this is about your promise Vladimir. I trusted your words. You promised that you wouldn’t intervene with my revenge. Then why? Why is Luna following Dominique? Is this part of your command?"
Vladimir felt a little bit guilty when Athena ntioned his promise. It was true. He broke his promise.
"Yes. I ordered it." Vladimir replied truthfully. He couldn’t lie to Athena right now since she was demanding to hear the truth. "I asked Luna to monitor Dominique and eliminate him."
"Will you hate now for what I did, Athena?" Vladimir asked her earnestly. He needed to find out if Athena would hate him for hurting Dominique. If she did, then it only ant she still cared for him.
"I broke my promise... because Dominique must die... for everyone’s sake," Vladimir added.
Athena folded her fingers into tight fists, disbelief was evident in her eyes. At that certain mont, she wanted to slap Vladimir but she couldn’t move in her spot.
Amidst the silence, Vladimir spoke again to justify his actions.
"I thought you both trusted ." He darted his gaze back and forth between Athena and Lanny. "Yet there is sothing important you haven’t told . It’s about Aaron’s biological parents."
Athena and Lanny were stupefied. They exchanged glances with one another, trying to figure out if Vladimir had already discovered the truth. Lanny and Athena didn’t inform him that Aaron was Athena’s child with Dominique.
Vladimir was about to confront them when another figure entered the room. Of all the people who would suddenly show up, they didn’t expect to see Miguel Ivankov.
"Dad? What is he doing here?" Lanny murmured upon seeing her father.
Luna was also intimidated when the Leader of the Ivankov Clan entered the room. His powerful aura was overbearing. The four of them stood in silence as the old man strode toward Vladimir.
Vladimir frowned when he noticed that his father looked angry. He had a talk with him earlier together with Dmitri. He wondered why his father suddenly ca to V Club at this hour.
Before they could ask him the reason for his sudden visit, Miguel threw a hard punch, hitting Vladimir in the face.
Everyone was stunned when they witnessed the shocking scene. No one anticipated that Miguel would suddenly punch Vladimir. But why? Why did he do that?
Vladimir clenched his fist. He tasted blood from the impact of Miguel’s hard punch splitting his lips. It had been so long since Miguel last used his hand to hit his son. What did he do to deserve this?
"Dad, what’s wrong?" Lanny finally found her voice to speak up. The tension in the room grew heavier with each passing second.
"Seriously? You are both asking this?" He sneered at them with a mocking look in his eyes.
"Why did you touch Dominique Smith?! Who gave you the right to assassinate this man?!" Miguel yelled at them, questioning Vladimir.
Everyone was shocked when Miguel ntioned Dominique Smith in his angry tone. Did he know him?
Athena was also confused. Miguel’s treatnt of Dominique was very different. She found it very strange.
"How could you hurt the biological father of the twins?!" Miguel grabbed Vladimir by his collar, shaking his body.
Everyone fell silent at Miguel’s last remarks, shock and disbelief could be seen on their faces.
