Chapter 155- Are You Still Daring
Declan POV
She should be glad that I even want to taste it again. Any woman would've taken it as a complint, but not Beatrice. No, not her.
She acts like she's untouchable now. Like she's above . But she wasn't too high and mighty when she was giving that guard everything I once owned. Letting that bastard touch her, kiss her, sleep next to her.
That alone makes my blood boil.
Because it should've been . Only .
Not him. Not anyone else.
.
"When you're done daydreaming about my nipple, let know so we can start looking for Tyler," she said suddenly, snapping out of my head.
I felt my heart drop to my stomach. Her words hit like cold water. My face burned, and for a second, I wished the ground would open up and swallow whole.
But then, I rembered who the hell I was.
I'm Declan.
The sa Declan who once owned her. The sa Declan who touched every inch of her body. And whether she likes it or not, those nipples... they were once mine. And in my mind, they still are.
I raised my chin and stared at her with a smirk. She thinks I should feel ashad? Please.
She turned to again with that wicked little smile and said, "No matter how much you look at these sexy nipples of mine, you're never going to have a taste of them again. You'll watch other people touch them, suck them, enjoy them, but you? You'll never have them."
That was it.
Those words? They lit sothing inside . Sothing dark. Sothing hot.
My hands clenched into fists.
Was she testing ?
Was she daring ?
I arched my brow. "Are you... daring ?"
She didn't answer.
Instead, she turned to grab her top from the couch. I watched her pick it up, but just before she could pull it over her head—I moved.
I stepped up to her and yanked the shirt out of her hands.
Her eyes widened in shock.
"Declan!" she snapped. "Give it to !"
She reached out, trying to snatch it back, but I held it up above her head. I'm taller than her, and she had to jump to even get close.
"Give my shirt, Declan!" she said again, now getting frustrated.
But I didn't give it back.
I just stood there, staring at her—half-naked, angry, and unbelievably sexy.
Her hand kept reaching, stretching upward, desperate to grab the damn shirt. But she couldn't reach it. I made sure of that.
And then it happened.
Her bare chest brushed against mine.
Her nipple—fuck—it rubbed against .
And God...
That felt like heaven.
Soft. Warm. Alive.
Fucking soft.
Holy shit.
I froze for a second. Just one second. That was all it took for my mind to go blank.
It was like touching fire but wanting to get burned again. My chest tingled where her skin touched mine. Just one nipple. One brush. That's all it took to light up inside like a damn matchstick.
"Give it to , Declan," she said again, her voice low and irritated.
I smirked and raised the shirt even higher.
"And if I don't?" I asked.
"What are you going to do? Jump higher? Keep trying like a little girl? Because even if you do, you still won't reach it."
She stood there, frustrated, breathing harder. I could see her chest rising and falling. That view wasn't helping my situation at all.
"Say it," I continued. "Say what you plan to do. I'm all ears."
I stepped a little closer, tilting my head.
"I dare you. Do whatever it is you think you can do."
I could hear the way she breathed through her nose—sharp, annoyed. She was getting angry, and I was enjoying every second of it.
"What happened, Beatrice?" I asked. "You giving up already? So soon? After all that tough act earlier?"
She didn't say a word. Just hissed under her breath, kissed her teeth in anger, and walked away from like she was done.
She leaned against the wall, arms crossed, looking like a whole damn sin standing there.
Still naked.
Still topless.
Still pissing off.
She didn't even bother covering herself. Maybe she forgot. Or maybe she wanted to keep seeing. Maybe this was her own way of playing dirty. Teasing . Testing .
But how the hell was she supposed to put on anything when I still had her damn shirt in my hands?
I looked at her again—at those nipples, to be specific.
Round. Perky. Staring back at like they knew they were trouble.
Damn it.
If I kept looking any longer, I wasn't sure I'd be able to stop myself. My control was slipping, and she knew it.
But then again... what's the harm in looking?
"Look all you want, Declan," she suddenly said, without even looking at . "It still won't change the fact that you're never going to have a taste of it."
My jaw clenched.
"So sad," she continued, "When you're ready to pass my shirt, let know so I can put it on."
What the actual hell does that an?
I stared at her hard.
Was she... was she daring again?
"Are you daring , Beatrice?" I asked, my voice low.
She didn't respond.
I took a step forward.
"Do you want to show you just how easy it is for to do whatever I want with you? Because I can. And there's nothing you can do to stop ."
That got her attention.
She turned her head, eyes full of challenge, and scoffed.
"I dare you, Declan. You can't do anything. You never could."
Oh.
Wow.
She really just said that?
Now she's stepped on the damn tail of a lion.
I didn't say a word. I just walked.
Step by step.
Straight to where she was standing like she owned the world.
I towered over her, and she lowered her gaze, staring down at the floor like she didn't want to look at . Like she was trying to keep calm.
But I wasn't calm.
Not anymore.
I leaned in—real close. Close enough that she could feel my breath on her skin. Close enough to make her heart skip a beat.
I brought my mouth to her ear and whispered,
"Are you still daring , Beatrice?"
