Chapter 1037: Chapter 1037: He Regretted It
She couldn’t spare the energy to deal with these things at all.
Han Wang knew that her actions this ti would cause quite a stir, but she didn’t care at all about how outsiders viewed her, so she hadn’t prepared to respond to them in any way.
Whether it was praise or malicious curses, she was ntally prepared for both.
But now public opinion was overwhelmingly siding with her.
She could hardly find any words condemning her.
Han Wang couldn’t help but wonder, was it Pei Ya who did this? Or Professor Qiao?
Probably Professor Qiao.
After all, she was soone fiercely protective, soone who’d never allow her student to be criticized.
A smile tugged at the corners of Han Wang’s lips.
The first ti she knew what family affection felt like was through Professor Qiao.
The current sense of safety and protection made her laugh out loud uncontrollably.
On the other end of the phone, Herbert had been rambling for a while. Not only did he receive no response from Han Wang, but now he even heard her laughing.
His anger flared even more, and his tone tightened: “What are you laughing at? Do you think this is funny? I’m your father. When they laugh at , it’s as if they’re laughing at you, too.”
Han Wang snapped out of her thoughts and spoke in a chilled, deliberate tone, correcting him word by word: “Don’t forget, you’re no longer my father. You’re the only one being treated as a joke.”
“You—”
“What is it you want to clarify? Clarify that, from the ti I was a child until now, you ignored my existence and silently condoned their verbal abuse of ?”
Han Wang’s lips curled slightly. “Here’s one word for you: leave.”
The call was cut off…
Herbert stared at his phone in astonishnt, unable to recover for quite so ti.
It wasn’t until another call ca in that he snapped back to reality. As soon as he answered, he was t with the hysterical voice of his current wife.
“What’s going on online now? Why have my photos been exposed? Everyone knows about my affair with you, even my own family knows! They always thought we fell in love openly, and now I don’t even dare to step outside. You’d better find a way to fix this!”
Thinking about what Han Wang had just said, Herbert asked, “Tell , did you ever resort to violence with Xiya?”
“What? What are you trying to say? You never cared about her, and all my actions toward her were condoned by you. Are you blaming now?”
“Herbert! She’s grown up now, and you’re only just deciding to care about her? Don’t you think that’s ridiculous?”
Herbert felt his heart sink.
Because of his ex-wife, he had deliberately ignored Han Wang all along, as if venting his resentnt toward his ex-wife onto her.
In this mont, he finally realized that Han Wang was serious about severing their father-daughter relationship.
Herbert closed his eyes, exhaustion overwhelming him.
He regretted it. If he had known that the daughter he always ignored would grow into soone so remarkable, he would never have treated her with such hostility.
Clearly, it was too late now for him to make ands.
…
anwhile…
After Han Wang hung up Herbert’s call, she realized the discussion group chat had been repeatedly pinging her, with notifications saying soone had tagged her.
Without much thought, she clicked in, only to see the Han brothers frantically flooding the chat.
[Woke up and found out Big Sis is suddenly getting engaged, then unengaged, then cutting ties with the family—just like that! Now she’s beco so pitiful lonely soul. Sobody slap awake.]
[I’m more worried about Big Sis’s ntal state now. Sis, don’t do anything rash, you still have us.]
[I would’ve never guessed Big Sis had such a pitiful childhood. From now on, I swear I won’t upset her anymore.]
Reading this, Han Wang unexpectedly felt a faint sense of comfort.
These little troublemakers surprisingly had a conscience.
[Speaking of which, they don’t ban guns in O Continent, hehe, I’ve got an idea.]
[Exactly, it’s ti to show them what we can do.]
[Anyone who dares bully Big Sis better prepare to be blown to pieces!!]
Han Wang: “…”
Figures their well-behaved phase wouldn’t even last two seconds.
Taking a deep breath, Han Wang pursed her lips and sharply replied: [If any of you dare make trouble, I’ll make sure you have no descendants.]
The Han brothers: “…”
Han Wang closed the group chat and ignored the barrage of notifications that continued to pile up.
If she kept reading, she’d probably end up having a heart attack out of sheer exasperation.
She pinched her temple, and despite herself, let out a small laugh.
At least, she still had these people by her side.
At that mont, there was a knock on the door.
Han Wang steadied her emotions before going to answer it.
The one knocking was Qiao Yun.
When Qiao Yun saw Han Wang open the door, her eyes scanned Han Wang’s face.
It seed like she hadn’t been crying.
Seeing how long it was taking Han Wang to change clothes, Qiao Yun had thought she must’ve been secretly crying sowhere and decided to co check on her.
Noticing the strange look in Qiao Yun’s eyes, Han Wang asked, “Teacher, what’s wrong?”
Qiao Yun shook her head. “Hmm, nothing. Are you hungry? Co down and eat sothing.”
“Okay.” Han Wang agreed, then hesitated before asking, “Teacher, was it you who did those things online?”
Qiao Yun paused, quickly understanding what Han Wang was referring to. She nodded matter-of-factly: “I uploaded the video. Good things are ant to be shared. Since the engagent was called off, it’s only natural to let everyone know, to prevent unnecessary trouble in the future.”
Just as Han Wang was about to thank her, Qiao Yun continued, “But your father’s situation wasn’t my doing.”
