Chapter 105: Chapter 105: You’ve Been Fooled by Your Classmate

Lu Ting’s palms broke out in cold sweat, and she nodded resolutely, “Okay, I’ll call him right now.”

After speaking, she took out her mobile phone, called Jiang Huai, and in order to increase credibility, she even put it on speakerphone.

While waiting for the call to connect, the feeling of nervousness inside Lu Ting had already reached its peak.

She prayed silently in her mind, hoping Jiang Huai wouldn’t talk too much, just stay quiet and listen to her would be fine.

Lu Jingzhi’s eyes were sharply fixed on her, and in fact, when Lu Ting dared to make a call in front of him, he had already believed her fifty percent.

Soon the call was connected, and Jiang Huai’s weary voice ca through, “Tingting?”

Lu Ting cut straight to the chase, “Are you free tomorrow? I’d like to treat you to a al.”

“Ah?”

Jiang Huai discreetly glanced at Yu Jin, who was nonchalantly looking at his phone, guarding him like a jailer watching over his copying work, and whispered.

“Sorry, I’m really busy lately.”

He felt like crying but had no tears.

In the past few days of copying, his hands were almost worn out.

But Yu Jin had set his heart on making him complete a thousand repetitions thoroughly, not caring even a bit for familial face, so much so that outsiders would think he was Qiao Yun’s cousin.

These past days, he was genuinely scared by Yu Jin’s strictness; he estimated that in the future, whenever he saw Qiao Yun, the first thing that would co to his mind would be copying work.

Lu Ting slightly curled her lips and continued to persuade, “It’s just ti for a al; it won’t take much ti.”

“Really, I can’t.”

Jiang Huai still refused.

Lu Ting finally felt relieved, and after hanging up the phone, she said to Lu Jingzhi, “Big brother, how about we make plans for another day?”

Lu Jingzhi thought to himself that it seed it wasn’t Lu Ting who lied, it was her classmate who lied.

If it had been Lu Ting who lied, she wouldn’t have been so eager to invite the person out for a al.

He hadn’t really believed that Lu Ting was lying, either; such a lie was too easy to see through, and she had no reason to lie about such a thing.

No matter whether they ended up being able to help their family or not, it was the thought that counted; nobody would say anything.

Now knowing that Lu Ting was deceived, Lu Jingzhi reminded her, “You were deceived by your classmate; the project has nothing to do with him. It was Qiaoqiao who secretly asked President Pei to give us a hand.”

“How is that possible!?”

Lu Ting was genuinely astonished; she hadn’t expected that this matter was related to Qiao Yun, and she questioned out loud instinctively.

“If President Pei said it himself, then there can be no mistake.”

Lu Jingzhi, however, thought that Lu Ting didn’t believe the part about her classmate deceiving her.

Lu Ting looked downwards, her eyes full of jealousy and resentnt.

Qiao Yun was too hypocritical, always appearing indifferent but competing with her behind the scenes.

Her eyes slightly darkened, and she slowly said, “Big brother, why is President Pei so good to my sister? Didn’t they et only once?”

The next second, she smiled with relief, “But it’s really great that sister has made a friend. She doesn’t talk to classmates at school, only close to Li Miao. I thought sister only had one friend, but it turns out she also made friends with President Pei.”

“It’s actually quite miraculous. President Pei’s status is so much different from ours, yet he beca friends with sister. Is this fate?”

Lu Jingzhi frowned upon hearing this.

He felt there was sothing odd about Lu Ting’s words but couldn’t pinpoint what it was.

As he still couldn’t see through Qiao Yun, his sister, he didn’t comnt on Lu Ting’s words, rely telling her, “This classmate of yours is not worth befriending.”

Lu Ting seed still a bit incredulous, “I really didn’t expect…”

Lu Jingzhi didn’t say more, giving Lu Ting ti to digest.

After leaving Lu Ting’s room, he was about to go talk to Lu Rui about the matter when his phone rang, and his secretary sent a docunt over.

It was the result of the investigation he had ordered the tech departnt to conduct into the identity of the ID that defad Qiao Yun on the forum.

The investigation results had finally arrived.
