Chapter 1010: Chapter 1010: Engagent Banquet, Flaunting Wealth Competition

Although it wasn’t a grand banquet, the Li Family still put great thought into this engagent party, choosing to hold the ceremony in a magnificently beautiful manor.

The day before the engagent.

Qiao Yun received ssages from Pei Ya, the Qiao Family, and Li Hanzhou all on the sa day, asking if she had received their gifts.

She glanced at the texts, then looked at the enormous living room filled with gift boxes, nearly unable to contain them all. Her lips twitched slightly.

“Why are there so many dresses…” Su Mian’s eyes were almost dazzled. This was the first ti in her life she had seen so many dresses.

“Do they expect you to change into one per second? Even at that rate you wouldn’t finish in a day…”

Qiao Yun gently touched the hem of the dress closest to her, a faint warmth flickering in her gaze.

She pulled out her phone and replied to each of them.

[I love them.]

She wasn’t one to fuss about appearances, but with so many people showing their care, she felt both a bit nervous and sowhat expectant.

Ultimately, on the day, Qiao Yun chose the dress prepared for her by Su Mian.

Su Mian hesitated and said, “Should we pick another one?”

The dress she prepared for Qiao Yun was carefully chosen, but it seed a little inferior compared to the ones others had gifted.

Qiao Yun reached out and hugged Su Mian, her voice soft and childlike: “You’re my mom. I want to wear the dress selected by my mom.”

Su Mian was stunned for a mont, then she gently patted Qiao Yun’s back. “Qiaoqiao, are you trying to act spoiled with mom?”

Qiao Yun nodded, “Hmm.”

Su Mian’s heart ward, and she comforted her, “Alright, alright, you’re already so grown, no need to act spoiled. Wear the one mom picked for you, then.”

Qiao Yun happily let go of Su Mian, taking the dress into her room to change.

Su Mian let out a long sigh. A daughter who knows how to act spoiled… really hard to let go of. But turning around, she promptly glared and instructed Lu Zhanxing.

“Behave yourself today. No ssing around.”

Lu Zhanxing looked utterly speechless: “I’m just standing here and taking the bla. Am I that kind of person?”

Su Mian cast him a look clearly spelling out, “You are.”

Lu Zhanxing: “…”

Grinding his teeth, he squeezed out a reply: “Fine, although I’m tempted to stir up so fun, I’d rather my little sister not hate .”

He wasn’t blind.

The deep care his little sister had for Li Hanzhou was crystal clear to him. He wouldn’t dare interfere.

Su Mian was finally satisfied.

“Honey, do you think I look good in this?”

Lu Rui ca downstairs, adjusting his sleeve cuffs, looking sowhat nervous.

Su Mian laughed and cried. “Why are you so nervous?”

“This is the first ti one of our kids is getting engaged,” Lu Rui said, stroking his hair, which was neatly combed and not showing a speck of baldness.

Su Mian sighed, seemingly exasperated. “The youngest ends up being the first to get engaged. Eldest, second, aren’t you two going to hurry up? I’m still waiting to hold a grandchild.”

Lu Zhanxing pretended not to hear.

Lu Jingzhi lightly cleared his throat, “It’s getting late. We should start getting ready to leave.”

Su Mian rolled her eyes.

At that mont, the doorbell rang.

Su Mian temporarily let these two unfilial sons off the hook and hurried to open the door.

Standing at the door was Li Hanzhou.

The man was tall and leggy, dressed in a black suit, a smile playing on his lips, exuding an air of smug satisfaction.

Seeing Su Mian, he politely said, “I’ve co to pick up Qiaoqiao.”

Su Mian was about to invite him in when Qiao Yun descended the stairs.

Li Hanzhou lifted his gaze and saw the girl dressed in a white gown.

Her skin was as flawless as porcelain, her features delicate as a painting, her gaze cool and serene.

Standing on the staircase, she had the holy aura of a deity gazing down.

Li Hanzhou was montarily stunned. He walked up to Qiao Yun, reaching out towards her, his eyes filled with gentle laughter. “I’ve co to pick you up.”

My goddess.

Qiao Yun unhesitatingly placed her hand in Li Hanzhou’s.

The next second, her fingers were tightly interlocked with his.

The Lu Family mbers stared at this scene, speechless in shock.

A handso man and a stunning woman standing together—they seed almost otherworldly.

Only when Li Hanzhou led Qiao Yun out the door did the Lu Family shake themselves out of their stupor.

Lu Jingzhi took a long look at Qiao Yun, pressing his lips together before suddenly asking, “Sister, are you happy now?”

Qiao Yun nodded. “Very happy.”

Lu Jingzhi let out a soft laugh, murmuring, “That’s good… happy is all that matters…”

Qiao Yun tilted her head slightly and, noticing Lu Jingzhi’s reddened eyes, hesitated before turning her gaze away.

Lu Zhanxing warned Li Hanzhou, “You must treat my sister well. Don’t you dare make her cry or upset her.”

Li Hanzhou solemnly replied, “I will treat her well.”

Lu Zhanxing threatened back fiercely, “If you fail, I’ll expose you online and let you get publicly roasted.”

Li Hanzhou wanted to laugh but held back, nodding instead.

Then Lu Zhanxing turned to Qiao Yun, saying, “Sister, if he dares bully you, just go find soone else. We’re not short on n around here.”

Qiao Yun replied seriously, “Okay.”

Li Hanzhou heard this and gave a faintly amused smile.

What nonsense.

He would never give Qiao Yun the chance to look for soone else.
