Chapter 242: Chapter 242 Are you still mad at ?

Lu’s father hesitated for a mont before turning to ask Qiao Yun, “Qiaoqiao, do you still rember your grandparents and your uncle’s family?”

Su Mian also looked at Qiao Yun, with worry, discomfort, and regret in her eyes…

It was so complicated that Qiao Yun couldn’t understand, but she thought that Su Mian probably didn’t want her to rember.

Qiao Yun hesitated for a mont and said vaguely, “I kind of rember.”

Lu’s father wanted to ask sothing else, but Su Mian spoke impatiently, “Qiaoqiao is only three years old, what can she rember? Do you really need her to rember anything to be satisfied?”

Lu’s father was left speechless by the retort and after a long while, he managed to say, “After all, we are family…”

Su Mian scoffed with disdain, “Hmph…”

Lu Jingzhi noticed that the atmosphere between his parents was off and quickly changed the subject.

“Sister, you still have school tomorrow, go rest.”

“Right, right, Qiaoqiao, you should go rest.” Su Mian was indeed distracted.

Qiao Yun’s expression was very calm, and she said in a soft voice, “Goodnight.”

Lu’s father coughed awkwardly, silently regretting bringing up the people from the old house, unsure whether Qiaoqiao would rember her childhood.

But this situation couldn’t be left stiff forever, Qiaoqiao was their biological daughter, and they needed to visit the ho at so point to recognize the family.

After Qiao Yun left, they all dispersed.

Lu’s father gathered his spirits, preparing to have a serious talk with Su Mian.

Lu Jingzhi had intended to go back to his apartnt, but hesitated, not knowing what to do, and finally turned to go upstairs.

He knocked on Lu Ting’s room door.

When Lu Ting opened the door and saw Lu Jingzhi, her eyes revealed an undeniable delight, “Big brother, what’s up?”

Because of the previous deception by Lu Ting on a project, Lu Jingzhi harbored complicated feelings toward Lu Ting. Watching her climb the stairs alone and desolate, he couldn’t bear it.

Thinking she was still his sister, he couldn’t just ignore her endlessly, so he knocked on her door wanting to show so concern, but found himself unable to start talking.

He couldn’t get over it, thinking his clever and sensible sister could spin him around her finger.

“Is your second brother doing well?”

Loss flashed in Lu Ting’s eyes, then her expression softened as she said, “We haven’t talked much, I don’t know much about his situation.”

“If big brother wants to know about second brother’s situation, he can ask sister, she knows better. Second brother takes her along on work trips often.”

Lu Jingzhi, upon hearing this, fell silent for a mont, “Qiaoqiao t him for the first ti, he probably wanted to spend more ti with Qiaoqiao.”

Lu Ting’s hand tightened briefly, her expression stilled for a mont, but she soon returned to normal.

“I thought the sa at first, it’s just… second brother seems to not want to deal with much, I’m afraid he might misunderstand , he wouldn’t think that I dislike sister and therefore hate , would he?”

Lu Jingzhi furrowed his brow and looked at Lu Ting for a while, making her so tense she felt a chill down her spine, before saying, “You’re overthinking, if Zhanxing truly disliked soone, you wouldn’t even be allowed near his house.”

“I was just guessing.” Lu Ting tugged at the corner of her lips, slightly annoyed by Lu Jingzhi’s attitude toward her.

Things had changed.

If it had been before, big brother would have disapproved of second brother’s neglect of her, and might even suspect that Qiao Yun was sowing discord, and would thus comfort her.

Now it was just this casually delivered sentence.

She felt stifled inside but had to pretend it didn’t matter.

Lu Jingzhi sighed deeply, “Stop overthinking, go rest.”

“Big brother…” Lu Ting stopped the person about to leave, anxiously asking him, “Are you still angry with ?”
