[ At V Club... ]
Lanny arrived at her brother’s club. The staff recognized her so they were so polite when welcoming her. She imdiately looked for her brother.
"Hey, Bro. Wazzup!" Lanny greeted him with a wide smile.
Vladimir blinked in surprise when he saw her. "Why are you here? Where’s Athena?"
Vladimir looked past her as his eyes scanned his surroundings. There was a hint of excitent on his face, thinking about Athena. He thought Lanny went there together with Athena.
anwhile, Lanny chuckled at his reaction.
"Sorry to disappoint you, brother. Athena is not with . I ca alone."
He frowned and scowled at her. "I don’t want you here. Go and sit at a different table."
"Haha. No way! Don’t ask to leave. Let’s drink!"
Lanny moved closer to Vladimir, wrapping her arm around his shoulder.
Vladimir pursed his lips, feeling a bit annoyed because of Lanny’s playfulness.
"Stop bothering . You should have brought Enzo with you!" Vladimir complained.
The mischievous smile on Lanny’s face disappeared at the ntion of Enzo’s na. She hit the back of his head before distancing herself from him.
Vladimir lifted his eyebrow upon noticing the changes in her expression.
"Did you co here because of him? Did the two of you fight?" he asked her curiously.
"Mind your own business," Lanny responded, drinking her beer.
There was a mont of silence between the siblings. They just focused on their respective drinks.
After a while, Vladimir spoke again, opening a new conversation with her.
"I’m planning to et Dominique Smith. Don’t tell Athena about it."
Lanny hastily turned in his direction. "What are you planning? I thought you promised Athena that you wouldn’t interfere."
"Relax. I’m not going to do anything. I just want to et the stupid jerk who caused Athena’s misery." Vladimir smirked.
"Besides, I’m thankful to him. He let go of her. That’s why I got to know her," he added.
Lanny shook her head helplessly. "Don’t et him. You have a hot temper and low patience. What if you suddenly create a scene?! I don’t trust your behavior. You might end up picking a fight with him."
The crease on Vladimir’s forehead deepened upon hearing that.
"Of course not. I can do anything for Athena. I can control my temper for her sake," Vladimir said with conviction.
Lanny chuckled once more, tapping her brother’s shoulder. "We will see. But what will you do after eting her ex-husband? Don’t tell you are going to introduce yourself as Athena’s suitor?"
"No. I will introduce myself as an investor. I will buy stocks of his company. Athena wants revenge, right? I will help her steal her ex-husband’s company!"

Vladimir expressed his willingness to support Athena in her quest for revenge.
Lanny nodded. "Fine. Do what you want. Just make sure you won’t be a hindrance to Athena’s plan."
Lanny didn’t argue further. For now, she had to trust Vladimir’s good intentions. As long as his action would benefit Athena, she wouldn’t stop him.
"Cheers, Bro!" Lanny clinked glasses with Vladimir.
Lanny wanted to forget her failed seduction to Enzo so she decided to drown herself tonight with alcohol.
"Don’t drink too much. I won’t drive you ho." Vladimir warned her.
But Lanny just stuck her tongue out. "I can go ho by myself!"
Vladimir just let Lanny enjoy her drinks. The siblings accompanied each other but they were not talking.
The loud music echoed inside the club. The clients and custors danced to their heart’s content.
As Lanny observed the crowd, her phone vibrated. She received a text ssage from Athena.
[ Did you go out? My brother called , asking if I was with you. He is worried about you. Are you okay? Did the two of you fight? ]
Athena was still in the Golden Villa. Dominique didn’t allow her to go ho.
"Hmm. So Enzo called his sister to find out my whereabouts. Did he believe my words? I was just kidding. I’m not going to hook up with another man." Lanny grinned playfully.
Lanny typed her response ssage to Athena.
[ Yes. I went out. I’m here at V Club, drinking beer together with my brother. Don’t mind Enzo. I was just bluffing earlier. By the way, where are you? Vladimir is looking for you. ]
A few seconds later, Lanny received Athena’s reply.
