Chapter 753: Biological Father
Will coughed lightly.
Nico imdiately fell silent and looked apologetic. He then continued, “I’m sorry, I only heard about it. This matter is spreading on the internet.”
Li Beinian had not thought too much about this initially. Now that she was reminded of it, she imdiately thought of another possibility: This guy could have investigated her.
Her gaze lingered on Nico’s face for a few seconds before she quickly said, “It’s alright. This isn’t a secret anymore. Although I’ve cut off all ties with that person, I have a father still.”
When Nico heard this, his already bright eyes seed to light up even more. “You have a father still?”
Li Beinian nodded. “I have Godpa and Godma still. They’ve been very good to since I was a child. Although I’m not their biological daughter, they’ve always treated like their own. Now that I’m getting married, of course they’ll represent as my parents and host my wedding.”
Nico was sowhat disappointed to hear this.
However, he quickly said, “That’s great. I was initially worried that there’d be no elders attending your wedding. Now that I know they will be there, I’m relieved.”
As Nico spoke, his gaze never left the girl. “Beinian, you’re really fortunate.”
“Yes, I’m fortunate indeed. Even though my biological parents abandoned , there are many people who have been very good to . My husband, my grandfather, and my adoptive parents – they’ve always been very good to .”
Nico was slightly taken aback. “Your biological parents...”
“Uh huh.” Li Beinian looked at Nico aningfully and continued, “Actually, I’m not a child of the Li Family.”
Nico’s eyes grew brighter and at the sa ti, he seed a little hesitant. “Then, do you know... who your biological parents are?”
“I don’t.” Li Beinian smiled bitterly.
Nico was inexplicably nervous. He looked at Li Beinian and probed, “Then, are you curious what sort of people your parents might be?”
Li Beinian’s felt rather compelled as she looked intently at Nico.
Noticing Li Beinian’s expression, Nico quickly waved his hand and said, “I’m just a little curious. It doesn’t matter if you answer or not, Beinian.”
Li Beinian laughed and said, “I was curious in the past, but later on I sorted things out in my own head.”
“You sorted things out?”
“Yes.” Li Beinian looked up at him and smiled. “So what if I knew? They abandoned and sent off to live under soone else’s roof. Such irresponsible parents. It’s not as though they’d want back if I were curious about them.”
Nico’s heart was wounded by her unintentional remarks.
Looking at Li Beinian’s face that held a high degree of resemblance to that person’s, Nico tightened his grip and said, “What if it weren’t their intention to abandon you?”
Li Beinian lifted her gaze and looked at the man intensely. With an ambiguous smile, she said. “You’re not him, how would you know?”
Nico paused and quickly said, “In this world, no parent would abandon their child. If he knew of your existence, he would definitely bring you ho and raise you like a little princess, the happiest little princess in the world.”
He spoke fluent Chinese with a strange London accent.
Li Beinian suddenly felt a montary burning in her heart.
Looking up, she noticed the sincerity in Nico’s eyes.
