Chapter 97: Chapter 97 Qiao Yun in Distress

Qiao Yun took over the lamb skewers and began to grill them, nodding her head, “I worked hard.”
Those people are so stupid, needing her to do everything herself.
“It’s good you found your parents, you won’t have to work so hard in the future,” Li Miao thought her little friend was so pitiable.
Qiao Yun thought about it and nodded, “Yeah, it won’t be hard anymore.”
Now the hard work was Pei Yao’s.
The two were speaking at cross purposes, yet their chat was going quite well.
Qiao Yun thought about how Li Hanzhou had helped her a few tis, and despite a little misunderstanding before, she felt he was a decent person and deserved better treatnt from her.
So she took so water spinach to grill as well.
After everything was grilled, Qiao Yun carefully placed it on a plate and brought it over to Li Hanzhou who was waiting to eat.
Li Hanzhou wasn’t feeling hungry at first, but after slling the aroma, he beca a bit greedy; however, when he saw the ingredients on the plate, his mouth twitched.
“What is this?”
Qiao Yun explained each item, “Cucumber, water spinach, garlic scapes, Chinese chives.”
“Kiddo, is this on purpose?”
Li Hanzhou suspected Qiao Yun was getting back at him, otherwise why would she only grill vegetables for him, and why were they all green?
He rembered a recent short video Shen Qi shared with him: How to tell a brother he’s been ‘greened’.
Qiao Yun was puzzled how he reached that conclusion and told him, “Eating more vegetables can enhance immunity and prevent osteoporosis; it’s good for the body.”
She paused, then added, “For the sake of not losing nutrients, I grilled them very carefully.”
Li Miao ca over to intervene, “I an, my brother doesn’t like cucumbers, I’ll eat them for him.”
Before she could reach for them, Li Hanzhou had already taken a bite, his protective attitude surprised even Li Miao.
“The taste is not bad,” Li Hanzhou licked his lips.
Qiao Yun was satisfied, “Then I’ll grill so more for you.”
Li Hanzhou didn’t refuse; Qiao Yun was skilled, and it was indeed delicious.
Li Miao drifted to Qiao Yun’s side, “Qiaoqiao, you grilled so many vegetables for my brother, aren’t you afraid he’ll turn his back on you?”
Qiao Yun said, “He freeloaded off ; he doesn’t have the right to be angry.”
Li Miao: ???
Wait, that sounded strange.
She corrected, “He freeloaded off your cooking.”
Qiao Yun: “Oh.”
It sounded like there wasn’t much of a difference.
Li Hanzhou stared at Qiao Yun, from her curled eyelashes to her dry lips, and thinking that she had been so busy without drinking water, he stood up and went inside.
Just then, the sky thundered, and it began to rain suddenly.
“How co it’s raining? Run, Qiaoqiao!”
Li Miao shouted and hurried into the house.
Qiao Yun didn’t move; she tilted her head up, feeling the cool raindrops splash on her face.
Coming out, Li Hanzhou saw Qiao Yun standing silently and quietly, not knowing what she was thinking.
He sighed, took an umbrella, walked over, and covered Qiao Yun with it.
“Gone silly?”
Qiao Yun blinked slowly, “Ah, no, not silly.”
Although Qiao Yun had no emotion on her face, Li Hanzhou felt she was sad.
Qiao Yun didn’t understand what sadness ant, but just a mont ago, for an instant, she thought of the tis when nobody would tell her during a rainfall, “Qiaoqiao go get the clothes.”
When she had a fever, telling her, “You just have a cold.”
When she was hungry, telling her, “You just want to eat sothing.”
When she was shivering, telling her, “You’re just cold, you need to wear more clothes.”
Thinking about this, Qiao Yun felt empty inside.
Suddenly, Li Hanzhou grabbed her wrist, “Let’s go back inside.”
His hands were a bit rough, but warm too, pulling Qiao Yun’s thoughts back all at once.
