Chapter 49: Chapter 49: An Abstract Family

For Li Yang, the score is the fake college entrance exam; the real exam is life.

Besides the college entrance exam, he had no way to change his life in a short ti.

Of course, the idea of going to college existed too; after all, he didn’t attend in his previous life. When people asked during matchmaking: How co you haven’t even been to college?

After finishing the science comprehensive exam, it felt more like a redemption for him.

The upcoming English exam, even if the test paper changed entirely, with his English ability, passing wouldn’t be too much of a problem.

As long as he passed English, the focus line was certainly stable.

This college entrance exam was like a ga of Dou Di Zhu, with four hands of cards altogether.

The first hand was a straight from 5 to Ace, the second was a pair of 2s.

The third was a king bomb, and the fourth was just a little 3.

Playing the second hand ant it was already secure; even if others had a bomb, it would only affect his gain a little.

The third hand sealed the deal, maximizing the benefits. Even if the fourth hand held a small 3, it wouldn’t affect the final outco.

He checked his personal information and pinched his thigh to make sure it was all real.

Submit!

Leave!

After leaving the senior year teaching building, he headed straight for the exit, knowing lunch today would be rich.

From a distance, he saw Xue Ning’s thermos because, compared to others, hers was particularly large.

Xue Ning saw him too, holding onto the iron gate and raising her hand as soon as she could.

Today’s prepared dishes were a bit more than yesterday’s, making it slightly heavy.

Li Yang felt that Xue Ning definitely had a habit of holding doors.

Just as he was about to speak, he saw behind the old couple, Li Likun and Wang Cuiping, their eyes tightly locked on the exit, as if afraid of missing a student.

When Xue Ning saw Li Yang stride over, just as she was about to hand over the thermos, she realized he walked right past her and to those behind.

Then, she saw Li Yang approach the middle-aged couple, put an arm around one’s shoulder, and show an innocent smile.

"Mom, Dad, why did you co back?"

Wang Cuiping and Li Likun were stunned; why did this kid seem a bit off?

They never thought Li Yang had grown so much taller; Li Likun was only 175, Wang Cuiping just 160, and now being hugged by their son, they suddenly realized he was so tall.

Family affection is always subtle like this.

Besides, when children are asked: Do you love ...?

When they grow a bit older, such words beco sowhat embarrassing for both adults and kids, hard to speak.

Especially for Li Likun and Wang Cuiping.

Things like hugs never happened before.

Today, when Li Yang ca up and hugged the old couple, it made them quite uncomfortable.

Yet, there was a kind of indescribable comfort in their hearts.

They had already prepared for their son to quietly signal them to et elsewhere.

After all, there was really no ti to tidy up, and though not too dirty, their hair was ssy, and the clothes in the construction environnt, even if not worn for work, still seed out of place.

They didn’t mind, but a teenager’s self-esteem did.

Oh well, if he did poorly, then so be it, grades don’t really matter.

For the old couple, they could find nothing else to care about, so they cared about academic performance.

"We just wanted to co back and see how you’re eating."

"It’s good, Xue brings

food... Hey... Where is Xue?"

Li Yang vaguely rembered seeing Xue Ning beside him, but now when he turned his head, she was gone.

"Which teacher is bringing you food?"

Li Likun didn’t understand.

Li Yang quickly explained: "One of my teachers from sophomore year, she knew I was at the No. 2 exam site, happened to be leading a team here, so she brought

lunch... I just saw her holding a thermos here..."

"The skinny one?"

"Yeah."

...

Xue Ning at this mont was going against the tide.

Because students were all coming out, she was heading in.

When Li Yang shouted "Mom and Dad," she was embarrassed to the extre, even wanting to flee.

Walking out wouldn’t work; there were more people outside, not to ntion she had to collect students’ exam tickets.

She could only walk in, using the flow of people to block Li Yang’s sight.

Even though Li Yang had a high vantage point, she was short, only standing 164, she couldn’t be found in the crowd.

Hehe... why did I randomly say I was bringing food to my brother?

After ten minutes, she collected the students’ exam tickets. By this ti, most students had already left the campus, and it suddenly felt open inside.

She turned around, planning to find a place to eat.

Instead, she saw Li Yang holding a canvas bag in one hand, his parents standing on either side, smiling at her.

Li Yang said, "Sis, Mom and Dad want to invite you to lunch, let’s go together?"

...

Li Yang found this situation abstract.

Because during the al, his parents were unusually proactive, making Xue Ning quite embarrassed.

They asked a lot about her family circumstances. Upon knowing she beca an orphan at a young age, they openly expressed sympathy and pity.

In fact, while eating, they couldn’t hide the smiles at the corners of their mouths.

After the al, Li Yang noticed the tired look in his parents’ eyes and said, "Mom, Dad, my sister has opened a hotel near the school entrance, why don’t you go take a nap?"

Xue Ning: "..."

Wouldn’t I know if there was a hotel?

If there was a hotel, who knows...

Li Likun waved his hand and said, "What’s wrong with us, aren’t you taking a nap?"

Li Yang hurriedly said, "I never had a habit of napping; if I nap before the exam, my head stays foggy. My sister especially set up a place for both of you. Usually, she wouldn’t be so good to ."

Xue Ning: "..."

Wang Cuiping, with a straight face, said, "You’re talking nonsense, isn’t your sister good to you? Look at the als she prepares for you, you’d be hard-pressed to find another like it in the world, yet you’re not satisfied."

Li Yang: "..., hehehe..."

Wang Cuiping addressed it so naturally, as if there was no transition at all.

Xue Ning really felt herself being integrated, hazily finding that she seed to beco part of this family.

The process felt abstract, simply because she ntioned: bringing food to her brother.

She said, "Godfather, Godmother, it’s specifically booked for you two, it’s just the right ti, it’s already starting to charge."

Li Yang: "..."

Li Likun hadn’t been drinking at noon but squinted his eyes with a chuckle.

Wang Cuiping understood his aning.

Li Yang said, "Mom, Dad, you’ll waste my sister’s goodwill if you don’t go, shall we go now?"

A god-sister doesn’t seem too bad either...
