[ At Golden Villa... ]

When Dominique woke up, Athena was no longer in her bed. He got off the long couch to search for her around the house.

When he headed downstairs, he was greeted by Ashton.

"Good morning, Bro! So this is where you are hiding from your wife. Aren’t you going to return ho?" Ashton asked him worriedly.

Dominique narrowed his eyes at the ntion of Sasha’s na. "I don’t wanna talk about her," he said with finality.

Ashton imdiately shut his mouth. He felt sohow guilty. He felt like he was the reason why Dominique beca more angry at Sasha.

When he revealed to him what he saw a few nights ago, Dominique didn’t reply to his last ssage anymore. ’I shouldn’t have told him about Sasha and Timothy. I made their situation worsen.’ Ashton regretted it. He felt sorry for Sasha.

’Should I convince Dom to give Sasha the benefit of the doubt? But he said he didn’t want to talk about her.’

Ashton was having an internal debate while Dominique road around the house looking for Athena. He felt sohow disappointed when he didn’t see any signs of her.

’She had already left... without saying goodbye to .’ Dominique’s expression darkened. He was displeased.

However, when he went to the dining area, he was surprised to see food covered with cloche. There was also a small note placed on the surface of the glass dish cover.

Athena prepared breakfast for him and left him a ssage.

[ Make sure to eat your breakfast. I have to go ho early because of my work. I didn’t wake you up. See you around. ~ Athena ]

Dominique felt touched when he saw the note and the food she prepared for him. His disappointnt disappeared instantly. He was reminded again of Sabrina.

She always cooked for him, preparing breakfast before going to work. Sabrina was a very dedicated housewife.

His heart clenched once again as he thought about Sabrina. He pulled a chair and sat down. The dining area was engulfed with silence.

Even though Dominique didn’t have any appetite, he tried to eat and finish the food. It did not take long before Ashton joined him.

"Wow. I haven’t eaten breakfast either." Ashton was about to pick sothing on his plate to taste the food but Dominique quickly hit his hand, not allowing him to touch his food.

"Ouch. Let have a bite. I’m hungry." Ashton complained, pouting his lips.

But Dominique covered his plate using his left hand while looking daggers at Ashton. This breakfast was prepared for him by Athena. He wouldn’t allow Ashton to have a single bite of his food.

"Go and buy your food," Dominique sternly said. He ignored him as he continued eating his food.

Ashton frowned as he watched him helplessly. ’He asked to be here yet he didn’t even have a plan to feed . What a selfish friend!’ In the end, Ashton just ordered food.

"How’s your injury? Do you want to feed you?" Ashton decided to tease him because he saw that Dominique was struggling to hold his spoon using his left hand.

"Shut up!" Dominique glowered his eyes on Ashton.

He imdiately zipped his mouth. Dominique was still moody.

"Seriously speaking Dom, what is your plan? How long are you going to stay here? You can’t hide from Sasha forever. You have to talk to her and fix your issues. She is still your wife." Ashton was worried about them. He wanted Sasha and Dominique to reconcile soon.

But Dominique maintained his cold deanor. He couldn’t forgive Sasha. Seeing her would always remind him of his betrayal to Sabrina.

"I’ve decided. I won’t return to our house. I don’t want to see her," Dominique said seriously.

Ashton could only sigh in defeat. He couldn’t force Dominique to reconcile with Sasha. His best friend was stubborn.

"How did you know that I was here?" Dominique asked Ashton. He never ntioned to him that he was staying in a Golden Villa.

’Eh? Did he forget? He was the one who told to co here.’

Ashton was about to remind him of their conversation earlier through their text ssages when the doorbell rang.

Ding! Dong!

Dominique gestured for Ashton to open the door for him. Ashton just nodded, complying with his request.

Dominique followed him behind. As Ashton reached the door and opened it, Clint greeted his sight.

"Oh, Chief Espinas? Why are you here so early?" Ashton was familiar with him. He was known as the youngest head of the York City Police Departnt.

"Is Dominique here?" Clint inquired.

