Chapter 10 – The Wedding II

Logan's POV

"That's right," my father confird, taking a sip of his wine.

The knife in my hand paused mid-cut.

I lifted my head slowly. "Wait... is it the Tyler I know and we all know that is getting married or another Tyler?"

"The one and only Tyler."

I frowned, setting my knife down. "You an to tell that after all these years, Tyler's dad is finally marrying Tyler's mom?"

The laugh my father let out was sharp, dry, mocking. "Of course not. What kind of fairytale are you living in, boy? They've been divorced for years."

I tensed. The way he said it, like it was the most obvious thing in the world, made my blood boil.

"Then who the hell is he marrying?" I demanded, my voice colder now.

My father's lips curled into a smirk. "Soone younger. Sweeter," he added with a mocking tone, as if the idea of a man leaving his longti wife for a younger woman was amusing. "A fresh start."

I clenched my jaw so hard it ached.

A fresh start?

That man had a wife who stuck by him for years. A woman who sacrificed her youth, her happiness, her dreams to build a family with him, and he just—what? Tossed her aside like an old piece of furniture because he wanted sothing new?

The fork in my hand scraped against my plate as I forced myself to speak calmly. "So, let get this straight. After everything Tyler's mom did for him—after all the sacrifices she made—he just decides she's not good enough anymore and moves on like she never mattered?"

My father barely spared a glance. "That's life, Logan. People move on."

I let out a cold laugh, shaking my head. "People move on?" I repeated bitterly. "No. Selfish bastards move on. Decent people honor their commitnts. He didn't just move on—he left her. He abandoned her after she gave him everything. And now, what? He gets to play house with soone younger while she's stuck picking up the pieces?"

My father sighed, setting his utensils down. "Logan, you're overreacting."

"Am I?" I snapped. "Because last I checked, Tyler's mom gave up everything for that man. She put her own life on hold to raise his son, to be there for him, to support him through every damn thing. And what did she get in return? A divorce? A pat on the back before he ran off to find soone better?"

My father leaned back, swirling his wine in the glass. "She's not exactly struggling, is she?"

I scoffed. "Oh, so because she's not holess, that ans she's fine? You think just because she managed to survive without him, it makes what he did okay?" I shook my head, disgusted. "That woman built her entire life around that man. She gave him her best years. And now, when she's older, when she's finally supposed to be enjoying the life they built together, he decides he wants a damn upgrade?"

My father sighed, clearly getting tired of the conversation. "Logan, it's not our concern. People get divorced all the ti."

"Yeah, but not everyone is a selfish asshole about it," I shot back. "Tell , when exactly did he move on? Was it before or after the divorce? Or was he already lining up options before he even left his wife?"

My father smirked. "Does it matter?"

I gritted my teeth. "It matters to the woman who wasted years of her life on soone who never deserved her."

"Logan," my father said, his tone warning now. "This isn't your fight."

I laughed dryly. "Oh, I know. Because n like you always stick together, right? No matter how much damage you cause."

My father's eyes darkened slightly, but he didn't deny it.

Instead, he took another sip of his wine and said, "Logan, you need to understand sothing. I don't care what Tyler's dad does. If he wants to marry one woman or five in the sa damn day, it's none of my business. And it sure as hell isn't yours."

I let out a bitter chuckle, shaking my head. "Birds of a feather really do flock together, huh?" I muttered under my breath.

My father smirked. "Glad you're finally catching on."

I pushed my chair back and stood. "Well, you can tell Tyler's dad that I won't be there. Find an excuse for , because I'm not going."

My father raised an eyebrow. "Why not?"

"Because I have class that day," I lied, not even bothering to sound convincing.

His smirk deepened. "That's interesting. I haven't even told you the date yet, and you already have class?"

I didn't hesitate. "Doesn't matter when it is. I'll be busy. I'm taking extra classes, so I won't be available."

My father studied for a mont, then leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. "Hmm. Well, that's too bad. Because Tyler's mom will be there."

I froze.

"And probably Tyler himself."

My heartbeat stuttered for a second.

I tried to keep my face neutral, but my father was watching too closely.

"And," he added, just to twist the knife deeper, "Tyler's dad's side chick will be there, too. There's a high chance of so... drama surfacing." He took another sip of wine, his smirk widening. "Would be interesting to watch, don't you think?"

I exhaled through my nose, my mind racing.

Tyler was going to be there.

Tyler's mom was going to be there.

Tyler's dad's new woman was going to be there.

And this wasn't just so small, quiet ceremony. No, this had all the ingredients of a full-blown disaster.

I slowly sat back down, tilting my head. "So, what you're saying is... this wedding is about to be one hell of a shitshow?"

My father smirked. "That's exactly what I'm saying."

I pretended to think for a mont, then grinned. "Well, damn. Now I have to go."

My father raised an eyebrow. "What happened to having class that day?"

I smirked. "Weren't you the one who said drama is going to surface? You really think I'd miss sothing this interesting?"

And just like that, I had a front-row seat to the chaos that was about to unfold and to see Tyler also.
