Chapter 132– The Last Person I Wanted to See

Tyler's POV

I didn't need to raise my head to know who it was.

I already knew that voice.

But still...

I lifted my face slowly—just to be sure.

And just like I feared, it was him.

Logan.

Of all people.

I dropped my head again, this ti out of sha.

I couldn't even look at him.

What was I supposed to say?

"Hey, I'm just sitting in the rain like a hopeless fool. Nice to see you"?

Nothing made sense.

Not in my head. Not in my life.

Especially not now that Logan was here.

I just wanted him to go.

Pretend like he didn't see .

Act like he didn't care—like he always did.

"Leave alone," I muttered.

My body was shaking so badly, my teeth were literally kissing each other.

I couldn't feel my fingers anymore. My skin felt like ice.

But still, I didn't want his help.

Logan's voice was calm, but I could hear the concern under it.

"This is dangerous, Tyler. You could die out here."

He sounded... serious.

Worried.

But I didn't want that from him.

"You're freezing. I can't just leave you like this."

"I said leave !" I barked back, though it ca out weaker than I ant it to.

"I'm fine. I'm going to be okay."

I kept my head low. I didn't want to see the pity in his eyes.

"Tyler," he said firmly, "this doesn't look like okay. Just stand up, let's get you to the car. You need heat. You need to dry off."

I didn't move.

I didn't even answer.

Why was he still here?

What was he even doing here?

How did he find ?

Did soone send him?

"Just go," I whispered under my breath.

"Why can't he just leave like he used to? Be cold. Be distant. That Logan... the one who didn't give a damn... where is he now?"

I wanted that version of Logan.

Not this one.

This one was soft. Concerned. Gentle.

I didn't know how to deal with that.

Then his tone changed.

"Alright, Tyler. You have thirty seconds to stand up and co with or so help God, I'll leave you right here to freeze. If that's what you really want, fine. Die here."

I blinked.

Still didn't move.

Rain had soaked my clothes and my traveling bag was dripping like it had just been dipped into a river.

I was sitting in a pool of cold, dirty water.

If it were any other person standing in front of ...

If it was a stranger...

Even a random driver...

I would have stood up and followed them.

But Logan?

No.

Not him.

I didn't want his help.

I didn't want to feel like I owed him sothing.

Because if I followed him now, it would feel like I was saying, "You win."

Like I was saying, "You saved ."

And I wasn't ready for that.

"I'll figure sothing out," I whispered.

"You should go ho."

My lips were trembling. My whole body was a ss.

Now that the umbrella was over , the rain wasn't pouring on my head anymore...

But it made things worse.

Because now the cold from my soaked clothes began to bite harder.

It felt like ice was crawling on my skin.

I was shivering so bad I could barely speak clearly.

Logan didn't say anything for a mont.

Then—

"Okay," he said quietly.

"If you insist."

He turned around.

Took one step.

Then another.

And just like that, the umbrella was gone from over my head.

The rain returned.

Soaking all over again.

It was like soone flipped the switch back on.

I sat there, teeth clacking, shoulders shaking violently.

I regretted it.

I regretted not following him.

I should've just swallowed my pride and entered that damn car.

But deep down...

I'd rather die in this rain than let Logan be the one to save .

Let soone else help —anyone but him.

It felt like the sky itself was angry that I refused his help.

Because the rain?

It didn't just fall.

It multiplied.

It turned violent.

The drops were no longer just cold—they were painful.

Slapping my skin like belts.

Stinging my face.

My arms.

My neck.

I looked down and saw my arms red—red from the impact.

Every part of my body was trembling.

I couldn't feel my fingers anymore.

My clothes clung to like second skin, dripping with water, heavy with sha.

I was numb.

Completely numb.

The kind of numb that didn't even feel cold anymore.

I couldn't tell if I was shivering or if my body had just given up.

If it were soone else—anyone but Logan or my bastard of a father—I would've jumped into their car without thinking twice.

But this?

This pride?

This sha?

It wouldn't let move.

The place I was sitting wasn't a place people passed by often.

It was near the back end of so small hotels, the kind of area only staff or lost souls like would end up.

Even those trying to lodge a room would pass through the front.

Not here.

So I sat there, accepting my fate.

I was going to die.

And it would be an honorable death.

Because Logan wouldn't be the one to save .

My eyes were closing slowly.

My head was heavy.

My heart was slowing down.

Then I heard it—

A car.

Driving in my direction.

I didn't bother opening my eyes.

Let it co.

Let it drive past.

Let it run over.

Whichever one it chose, I didn't care.

Then...

It stopped.

Right in front of .

I still didn't move.

Didn't even flinch.

It had to be a guest—maybe soone trying to lodge in the hotel.

They'd walk past and mind their business.

But then I heard a voice.

A very familiar voice.

"Are you really going to sit there and freeze to death, Tyler?"

My eyes squeezed tighter.

No.

Not again.

"Or are you going to hide your so-called sha—the sha you act like the sun itself has never seen—and get up, so I can take you sowhere warm?" Logan's voice pierced through the sound of the rain.

I didn't answer right away.

Then weakly, with all the strength I had left, I muttered,

"Leave alone, Logan."

My voice was shaking, just like my body.

I was barely holding on.

"I'm fine. I'll be okay. Just leave alone."

Logan didn't sound amused anymore.

He snapped, "You expect to leave you here? Like this?

Do you know if anything happens to you, the police could arrest ? Detain for not helping you when I had the chance?"

I almost laughed.

"If they arrest you," I said, barely able to talk, "tell them I didn't agree to follow you. Tell them I died a very honorable death."

My eyes were still closed.

I couldn't open them.

They were too heavy.

Everything felt like it was spinning.

"Then tell that to the police yourself when you get better," Logan said.

"Because I'm not leaving you here."

I heard a door open.

Then the sound of fast footsteps.

Splashing through the puddles.

No umbrella this ti.

I forced my eyes open—just a little—and saw him.

Walking through the rain toward like he didn't care that he was getting drenched too.

And before I could say another word...

He reached down and pulled up.

My legs gave way.

But he caught .

He held .
