Chapter 82– The Tension Between Us

Tyler's POV

"I do not want to talk to you. Leave alone. Go and talk to soone else."

Logan's voice was cold, filled with nothing but disgust.

The sharp sting of his rejection hit straight in the chest, but I refused to back down.

"The more you keep fighting ... the more people will start suspecting." I kept my voice low, my eyes locked onto his. "So if you really don't want that..."

"Then let's talk. Please."

I reached for his hand, gripping his wrist tightly.

Logan yanked his hand away, but I refused to let go.

His stubbornness was driving insane.

I exhaled sharply, my patience running thin. Without thinking, I grabbed both our books from the table and dragged him out of the classroom.

"Tyler—what the fuck are you doing?!" Logan struggled against my grip, trying to free himself.

But I didn't stop.

I kept pulling him down the hallway, past the empty corridors, until I found an unused classroom—the one that had been abandoned for months.

The windows were shut, the air inside thick with dust, making the room dim and eerily silent.

I shoved Logan inside and locked the door behind us.

Finally... we were alone.

I leaned against the door, my chest rising and falling as I tried to catch my breath. Logan stood across from , his eyes burning with pure rage.

"You've completely lost your mind." He growled.

"Maybe." I muttered, running a hand through my hair. "But you're still going to talk to ."

Logan let out a bitter laugh.

"I don't know how else to tell you this, Logan, but you need to talk to about why you are this angry ." My voice was sharp and low at the sa ti.

"Let go. I don't want to have any conversation with you about why I'm angry."

"I'll be coming to your house once the practical starts so we can get this stupid project over with. That's all."

He took a step closer, his glare intensifying.

"Trust , we haven't even started, and I'm already praying for the mont this project is finished because I can't stand another second with you."

And then—he spat on the floor.

My stomach twisted.

Anger. Hurt.

So that's it? He'd already made up his mind. He wasn't even willing to hear out.

Even the project—the one thing I thought could give a chance to talk to him—was pointless.

Why the fuck is he this angry?

I swallowed the lump in my throat, forcing myself to stay calm.

"Please, Logan, I'm begging you." My voice ca out softer than I intended. "Talk to so I can know what I did to make you this mad. If I ssed up, I'll apologize."

"Talk to you?" Logan scoffed, shaking his head. "Why don't you go ask that slut you call your girlfriend why I'm angry?"

His words hit harder than a punch to the gut.

I felt it—deep in my chest.

But I didn't let it show.

Instead, I smirked.

So this really was about Naomi.

I couldn't help it—I burst into laughter.

Logan's eyes darkened, his jaw clenching tightly.

"The fuck is so funny?"

"You." I chuckled, crossing my arms over my chest. "You look so fucking cute when you're jealous."

"I'm not jealous." He spat again, his voice shaking slightly.

"Naomi isn't my girlfriend." I said softly, my heart pounding as I took a step closer to him.

"Oh, really? Then explain why she was all over you in class..." Logan's voice was laced with bitterness, like the words disgusted him. "Or why she's been telling everyone you two are dating."

He let out a sharp breath, his fists tightening.

"Explain why she told the whole school outside the hall that you were hers."

I opened my mouth to speak, but no words ca out.

Logan's lips curled into a bitter smirk.

"Exactly."

"You think I'm that dumb, don't you?" His voice was dangerously calm. "You really thought I wouldn't notice?"

I swallowed hard, guilt tightening in my chest.

"Logan... please... just let explain—"

"Explain what?" He cut off, stepping closer until his face was only inches from mine.

"That you're a coward?"

I opened my mouth to protest, but before I could say anything—

"Tyler?"

A familiar voice echoed through the room.

Logan and I both snapped our heads toward the door.

Standing there... with her arms crossed and an irritating smirk plastered on her face... was Naomi.

"Speak of the devil," Logan muttered under his breath.

I took a slow step back, putting distance between us.

"Well, well, well... look who we have here." He smirked. "Your beloved baby."

My whole body tensed as Naomi's eyes flicked between and Logan, suspicion clear on her face.

Shit.

I was still holding Logan's wrist.

I quickly dropped his hand, stepping away like I had just been caught red-handed.

Naomi's smirk widened.

"Hope I'm not interrupting anything... private?"

"Oh no, Naomi, you aren't interrupting anything." I crossed my arms, pretending like I hadn't just been holding Logan's hand, practically begging for his forgiveness.

"If that's the case," she said, her voice sickeningly sweet, "then why do you look so guilty?"

I stiffened.

"E-Em—" I stamred.

Naomi tilted her head, her smirk never fading.

"Oh? Suddenly, you can't talk, Tyler?" She laughed mockingly. "That's funny, because earlier, you had so much to say."

She was overdoing it.

Way too much.

She needed to rember that this was just fake dating.

She wasn't actually my girlfriend.

So why the fuck was she acting like one?

My subconscious mocked .

"Why don't you tell her the truth?"

"And let her find out what's really going on between and Logan? Hell no."

Naomi turned her attention to Logan, irritation flashing in her eyes.

"And you?" She scoffed, arms crossed. "Why are you with my boyfriend?"

Logan didn't react. He just stared at her, unblinking.

I held my breath, silently praying that Logan wouldn't say sothing cruel—because one an word from him could send Naomi spiraling.

But Naomi wasn't done. She took a step closer to Logan, her eyes burning with frustration.

"Are you deaf? What are you doing with my boyfriend in this dark place?"

"Why are you always hovering around him?" Her voice was sharp. "Did Alexis or whatever her na is send you to spy on him?"

Logan finally exhaled, slow and asured.

I prayed harder.

Please don't say sothing that'll make this worse.

But of course, this was Logan.

He tilted his head slightly, then spoke in the calst voice imaginable—

"I think the question you should be asking is—why is your boyfriend monitoring and refusing to let go?"

Naomi froze.

"Why did your boyfriend drag to this empty classroom?" Logan continued.

"Why was your boyfriend holding my hand when you walked in?"

His words sliced through the air like a blade.

Naomi turned to , her expression shifting from anger to... heartbreak.

Her voice was small when she spoke.

"Babe... is it true?"

I swallowed hard.

"Don't tell it's true," she whispered, her eyes pleading. "Because you were the one who told that he was a nobody. That you didn't even know him."

She took a shaky step back.

"That you had never seen him before."
