Chen Yi didn't co here to kill today. Showing his hand once was enough to let the others know he had the strength to negotiate on equal terms.
"What I use is called the Dragon Capturing Hand, it's not the sa as your Eagle Claw Technique."
"Well isn't that a coincidence, my technique used to be called the Dragon Capturing Hand. I changed it to Eagle Claw Technique because I lost hope of mastering the dragon's move. See this Vitality and Blood path? Don't you practice it this way too? Kid, tell how you mastered the Cut-off Vein Skill in the Dragon Capturing Hand."
After releasing the muscular man, Chen Yi and the man walked shoulder to shoulder towards the stone table, naturally discussing about martial arts as if nothing happened.
Did he encounter another martial art from the two worlds again?
Chen Yi made up a few sentences to fool him.
He ca to the edge of the table and saw an old man whose hair and beard were all white, to whom he respectfully bowed:
"Chen Yi, the younger one, pays his respects to Daoist master."
"Good...good... such an outstanding young man indeed. Big guy, how long has it been since we encountered a newcor who can fight on par with a master before becoming a master themselves?"
The old Daoist laughed while stroking his beard and looked at Chen Yi with satisfaction in his eyes,
The muscular man nad Big Guy was not convinced, "Hmpf, I didn't use my True Qi. Our fight was not real. But you're right, master Daoist. We haven't seen such a demon in over a hundred years in Yue Country. The last one was Grandmaster Yu wasn't it?"
The muscular master felt a bit embarrassed to lose to a kid, but he didn't know that during their previous spar, Chen Yi didn't use his real kung fu either. Otherwise, with Chen Yi's threefold body refining defense and the speed of Vajra eight steps, this muscular man should not be his match.
"Young man, our main purpose today was to et with you, we didn't expect you to contribute anything. But it seems now you've had so extraordinary adventures. I've lived a long ti, my martial thod is unique, I'm sowhat sensitive to the power of years, and you seem to have a long lifespan. In our current End Dharma Era, to live past 150 is extrely difficult, not possible without reaching the level of Grandmaster. Maybe you are the future Grandmaster of this new era. Thus, if you don't want to participate in the frontline now, I agree.
But I have a request that you join the Demon Suppression Alliance made up of all the grandmasters. When you beco a grandmaster in future, if we, the masters at the frontlines cannot withstand the attack of the Demon Beasts, you'd have to step in and help humanity once. How about it?"
The old Daoist had white hair and beard, yet his face was ruddy, his speech clear, and he smiled and looked at Chen Yi with hopeful eyes as he spoke these words.
Chen Yi was surprised. He had thought that there would be a hard battle today, but he didn't expect the muscular man to test him lightly, and the old man to speak honestly without any roundabouts.
There's another thing the old man didn't ntion that he excels not only at observing the turning of the years, but also the spiritual light above one's head. When the Daoist first saw Chen Yi he had an idea, although this kid had seen blood, his heart was kind. He was soone that their Demon Suppression Alliance must win over.
The Daoist, as the senior mber of the Demon Suppression Alliance, hardly participated in battles. Apart from battles, all matters such as strategizing, divination, recruiting new mbers, treating people etc., were left up to him.
Seeing the Daoist speak so highly of Chen Yi, the muscular man was extrely surprised. The Demon Suppression Alliance hadn't prioritized recruiting talent for a long ti and grandmasters typically wanted to join the alliance on their own. However, he knew that the Daoist couldn't have made a mistake in his choices, so he remained silent.
Chen Yi, knowing that the old man valued him, thought for a mont and asked a question:
"What is the Demon Suppression Alliance?"
"Hahaha." Satisfied, the Daoist laughed, and explained:
"The Demon Suppression Alliance is an organization of grandmasters. We have two objectives: One, to protect this beautiful landscape, and two, to use the resources on Demon Beasts that we fight against to cultivate the younger generation, enhance our cultivation level and even to venture into the Demon Beast realm, to find the lost path from the past."
"The lost path from the past?"
Chen Yi is very interested in the past of the two worlds, i.e., the tis of antiquity. He feels that if he could unlock the secrets of those tis, he might find information about the Broken Jade in his mind, and he also might understand why he can traverse between the two realms. This isn't important for Chen Yi now, but he feels that once his strength reaches a certain level, it will beco extrely important!
"Yes, the lost path." The old Daoist sighed and continued:
"Every new recruit to the Demon Suppression Alliance must understand how powerful our Ancient Human Race was. We're talking about punching falling stars, roaring to split the sun and the moon. But at so point, the spiritual energy of heaven and earth suddenly disappeared, leaving us only with the Martial thods handed down from ancient tis. When we began to retrace the path of cultivation, we can only reach the Huajin late stage at most.
To reach the level of a grandmaster, one must generate True Qi, which is actually a weakened version of the spiritual energy of the ancient tis. But to generate True Qi, one needs a Spirit Object. In this End Dharma Era, the only things left with Spirit Objects are the Demon Beasts that have passed down their bloodlines, and so of the Spiritual Mystical Realms within the Demon Beast world."
