Lanny’s jaw dropped when the man who borrowed her charger finally revealed his identity. She didn’t expect that Dmitri De Luca would pretend like a simple guy. He didn’t even bring a bodyguard from the De Luca Family.
’Is he making fun of ? Did he recognize already, that’s why he approached earlier?’ Lanny mused to herself. She didn’t know what to feel at this mont.
She stayed rooted in her spot but Dmitri was the one who walked toward her.
"Shall we go ho?" Dmitri smiled gorgeously and added, "Honey?"
Lanny’s eyes widened in disbelief when she heard that. "Honey, your ass!"
"What kind of prank is this? Are you playing with , Mr. De Luca?" Lanny didn’t hide her displeasure and annoyance.
Dmitri just looked at her with his innocent eyes. "Of course not."
Lanny wrinkled her eyebrows, grabbing Dmitri by his collar.
"You approached first. Have you recognized already? What took you so long to call ? Why didn’t you tell that you were Dmitri? And who is your wife?" Lanny bombarded him with so many questions.
Dmitri maintained his cool deanor as he faced Lanny’s temper. He just held her hands that were holding his collar and he looked straight into her eyes, still smiling.
"Relax. Let answer one question at a ti, Honey."
"Don’t call Honey!" Lanny glared at him, releasing his collar.
Dmitri let out another husky chuckle. "Why not? You are the wife I am referring to. That’s why I’m calling you Honey."
"Or perhaps, do you want to call you wifey... or sweety?" he added jokingly.
"I’m serious, Mr. De Luca. I’m not your wife yet," she retorted.
"But you will be my wife soon," he insisted.
"And to answer your other queries... as you know my phone battery beca empty, that’s why I wasn’t able to call you the mont I arrived. I decided to wait."
"At first, I didn’t recognize you when I approached you, borrowing your charger. But as I sat quietly, I noticed your familiar face."
"I engaged in a conversation with you. I planned to ask you but then the commotion happened. I was surprised that you mistook the conceited guy, thinking he was ."
Lanny wasn’t satisfied with his explanation. "You should have told that you were Dmitri."
"I tried to... But the bodyguard kept on interrupting us," he reasoned out.
"I planned to reveal my identity if you agreed to treat to dinner. But you suddenly walked away. So I have no choice but to call you."
Lanny just took a deep sigh. She couldn’t get mad at this guy because he was an important guest. Her father gave her the task of taking care of him.
"Fine. I believe you. Now co with . I’ll feed you at my place."
Dmitri’s face brightened up. He nodded frantically as he obediently followed Lanny to the parking area.
"Stop calling honey. Our engagent is not yet official," she reminded him. "I bet you ca here to get to know first. Am I right?"
"You can convince your father to dissolve the agreent between our two families if you don’t like as a person." Lanny was straightforward to Dmitri.
But Dmitri just gave her a confident smile and said, "Trust , Honey. I won’t change my mind."
Lanny watched him in disbelief. "You are kidding , right?!"
"No," he declared. "I’m serious."
Lanny just shrugged her shoulders before guiding him to her car. "Hop in."
Dmitri thanked her as he stepped into the front passenger seat. He adjusted his seat and settled down comfortably. He also placed his bag on the back passenger seat as he waited for Lanny to enter the car.
Seeing that Lanny and Dmitri left the parking area, Vladimir’s subordinate reported to his Boss.
"Sir, Miss Lanny, and Mr. De Luca are now on the way to her condo unit. Should we follow them?"
"Yes. Just make sure that our important guest arrives at her place safe and sound. After that, you can leave and go back to your respective stations," Vladimir instructed him.
"We got it, Boss."
As the call ended, Vladimir’s subordinate escorted and followed Lanny’s car. Those n almost interfered a while ago when the rude bodyguard kept harassing Lanny. Fortunately, Dmitri dealt with the bodyguard by himself.
On the other hand, Vladimir contacted his father once again to give him so updates. He didn’t know why Miguel’s phone was unattended earlier.
In his last attempt, the call finally got connected.
"Hello, Vlad." Miguel’s authoritative voice was heard from the other line.
"I just called to give you an update. Lanny t Dmitri. They are now on the way to her place."
Miguel nodded with a smirk. "Good. I hope they will get along well. How is it? What can you say about their first eting?"
Vladimir paused for a mont, checking the video footage sent by his subordinates. He ordered them to closely monitor Lanny when he left the airport. He was afraid Lanny would make a ruckus if she lost her temper.
Fortunately, Lanny beca patient in dealing with the conceited celebrity and Dmitri who didn’t reveal his real identity right away.
"Everything went smoothly. It looks like Dmitri De Luca was enjoying my sister’s company," Vladimir inford his father based on his observation of the video clips.
"Hmm. It’s nice. I hope Lanny can maintain this. She has to make a good impression so that the De Luca Family will be happy to welco her as part of their family soon." Miguel had a high expectation for this.
"Don’t worry, Sir. Lanny can prove to everyone she is suited for him." Vladimir didn’t call him father. Lanny and Vladimir had to call Miguel "Sir" most of the ti.
Miguel was taken aback for a mont. He noticed that Vladimir was rooting for Lanny.
’Lanny and Vladimir look like they are getting along well. I wonder if there is no more competition between them.’ Miguel mused to himself.
"Grandpa! Grandpa! Let’s go!" Aaron tugged Miguel’s sleeve as he pulled him toward the boarding gate.
The young boy was excited because they were returning to York City together with Kimmy and Miguel.
"Alright. I have to go." Miguel ended the call.
