Hei Zai inhaled sharply from the pain, quickly picked up his foot to rub it, and stood on one leg in a golden-rooster-standing-on-one-leg stance.

“My husband is out there,” Yan Qianyi said nervously.

She wasn’t really afraid of anything Hei Zai might uncover about her.

“I just don’t want you to get into trouble.”
After waiting for ten minutes and making certain she wouldn’t et Mu Yunlie upon leaving, Yan Qianyi led Hei Zai out of the private room.
She was about to walk Hei Zai over to the hotel next door when suddenly Mu Yunlie sent her a voice ssage.
She hurriedly gestured to Hei Zai to keep quiet and then stepped aside to answer the voice ssage.
As soon as she connected, Mu Yunlie asked her, “Where are you?”
Yan Qianyi hesitated, why would he suddenly ask where she was?
Had he already noticed her just now?
“I’m out having dinner.” Yan Qianyi said.
“What a coincidence.” Mu Yunlie chuckled softly, “I saw your car in the parking garage; I never expected we’d be dining at the sa place.”
Yan Qianyi was startled but then she breathed a sigh of relief in her heart.
Fortunately, she hadn’t lied.
So integrity really matters. Otherwise, it would eventually lead to a downfall.
“Really?” Yan Qianyi feigned surprise, “How co I didn’t see you?”
“Where are you right now? I’ll co to find you.”
“I’ve already finished eating, are you by my car?”
“Yes.”
“Then wait for there, I’ll co over.”
Hanging up, Yan Qianyi turned to look at Hei Zai.
Hei Zai stood on the street corner, his slender figure looking sowhat pitiful in the chilly autumn night.
She approached him and said, “Well… I can’t walk you to the hotel, I have to go back.”
Hei Zai nodded, pulled the hood of his sweatshirt over his head, and his handso face instantly disappeared into the shadows of the dark.
Yan Qianyi couldn’t make out his expression and said, “It’s not that I don’t want to be friends with you in real life, it’s just that I have a lot of things to face right now, and I don’t want any more complications.”
Hei Zai nodded again, still silent.
This made Yan Qianyi feel sowhat guilty.
She patted his shoulder, “Alright, we’ll still be the most in-sync partners in the future, and when there’s money to be made, I’ll bring you along.”
“When all your issues are resolved, can we be friends in real life then?” Hei Zai asked, his voice very downcast.
Yan Qianyi thought for a mont, “I don’t know about the future, but maybe… we could.”

His handso face shone in the neon lights, instantly bursting into a smile.

Yan Qianyi turned around and headed back to the restaurant.
Then she took the restaurant’s elevator to the underground garage.
Hei Zai watched her back until she disappeared from his sight, yet the smile on his face lingered for a long ti.

Yan Qianyi arrived at the garage and from a distance, she saw Mu Yunlie’s commanding figure.
Mu Yunlie also spotted her and imdiately strode over with his long legs.
As he approached, he couldn’t wait to embrace her and tenderly kissed her forehead.
“So late, who were you dining with here?”
