Chapter 69: Could it be a mistake?
Editor: Inschain
Lu Ting’s smile froze on her face as she looked up in astonishnt at Qiao Yun.
Qiao Yun’s delicate face showed no excitent, as if things were exactly as they should be.
In Lu Ting’s mind, the thought kept replaying: Impossible! Liar! This is a lie! How could she outperform ?
Their classmates’ ears perked up.
“Really? Only five points away from a perfect score?”
“Didn’t she get in by donating money to the school? How could she possibly score higher than Lu Ting.”
“Could they have mixed up the papers?”
“Tingting, what’s wrong with you?” the complex expression on Lu Xue’s face was no less intense than Lu Ting’s. What happened to Qiao Yun finishing in last place?
Lu Ting snapped back to reality and stamred, “Ah, I’m just too surprised, that’s all. After all, my sister said that she never went to school, so I didn’t expect her grades to be that good.”
Jiang Huai, upon hearing Lu Ting’s words, imdiately boldly asked the teacher.
“Teacher, is Qiao Yun really the top scorer? Could there be a mistake?”
Wu Xianfeng replied with utmost certainty, “Of course not, how can there be a mistake with sothing like this?”
Jiang Huai remained skeptical; he had seen with his own eyes how Qiao Yun answered the questions yesterday. He couldn’t believe that she could solve such difficult problems in just ten minutes.
Xia Ling was very surprised and quietly asked Qiao Yun, “Did you really get 145 points?”
Qiao Yun humd affirmatively and flipped her paper open to show her.
Xia Ling’s eyes widened, at a loss for words. What about finishing last? How did you suddenly soar to the top!
“You’re amazing,” she finally complinted after a while.
“Not bad,” Qiao Yun frowned, the students this year were really lacking. She had purposely gotten one question wrong and still ended up in first place.
Lu Ting was still imrsed in shock when she saw Qiao Yun suddenly look towards her, a mix of coldness and disappointnt in her eyes.
Lu Ting: “…?”
But Jiang Huai spoke up again: “Teacher, I suspect there’s sothing wrong with Qiao Yun’s score?”
The whispering stopped, and truth be told, they were skeptical too. Based on the rumors they had heard, Qiao Yun didn’t seem like soone who could top the class.
Wu Xianfeng’s expression was stern, “What’s the problem?”
“I suspect Qiao Yun cheated. On the day of the quiz, I distinctly saw her finish the paper in just a few minutes. Given the difficulty level of the questions set by Shengyang, I don’t believe she could have completed it in such a short ti and still score so high.”
Jiang Huai’s analysis was clear and logical, imdiately casting doubt among the classmates.
Even the top student of the year couldn’t have finished that quickly, could they?
Where did Qiao Yun get such confidence?
Wu Xianfeng fell silent for a mont before asking him, “Do you have any evidence? Without evidence, the teacher cannot agree with what you say.”
Jiang Huai had been annoyed with Qiao Yun since yesterday, and he had his reasons for suspicion, lightly scoffing: “Teacher, Qiao Yun cos from the countryside. Can the countryside education be better than Shengyang’s? Besides, Qiao Yun never went to school. How could soone who never attended school get the top score?”
Wu Xianfeng was genuinely unaware of this and asked Qiao Yun, “Is it true that you’ve never been to school?”
Qiao Yun spoke evenly, “Does being first place have anything to do with whether I have been to school or not?”
“Sophistry,”
Jiang Huai thought she was being evasive and mocked, “If you haven’t been to school, how did you learn all this knowledge?”
“I self-taught,” Qiao Yun admitted honestly and added, “This knowledge is very simple.”
The classmates: “…”
Honestly, we suspect you’re underestimating our intelligence.
Is this what you call simple??
At this point, everyone looked at Qiao Yun with eyes filled with doubt.
