[ At Smith Mansion... ]

Sasha was busy in the kitchen as she cooked several dishes for tonight. She invited Ashton and Athena to co over.

"Mam, Sir Dominique has arrived," the maid inford Sasha.

"Oh. Co here. Take cover for . I have to welco my husband." Sasha removed her apron as she strode out of the kitchen.

"Babe!" She excitedly called Dominique, running in his direction.

She hugged him as soon as she reached his spot.

"How’s work today?" She asked, removing Dominique’s coat.

"Fine," he lazily responded.

"By the way, Dom, we are expecting visitors tonight," she inford him, her eyes gleaming with excitent.

Dominique frowned. "Who?"

"Who else? Of course, your best friend, Ashton!"

"OK." he casually responded, heading upstairs.

"But we also have another guest. Ashton’s future girlfriend!" Sasha declared, not yet revealing Athena’s na.

Dominique didn’t look interested at all. He just nodded before entering the room.

He slumped his body on the bed while removing his tie. He was tired and he didn’t plan on joining them.

Besides, he had already eaten outside together with his secretary and the representative of their potential investor.

"Mr. V stood up tonight," Dominique mumbled in annoyance as he rubbed his temples.

This mysterious businessman who goes by the na Mr. V sets a eting with him tonight. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Mr. V wasn’t able to co because he had a prior commitnt of equal importance.

Vladimir was also looking forward to eting Dominique face-to-face. However, he received a ssage that Dmitri De Luca was arriving tonight. Vladimir had no choice but to accompany Lanny to the airport.

Dominique closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. Sharing his tragic past with Enzo triggered his unwanted mories as if his past wound had been reopened.

He was restless for the past few days, experiencing sleepless nights because he was haunted again by his ugly past.

He was distracted at work and he began isolating himself. This was the reason why he never contacted Athena for the past few days. Every ti he cos ho, he looks so tired.

After a few minutes...

Dominique began tossing and turning, his brow furrowed in distress. His breathing beca erratic, his chest rising and falling rapidly. Beads of sweat ford on his forehead and other parts of his body, soaking his clothes.

It was a nightmare!

In his dream, he found himself standing in a cold dark place. The eerie silence was soon broken by the faint echo of distant screams.

"Sis?! Mom... Dad!"

Dominique saw his family, their faces twisted in agony, reaching out to him for help.

"Sis... Mom! Dad! Don’t go!" Dominique scread, running to them.

But the scene shifted as his family disappeared. And soone precious to him reappeared. It was Sabrina.

"Dominique! Why did you let this happen? You killed ... and our unborn child! This is your fault! I will never forgive you!"

Sabrina’s voice echoed around him, full of pain and accusation. She was standing before him, bloodstains on her clothes, tears streaming down her face and her hands holding her flat belly.

"Sab... I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry..." Dominique apologized over and over again as he began to weep, his eyes filled with remorse.

"Dominique Smith... I regret loving you...I hope in my next life, our paths won’t cross again." Sabrina’s words continued to pierce his heart.

As he kneeled, the scene shifted once again. The shadows closed in around him, gripping him with cold, clawed hands.

Peals of sinister laughter echoed in his ears.

"Die! Haha! You will never win."

"Even though you achieve your goal, you will never be happy!"

"You are also going to die an ugly death!"

He looked up only to see Albert Williams and the man with a scar on his face strangling his neck.

He struggled to break free, but the more he fought, the tighter their hold beca. His breath ca short, frantic gasps, and he felt his heart pounding in his chest.

"Argh!"

Dominique’s groan echoed in his room.

When he felt like he was going to die from suffocation, a voice called out to him, cutting through the darkness.

"Dominique!"

’Wait? Is that Sabrina?’ He pondered to himself. But to his surprise, Sabrina’s voice didn’t have a hint of hatred. She sounded worried as she called his na.

"Hey, Dominique! Dom! Wake up!"

He felt a gentle tap on his shoulder and face. He jerked awake, sitting up abruptly in his bed. His body was drenched in sweat. His heart was still racing, struggling to catch his breath.

"Hey, it was just a dream. Calm down." A familiar female voice caught his attention. She was rubbing his back and his shoulders.

Hearing that voice, his racing heart had finally cald down. He gazed up only to see a woman wearing a mask. Her scent, her eyes, and her voice were familiar.

’She’s not Sabrina... It’s her. Athena.’ Dominique didn’t know whether he should feel glad or disappointed.

’What is she doing here? Am I still dreaming?’ he mused to himself.

Athena gently caressed his cheeks, wiping away the tears in his eyes. Dominique cried in his sleep.

At that certain mont, Dominique’s body subconsciously moved. He pulled Athena into a tight hug. Upon seeing her beautiful face, Dominique realized that he had missed this woman.

He tightened his grip on her body as he buried his face on her chest, his nose slling her fragrance. Her sweet scent soothed his troubled mind, removing the remnants of his nightmare. His body finally relaxed as he felt her warmth.

"Dom... Let go. Soone is coming!" Athena tried to push him away as she could hear the approaching footsteps.

They couldn’t afford to be caught right now by Ashton and Sasha.

"Dom! Stop! Release now! They are coming!" Athena reminded him urgently.

Instead of letting her go, Dominique got off the bed, still holding her tightly.

"Dom! Babe! Are you there?" Sasha’s voice echoed from behind the door.

Athena’s eyes widened in panic. ’Oh Shit! Sasha is here.’

Creak!

The sound of the door being pushed open filled the room.
