Dominique couldn’t tell whether Miguel Ivankov was making fun of him or not by saying those remarks. But deep inside, he knew that he couldn’t refute Miguel’s words.
From the mont he witnessed Sabrina jump off the bridge, thinking she had died, Dominique’s condition acted out. He couldn’t bring himself to have sex with anyone including Sasha. He couldn’t get aroused no matter what.
However, when Athena showed up, things began to change. Surprisingly, his body responded to her presence, reigniting desires he thought had faded since Sabrina’s disappearance. His arousal stemd from Athena’s striking resemblance to Sabrina.
’Perhaps, my body subconsciously recognized Sabrina at that ti.’ Dominique thought to himself.
"Do you love your current wife?" Miguel asked him again, his voice snapping Dominique out of his deep thoughts.
When Dominique looked at him, he saw the wide silly grin plastered on Miguel’s face. The old man seed to enjoy this conversation with Dominique.
After careful consideration, Dominique confided his true feelings with him. "You are right. Perhaps my issue in bed stems from not loving my current wife. I will not deny that anymore."
Miguel chuckled once more, feeling amused. "Oh? Then why don’t you divorce her?"
"I’m planning to do that."
Miguel stopped laughing when he heard Dominique’s serious response. He gazed at him, scrutinizing Dominique.
"Does it an do you love soone else?" There was a hopeful look in his eyes.
"Yes. I love soone else." Dominique confird.
Another crisp chuckle escaped from Miguel’s lips.
"I like your honesty, Mr. Smith. Can I introduce you to my daughter? Maybe you will like her. I guess you already knew her. It’s Aaron’s mother." The old man proposed to him without hesitation.
Dominique: "..."
Dominique found himself at a loss for words once more. It seed evident to him that the old man was attempting to match him with his daughter.
He was clueless about the dynamics of the relationship between Miguel and Athena. He wondered if Miguel also considered Athena his daughter. Did he adopt her?
’Is it Athena or Lanny? Who is he referring to?’ Dominique pondered, eyeing Miguel suspiciously.
"Why would you do that, Mr. Ivankov?" Dominique asked, the crease on his forehead deepening as he tried to comprehend Miguel’s intentions.
His mind raced with questions about why Miguel would bring up such a topic and whether there was a hidden agenda behind his words.
"Because I can see that you are quite fond of my grandson," Miguel remarked with a knowing smile, leaning back in his chair. "It just so happens that Aaron is also searching for his father. And from what I can see, he views you as a father figure."
Dominique’s mind raced as he processed Miguel’s words. The implications of Aaron seeking his father and potentially seeing Dominique in that light struck him deeply, yet it also brought a sense of warmth to his heart.
He recalled the monts he had shared with Aaron, the quiet conversations and the tis they had bonded over shared interests.
He knew that Aaron longed for his father. But he was also aware that Aaron believed that his biological father wanted to get rid of him even before he was born into this world.
That was a misunderstanding he still needed to clear to fix his relationship with both Aaron and Sabrina aka Athena.
"Mr. Ivankov... thank you for letting know what Aaron thought of . I feel so flattered. I’ve always felt a connection with Aaron and I would like to get to know Aaron better," Dominique admitted.
"But regarding your daughter..." Dominique paused, his brow furrowing with uncertainty. "Forgive , but whose daughter are you referring to?"
Miguel arched an eyebrow slightly, confusion resurfacing on his face. "Haven’t you t Aaron’s mother yet? Lanny Ivankov. Does her na not ring a bell to you?"
Dominique’s eyes widened at the realization. ’So my assumption is right. Miguel Ivankov has no idea that Aaron is Athena’s son, not Lanny’s son.’
anwhile, Miguel took Dominique’s shocked expression as a sign of recognition. ’Hmm. He knows her.’
"Y-Yes. I know her... I’ve t her several tis already." Dominique responded, lowering his gaze.
Miguel misinterpreted Dominique’s reaction, believing it was due to so shared history with Lanny. After all, Miguel believed Dominique was the father of the twins.
"Grandpa! Uncle Dom!" Aaron’s voice was heard from the stairs, interrupting the two.
He ca from his room. Just an hour ago, the young boy received Dominique’s ssage asking for his address. He imdiately sent the location of the villa without informing his grandpa.
"You are here!" Aaron excitedly strode toward them.
"Alright. Let’s talk about this so other ti. You have to focus on teaching Aaron today." Miguel decided to drop the topic since his grandson suddenly showed up.
He decided not to tell Dominique about what he knew. Besides, his next action would depend on Dominique’s decision.
Miguel was the one who brought up the topic of Divorce and introducing Dominique to Lanny. He just hoped Dominique understood his hints.
On the other hand, Dominique struggled to contain his emotions. The mont Aaron approached him, Dominique couldn’t resist the urge to envelop the young boy in a tight embrace.
"Aaron," he murmured softly, his voice filled with a mixture of longing and affection.
Both Aaron and Miguel were taken aback by Dominique’s unexpected display of emotion. Aaron, sensing the sincerity in Dominique’s embrace, hesitated for a mont before tentatively returning the hug.
Miguel, observing the interaction with keen interest, couldn’t help but feel a twinge of satisfaction at seeing Dominique’s genuine connection with his grandson.
"Aaron, your Uncle Dom is here to spend ti with you and teach you," Miguel announced warmly. "Make the most of this opportunity and make him feel at ho."
Dominique released Aaron from the hug, though he kept a hand on the boy’s shoulder, reluctant to let go completely. He glanced at Miguel and said, "Thank you, Mr. Ivankov, for allowing to bond with your grandson. I truly appreciate this warm welco from you."
"Don’t worry, Grandpa. I will do my best to entertain Uncle Dom. besides, he is our esteed guest for today." Aaron giggled giddily after saying that.
Dominique smiled back, his heart swelling with affection. ’I’m here now son,’ he thought. ’I’ll do my best to make up for all the tis I wasn’t by your side.’