[ Dominique’s place. We are finalizing our contract. I won’t be able to go ho tonight. ]
Lanny simply glanced at her brother, Vladimir, after reading Athena’s ssage. She imdiately deleted it. She knew that Vladimir would be jealous once he learned that Athena was sleeping over at Dominique’s place.
[ You have to be careful, Athena. Don’t let that jerk take advantage of you. ]
She was still concerned if Athena hadn’t completely moved on. She just hoped Athena’s feelings would no longer be affected by Dominique’s presence.
[ Thanks, Lanny. Don’t worry too much. I know how to deal with him. I got this. I’m in control of the situation. I just gained fifteen percent shares of W Diamond Group. It will not take long and I will beco the largest stockholder of the company. ] Athena shared the good news with Lanny.
Lanny giggled upon reading her last ssage.
Vladimir noticed her reaction so he got curious.
"Whom are you talking to? Is that Athena?"
Vladimir moved closer to Lanny to take a peek at her phone.
"Go away, V!" Lanny pushed him away, hiding her phone from him.
Vladimir tried to snatch her phone. Then suddenly, the phone rang. Lanny and Vladimir exchanged glances with one another after seeing the caller ID.

"Father?!" Both of them exclaid in unison.
They were puzzled as to why Miguel Ivankov was calling Lanny at this hour.
"Answer it!" Lanny reflexively placed the phone on Vladimir’s hand.
Vladimir furrowed his eyebrows. "Why ?! He is calling you, not !"
Vladimir handed the phone back to her.
"Go outside! You can’t hear him here. The music is so loud!" Vladimir pulled her up.
Lanny pouted her lips before heading to the club’s exit.
"Good Luck! Enjoy talking to our old man!" Vladimir shouted, teasing her further.
Lanny just glared at him, raising her middle finger.
A mont later, Lanny found a quiet place where she could talk to her father. She finally pressed the answer button.
"What took you so long to answer?" Miguel’s cold voice echoed from the other line.
’Damn! The old man is upset for not being able to answer his phone call right away.’ Lanny bit her lower lip.
"Sorry, Dad. It’s evening here. I woke up after hearing my ringtone," she lied.
"Why did you suddenly call ? Is there sothing wrong?" she asked him expectantly.
"I called to inform you that Dmitri De Luca will be visiting Country Z this week. I want you to tour him around the city. Let him stay in your house. Be his guide. It’s ti to get to know him."
Miguel’s order was absolute. He didn’t give Lanny a room to refuse.
A few weeks ago, Vladimir had ntioned this to Lanny. Miguel Ivankov was negotiating with De Luca Clan for an arranged marriage between the two families.
’Gosh! He is serious about marrying off to the eldest son of the De Luca Family.’ Lanny thought to herself, rubbing the space between her eyebrows.
"Okay, Dad. I understand. Just give the exact ti and date of his arrival. I will fetch him at the airport."
Lanny was obedient to her father. She couldn’t afford to offend him. She wasn’t powerful enough to go against her father right now.
"Good. I will leave Dmitri in your care. Make sure not to offend or disappoint him. Understand?" Miguel said in his authoritative voice.
"Okay, Dad. I’ll do that. By the way, how’s the twins?" Lanny changed the topic.
"They are doing fine. My grandchildren are studying hard. I will bring them to De Luca’s mansion tomorrow to et Dmitri. He is aware that you are a single mother."
Lanny pursed her lips as her face contorted. ’My father is truly determined to match with Dmitri. He is acting like a bridge between us. Sigh. I wonder if the twins will like Dmitri or not.’
After relaying his important ssage and instructions to his daughter, Miguel bade goodbye to Lanny.
When the call ended, Lanny tugged her hair and scread in annoyance.
"Damn it! I don’t want to marry soone! But I can’t refuse my father!"
Lanny stomped her feet and kicked the garbage can in front of her to release her frustration.
"Is he a psychic?! My father got the perfect timing! Enzo will be leaving my unit. And now, I have to take care of a new guy, letting him stay in my place." Lanny couldn’t believe this.
"Dmitri... What kind of person is he?" She pondered to herself, taking a deep sigh.
"I have no choice. I will take charge of his protection and well-being once he arrives here. I hope I can get along well with him."