"I’m here," Dominique butted in.

Clint looked at him worriedly. Last night, he heard a loud crashing sound in the background and Dominique didn’t finish their conversation.

"Are you okay, Dom?" Clint inquired.

Dominique just ignored his question. "Why are you here?"

Clint raised the envelope he was holding. "I got the DNA Test result. Here. Check it out."

Dominique accepted it.

"What is that?" Ashton asked them with intrigue.

Clint was about to reply but he closed his mouth when he saw the warning look from Dominique.

’Dominique is good at avoiding my questions.’ Ashton put on a pitiful face.

Dominique motioned for Clint to co inside. They settled on the couch. There was a mont of silence as Dominique scrutinized the envelope. He was gathering his courage to see the docunt inside.

He took a deep breath before tearing the envelope. Ashton and Clint watched him silently on the opposite couch.

A few seconds later, they saw Dominique’s left hand crumple the docunt and he looked utterly devastated. The DNA result was over ninety percent matched.

The X-ray record, dental record, and even the DNA test showed that the remains they found was none other than Sabrina.

’She’s dead. She’s gone... I can no longer ask for her forgiveness. She’s not coming back anymore.’ Dominique felt like every ounce of his energy was drained.

He let the crumpled docunt fall to the floor as he leaned back. He wanted to cry but he couldn’t. He was tired of crying. He couldn’t do it in front of his friends– Ashton and Clint.

anwhile, Ashton kept darting his gaze back and forth between Dominique and Clint. He was still clueless about what was going on there.

He leaned closer to Clint and whispered, "What is this all about?"

Clint whispered back, "I think we’ve finally found Sabrina’s remains."

Ashton gasped and his eyes widened when he heard that. "For real? You found her–" he exclaid.

"Sshhhh!" Clint covered Ashton’s mouth. Fortunately, Dominique was no longer paying attention to them.

"You can leave now," Dominique’s cold voice was heard. He rose from his seat and walked toward the staircase.

Clint and Ashton just watched his retreating back with a concerned look on their faces.

"Do you think he still loves Sabrina?" Clint asked Ashton about his opinion.

Ashton’s eyes turned sad as he bobbed his head. "Yes, I think so. He admitted to just recently that he finally realized his feelings for Sabrina."

Clint picked up the crumpled paper and checked the result. Then he shook his head helplessly. "It’s too late now. His remaining hope has been shattered today. Sigh."

"Athena!" She called out.

Lanny caught Athena’s attention when she scread. She was working on her laptop when her friend showed up.

Lanny ran in her direction, grabbing his shoulders. "Hey, what happened? Why did you sleep at Dominique’s place? Have you seen my brother? He has been looking for you!" She bombarded Athena with so many questions.

Athena just smiled at her faintly before hugging Lanny. She had been feeling down ever since Vladimir left her house. She felt guilty for lying to him about Dominique.

"Lanny... our plan is working. Dominique took the bait. He accepted my indecent proposal of becoming his woman... however..." she paused for a mont as she hesitated.

"However what?!" Lanny asked her expectantly.

"Your brother, Vladimir..." Athena bit her lower lip, making it more suspenseful.

"What? What did my cold-hearted brother do?" Lanny shook Athena’s shoulders. "Don’t tell he found you and Dominique?! Did he beat your jerk ex-husband?"

Athena giggled softly before shaking her head. "He didn’t."

"So what did he do?"

"He confessed to ..." Athena felt a little bit embarrassed. She didn’t know how Lanny would react if she heard this.

"Holy fuck! He did it?!" She exclaid.

Athena jolted at Lanny’s over-dramatic reaction.

"He finally confessed! Hahahah!" Lanny burst out laughing. "I knew it! He was threatened by Dominique because he told him he was your boyfriend."

Athena blinked several tis as she looked at Lanny with disbelief and amusent.

"So... you knew it all along?" Athena asked her.

Lanny bobbed her head frantically. "Of course! You’ve always been my trump card against him. I could make him obey because of you!"

Athena:"..."
