Chapter 30: Trying to Isolate You

Upon hearing this, friends suddenly understood and teased Lu Ting with grins.
“When did you et Chairman Pei?”
“Chairman Pei is so handso, could it be that you’re planning to have a marital alliance with him? Otherwise, why would he co to your coming-of-age ceremony, when so many others couldn’t invite him?”
“A coming-of-age ceremony, oh what a special mont.”
“The Li Family is here too, Tingting, your social status is so impressive.”
Youths of this age just love to joke around. Actually, they didn’t really think there was anything between Chairman Pei and Lu Ting, but if he attended her coming-of-age ceremony, he must be acquainted with her, right?
When Lu Ting saw Pei Ya and the Li couple, she too was puzzled.
Not until she heard the envious comnts around her did she intend to clear up the misunderstanding, but instead she just smiled lightly, “I’m not sure myself. But, my dad has business collaborations with Shengqiao Group, and the last ti I went to pick up my dad from Shengqiao Group, I seem to have seen Chairman Pei once; didn’t expect to see him again.”
Upon hearing this, her friends automatically made up a story that Pei Ya had fallen in love with Lu Ting at first sight and had thus attended the ceremony.
What had started as a joke, suddenly seed uncertain to them.
Could it be that Chairman Pei actually took a fancy to Lu Ting?
What sort of stroke of luck was this?
Lu Xue said enviously, “You are so good-looking, it’s natural for soone to be smitten with you, right? It’s just like sothing out of a novel, so romantic.”
Lu Ting laughed awkwardly, “It’s not that exaggerated. Chairman Pei and I aren’t very close.”
“Get to know him better.”
“If he really ca for you, you should grasp the opportunity.”
“Yeah, you can’t let your sister get there first.”
“Speaking of which, has your sister ever bullied you?”
“Co to think of it, why hasn’t she shown up? I heard she previously lived in the countryside, is that true?”
The conversation sohow shifted to Qiao Yun, and so of them looked down on the life Qiao Yun lived before she returned.
Lu Ting stopped them, “My sister isn’t like that; don’t talk about her like this. Actually, my sister is very nice. When she first ca back, she even brought a gift, though it was just a two-dollar wristlet from the street, but her willingness to give a gift shows that she accepts .”
Lu Xue hesitated, then said, “Why do I feel like she’s insulting you? No matter how poor she was, she wouldn’t just buy sothing so cheap for you.”
“Ah?” Lu Ting’s eyes widened with surprise, firmly denying, “No way! Although she doesn’t talk to much, I don’t believe she did it on purpose.”
“Maybe she intentionally ignores you? You’re too kind-hearted not to see such obvious targeting.”
Soone couldn’t stand seeing Lu Ting being bullied without knowing it and spoke out to remind her.
Lu Ting feigned anger, “Stop talking, or I’ll ignore you guys.”
The faces of this group of pampered young masters and ladies displayed complicated expressions; Lu Ting was indeed too kind and too easily deceived.
anwhile, they marked Qiao Yun in their minds as soone rural, tasteless, crude, and manipulative, secretly bullying Lu Ting.
They had initially thought of befriending Qiao Yun for the sake of the Lu Family; now they completely abandoned the idea.
This kind of bumpkin isn’t fit for their circle.
As Li Miao was about to go upstairs, she needed to pass in front of these young masters and ladies. Hearing them pitying Lu Ting, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
Dumb as bricks.
She had personally seen before that Lu Ting could be two-faced, and from then on, she knew Lu Ting was not simple.
Li Miao stomped upstairs intending to tattle to Qiao Yun, “Soone is causing trouble, trying to isolate you.”
Before she could find Qiao Yun’s room,
she heard the click of Qiao Yun opening the door.
“Qiao Yun, soone spoke ill of you.”
Li Miao looked up and in the next second exclaid, “Holy shit!”
