Chapter 1051: Chapter 1051: Truly a Vicious Woman
Nolan hesitated and stamred, “Nothing, I just accidentally fell.”
Andrew glanced at him skeptically.
A fall could lead to this?
He simply didn’t believe it.
Andrew didn’t need to think too hard to know what had happened; rembering Nolan’s pride, he didn’t press the issue. Instead, he instructed Nolan, “Have the family doctor take a look at you later. Also, how are things between you and Xiya?”
Nolan’s expression darkened imdiately.
However, he didn’t show it, instead putting on a troubled look as he said, “She refuses to accept my apology.”
“If she doesn’t accept it, then drop it.”
Andrew wasn’t surprised at all—Nolan’s disheveled appearance upon returning had already given him the answer.
Nolan, however, was surprised by his father’s sudden change in attitude. Not long ago, he had been so insistent that Nolan apologize; why was he indifferent now?
Thinking of this, he asked directly, “Father, since she won’t accept my apology, then Professor Qiao’s side…?”
Andrew, appearing thoughtful, replied, “Getting along amicably with Professor Qiao would certainly be ideal, but if that’s not possible, it won’t actually impact us. What you need to do now is not provoke Xiya any further.”
After all, the Andrew Family had built itself up on its own, with a history that spanned over a century.
Even without Professor Qiao, it wouldn’t falter.
Andrew had taken You’en’s words to heart—it was better not to risk financial ruin while trying to form connections.
Nolan didn’t grasp Andrew’s concerns and completely ignored the last remark.
After a brief silence, he suddenly spoke with a trace of resentnt, “Father, I regret it.”
“What?” Andrew’s expression turned bemused.
Nolan hesitated before saying, “Back then, I shouldn’t have let Xiya leave. She’s my fiancée; she should have married .”
This recent encounter had only deepened Nolan’s regret over ruining the engagent banquet.
To say he truly adored Han Wang—that simply wasn’t the case.
In fact, his first impression of Han Wang had been that she was a rude and uncultured woman.
But as he later ca across information online about Han Wang’s accomplishnts, coupled with Professor Qiao Si’s enthusiasm toward her, he realized how absurd his earlier assumptions had been.
Han Wang was far more capable than he had imagined.
If soone like her could beco his wife, it would greatly benefit his career.
Though her temperant was problematic, Nolan believed he had the ability to manage her.
What’s more, with his undeniable charm, Nolan was confident that Han Wang would eventually fall for him after spending more ti together.
The more Nolan thought about it, the more dissatisfied he felt. Especially when he saw Han Wang standing beside Pei Ya, he had an inexplicable sense that his woman had been snatched away.
Unable to hold himself back, he said, “Father, the engagent was unilaterally terminated by Xiya. Herbert didn’t agree to it, did he?”
“What are you thinking?”
Andrew didn’t believe Nolan would suddenly, without reason, change his mind. Frowning, he asked, “What’s behind this change of heart? What exactly happened between you and Xiya?”
“I just realized she’d make an excellent wife.”
Nolan didn’t dare ntion that Han Wang and Qiao Si knew each other.
Losing out on Professor Qiao wouldn’t lead his father to reprimand him.
But if he missed his chance with Qiao Si, his father would undoubtedly be furious.
Andrew grew irritated, snapping, “Drop your impractical intentions right now. From the beginning, Xiya never wanted to marry you. Even if you weren’t a philanderer, we were completely taken advantage of by Herbert. If Herbert hadn’t pressured Xiya, none of this would’ve happened.”
Nolan pressed his lips together tightly, unable to respond to the statent.
Noticing Nolan’s sour expression, Andrew softened his tone and said, “There are plenty of outstanding won in the world. Even if Xiya is highly competent and a student of Professor Qiao—what importance does that hold? Professor Qiao can’t support her forever. Nolan, I’ll find you an even more perfect wife in the future.”
Nolan felt slightly placated. “Father, I understand.”
Andrew finally smiled, continuing to reassure him, “I know you’re used to won who are docile and obedient toward you. Encountering soone who defies you can montarily captivate you. Son, you’re still young—don’t let her easily deceive you.”
Nolan furrowed his brows tightly.
He thought his father’s words held so rit.
Could Han Wang be deliberately trying to attract his attention and make him pine for her endlessly, using this as a ploy to avenge herself?
After all, the more unattainable sothing is, the more it lingers in one’s thoughts.
Nolan’s face shifted to an unpleasant expression as he considered this.
She truly was a venomous woman.
Well, she couldn’t bla him for being ruthless.
Andrew told Nolan, “From now on, forget Xiya. She’s not worthy of you.”
Nolan distractedly nodded, then picked up his car keys and stood.
Andrew asked, “You just ca back—where are you off to now?”
Nolan tugged at his injured lip, gasping from the pain. “I’m going to the hospital.”
With that, he turned and left.
Andrew was left completely perplexed.
Wasn’t this minor injury sothing the family doctor could deal with? Did he really need to make the effort to go to the hospital?
Andrew didn’t dwell on it too much, assuming Nolan was in a foul mood and simply wanted to go out and unwind.
Andrew felt this matter had been handled perfectly—Nolan had learned enough of a lesson now.
There was no way he would retaliate against Xiya, nor would they cross paths with Professor Qiao again.
Just then, his phone rang insistently—like a death knell.
