Yan Qianyi nodded heavily, "Yes, I’ve checked thoroughly and I am certain."

"That’s odd," Mu Yunlie expressed his doubts. "There was no evidence to prove Shirley had been turned, and she hadn’t been convicted, so the idea of a secret execution shouldn’t exist."

"That ans soone inside wanted her dead!" Yan Qianyi glanced at Mai Hunter and sighed with relief.

If that was the case, Ah Lie would definitely agree to her request to save Shirley in order to uncover the truth.

Mai Hunter also let out a sigh and finally relaxed a bit.

He didn’t understand Mu Yunlie as well as Yan Qianyi did, and whether Mu Yunlie would agree with their actions after learning the situation or if he would take Shirley away from Mai Hunter, he was only fifty percent sure.

If Yan Qianyi wasn’t the only one who could possibly save Shirley now, Mai Hunter wouldn’t have taken the risk to reveal Shirley’s whereabouts.

Fortunately, the situation was better than he had anticipated.

Mu Yunlie furrowed his brows in thought, "If that’s really the case, then Shirley must have known sothing back then, and that’s why soone wanted to silence her."

Yan Qianyi said, "Yes, and whoever it was, must hold a high position. They must have used so ans to prevent the doctors from discovering Shirley’s condition, or perhaps they were discovered, but the doctors dared not speak of it."

Mu Yunlie’s eyes darkened slightly, Shirley had been cryogenically frozen for six years, at which ti he was already the Commander of the Federation Empire.

This ant soone had the nerve to pull a fast one right under his nose.

He looked at Mai Hunter and asked, "After you took Shirley away, did she tell you anything?"

Mai Hunter shook his head, "She was at death’s door by then, unable to speak."

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have chosen to freeze her.

Mu Yunlie said gravely, "I will get to the bottom of this!"

If Shirley hadn’t turned and was hard by one of their own, he would not let that person off easy!

Among the many departnts, Mu Yunlie treated the soldiers of the Special Departnt the best.

Because they protected the peace of the Empire from places devoid of light.

Their radiant glory was unseen by others, and they might even bear the infamy and misunderstanding of their families.

Yan Qianyi asked, "Ah Lie, since the Empire didn’t plan to secretly execute Shirley in the first place, can I save her? Once she wakes up, we can ask her and clarify everything."

Mu Yunlie nodded slightly, "Alright."

Yan Qianyi smiled, turned to Mai Hunter excitedly, and saw a smile also appeared on his face.

She really wanted to help Teacher Mai Hunter.

Being candid with Ah Lie was a risk for Teacher Mai Hunter, and for her, it was a gamble on whether her understanding of Ah Lie was correct.

Sure enough, her Ah Lie was not as cold-hearted and inflexible as so believed.

As Yan Qianyi continued to praise Mu Yunlie inwardly, he suddenly doused her with cold water, "But not now."

Yan Qianyi was stunned, "Why?"

Mai Hunter’s smile also froze in an instant as he nervously looked at Mu Yunlie.

Mu Yunlie said, "You’re still in your postpartum recovery period. You must rest well; only after your recovery can you treat her."

"But I’ve already recovered quite a bit..."

"No discussions," Mu Yunlie cut off Yan Qianyi’s protest decisively.

Yan Qianyi still wanted to argue, but Mai Hunter hurriedly interjected, "Qianyi, let’s wait until you’ve completed your postpartum recovery. After all, a few days don’t make much difference."

Yan Qianyi looked helpless.

Although Teacher Mai Hunter said it wouldn’t matter to wait a few more days, she could tell that he was actually very eager and anxious inside.

It was because he had watched over Shirley for so many years that, now knowing she could be awakened, all the previous waiting erupted at this mont.

He must have been longing to see Shirley open her eyes, eager to talk to her.

Any further delay was agony.

Mu Yunlie said, "I will investigate the details of Shirley’s interrogation that happened years ago."

At that ti, he hadn’t dealt with Shirley’s case and wasn’t clear about the specifics.

All he knew was that Shirley had disappeared before her case was fully investigated.

Yan Qianyi nodded, "Alright, then, Teacher Mai Hunter, you just have to wait a bit longer. I can leave the house in seven days."

Mu Yunlie corrected her, "Eight days."

"..." Yan Qianyi.

It was only a one-day difference; was there a need to be so pedantic?

Eight days later, Yan Qianyi finally ended her confinent, which felt like a prison sentence.

Yan Chuhua and the others ca to visit her at ho.

Mu Zerui was also better behaved than when he had just been born. Although his chubby face made him look plump, his facial features were very pronounced.

Yan Chuhua held Mu Zerui, unwilling to let go, as Xue Xiaoguang and Xia Ziyu beside her argued over wanting to hold him, but Yan Chuhua refused to give him up.

Xue Xiaoguang complained, "Chuhua, you’ve been holding him for almost half an hour already! Will you let us hold him at all?"

Yan Chuhua said, "Ruirui just likes holding him, he doesn’t like you guys holding him."

"Nonsense!" Xia Ziyu protested as well, "It’s because you keep holding him and won’t let us."

"Let’s ask Ruirui then." Yan Chuhua clicked her tongue at Mu Zerui in her arms, "Ruirui, tell , do you like your godmother holding you the most? If so, give your godmother a smile."

Mu Zerui cracked a smile and even reached out his little hand, trying to touch Yan Chuhua’s face making goofy expressions.

Yan Chuhua exclaid excitedly, "Look! Ruirui answered , I told you so, he loves being held by the most!"

Xia Ziyu scoffed, "Obviously, you’re just being stubborn. You make funny faces to amuse him, of course he’s going to laugh."

Yan Chuhua had long discovered that as long as she made faces at Ruirui, he would laugh.

This trait of loving to laugh, he had indeed inherited from Yan Qianyi.

Xue Xiaoguang said, "Forget it, Ziyu. Ruirui is a boy; it’s normal for him to like being held by girls. It looks like he’ll break quite a few girls’ hearts when he grows up."

"Not at all," said Yan Chuhua. "When Ruirui grows up, he’ll be just like Commander Mu, a man of deep feelings. Right, Ruirui? My Ruirui is the best behaved, hahaha, so cute when he laughs!"

Seeing how much Yan Chuhua adored him, Xia Ziyu said, "You love kids so much, after you marry Yun Mu, you should hurry up and have one of your own."

At that comnt, Yan Chuhua’s cheeks flushed, and she shot Xia Ziyu a glare, "What are you saying? Yun Mu and I are nowhere near that stage; it’s still too early."

Off to the side, Xue Xiaoguang’s smile dimd a bit.

Yun Mu was chatting with Yan Qianyi over on the couch.

"Yun Mu, I heard from Ah Lie that the Taylor Empire has already arranged for soone to get close to your sister. She’s safe for now, but Xue Yang is still controlling her freedom."

Yun Mu nodded, "Vice Officer Pei has already told ."

"I’ve been busy taking care of Ruirui recently and didn’t ask Ah Lie for details. How is your plan coming along?"

"Quite smoothly. I believe everything will keep getting better." Yun Mu’s gaze drifted towards Yan Chuhua, who was playing with Ruirui in the distance.
