Chapter 232: Chapter 232: Looking for a Substitute, or Trying to Transfer Affections?

Qiao Yun released Li Hanzhou’s hand and concluded, “It’s a bit red, you need to apply so dicine.”

“There’s no need for all this fuss,” Li Hanzhou was indifferent about such a minor burn.

“No way!” Qiao Yun said sternly, “It’s just a bit red now, but if you don’t apply dicine, it will blister, and it will scar.”

Her gaze fell on the back of Li Hanzhou’s pale hand, not wanting any scars on it, as they would be too noticeable.

Qiao Yun had no other thoughts; she simply believed that these hands were beautiful and should always remain so.

“I’ll go buy the dicine; you wait here,” she said, about to rise.

“No need, just enjoy your al,” Li Hanzhou urged her to sit down and eat properly.

Lu Zhanxing spoke up, “I’ll go.”

“It’s not far, just across from the restaurant,” Qiao Yun felt it was her responsibility since she was the one who had been careless.

Seeing how stubborn Qiao Yun was, they eventually agreed to let her go and buy the dicine.

Lu Zhanxing also had sothing to discuss with Li Hanzhou.

Once Qiao Yun had left, he opened the conversation, “Master Li, can we talk?”

Hearing this, Shen Qi very consciously said, “I’ll go outside for a smoke.”

With that, he slipped away.

Once only the two of them were left in the private room, the smile on Li Hanzhou’s face faded, and his eyes and brows conveyed the coldness befitting a superior.

Lu Zhanxing’s breath hitched, and suppressing his palpitations, he said, “Master Li, what are your thoughts regarding my sister?”

Li Hanzhou’s fingers tapped the table rhythmically, his voice sounding casual, “You want to ddle in her affairs?”

Lu Zhanxing instinctively said, “She is my sister.”

Li Hanzhou sneered, “No one in the Lu Family has any right to ddle in her affairs. From the mont she returned until now, the affection given by the Lu Family is too hypocritical. What good does it do to show concern only after the matter is resolved? If you truly cared about her, you should have tried to understand her yourself.”

“What do you an? Has sothing happened to my sister?”

Li Hanzhou’s expression was mockingly amused, “You also have an adopted sister. You lost your own and then adopted another; is this finding a substitute or shifting feelings?”

Lu Zhanxing felt extrely awkward and put himself in the shoes of others.

If he were the one who was lost, and upon returning he found an added mber to the family who was adopted during the ti he was lost, how would he feel?

He would feel hurt, he would question, he would feel wronged…

“That’s because her father saved my elder brother,”

Lu Zhanxing defended, “Her father died from jumping off a building, leaving her alone, which is why my parents adopted her.”

“What does that have to do with ?” said Li Hanzhou, “You can only discuss this matter with when the kid truly accepts you.”

Lu Zhanxing looked dejected; he knew his sister had not fully accepted their family yet.

“I’m not qualified to intervene in my sister’s matters. I am not even trying to intervene. I just want to say that my sister doesn’t understand many things, and I hope she cos to understand them on her own.”

He was the one who hoped most that his sister understood the emotions and desires of life. How could he possibly ddle?

He simply hoped that it was her understanding on her own, and not through misguidance.

Li Hanzhou raised his eyebrows in surprise, sowhat understanding the special reason Qiao Yun treated Lu Zhanxing differently; he truly cared about her.

Li Hanzhou subdued his aura and responded, “The master had no plans to do anything anyway.”

Of course, he couldn’t miss out on teasing.

The place was sparsely populated, and Qiao Yun stood alone waiting for the green light, preparing to cross to the pharmacy on the opposite side.

Just then, soone pressed against her lower back.

She distinctly felt it was a sharp knife.
