In the Iron tunnel leading to the launch silo by the seaside, Riot was sprinting with all limbs. The Rocket thrusters of the spacecraft ahead had already begun preheating, and the countdown had less than five minutes remaining.
Of course, Riot couldn’t possibly know that SHIELD had intervened, and even if he managed to get inside the spacecraft successfully, he wouldn’t be able to launch it.
In fact, even without Lin Rui and SHIELD’s involvent, Riot’s plan, even if successful, might not achieve his objectives. After all, Riot had killed many technicians in the Life Foundation control room, and all he had done was halt the launch countdown.
Leaving aside whether a spacecraft of this kind could safely launch into space without the assistance of technicians, even if Riot managed to pilot the craft back to the location where his species was in stasis, the scale of this spacecraft would not allow them to transport all of his kind back to Earth in a single trip.
Furthermore, the Life Foundation had already been thrown into chaos by Eddie, and now Riot had gone on a rampage. In such a situation, it was impossible for the Life Foundation to maintain any semblance of order.
After all, their chairman had transford into a monster, and who would willingly follow him into such a situation?
So, even under the very best circumstances, when Riot returned to Earth with a portion of his kin aboard the isolated spacecraft, the highest probability was that they would be obliterated in outer space.
Or perhaps, they would be surrounded and annihilated as soon as they landed. When dealing with such an obvious extraterrestrial lifeform threat, Earth would not hold back.
It was unclear whether it was due to the inherent low intelligence of the Venom species or for so other reason, but Riot had devised a plan to bring back his kin and conquer Earth.
However, the relationship between Riot and Carlton Drake, the host he had parasitized, might not be as harmonious as that of Eddie and Venom. For the sake of his own survival, Carlton Drake might be forced to go along with Riot’s plans, even if he didn’t want to.
At this mont, Riot was closing in on the launch silo. However, those chasing after him were not far behind. Venom was rapidly approaching from behind.
“Eddie! We can’t beat him!” Venom shouted desperately while pursuing Riot.
Venom was the underdog of their entire species, belonging to the kind of existence that was neither here nor there. But Riot was different. Riot was a leader-level figure, and his strength far surpassed that of Venom.
Although the Venom species, being amorphous in their natural state, could transform into various weapons, this was not an innate talent; it required post-birth learning and growth. Riot had far less experience in battle than Venom and, as a result, was inferior to Riot in terms of the variety of weapons he could transform into.
“We have to fight, even if we can’t win!” Eddie replied loudly upon hearing Venom’s words.
Carlton Drake’s involvent in the brutal and inhumane experints conducted by the Life Foundation had already crossed Eddie’s moral boundaries. Now, Carlton Drake had conspired with an extraterrestrial lifeform like Riot to carry out Earth’s destruction. Eddie couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.
Carlton Drake, who had been deeply influenced by Riot, might not have realized that if he succeeded in bringing those extraterrestrial lifeforms, like Riot, to Earth and they successfully parasitized humans, it could spell disaster for the entire human race and countless other species. At that point, Carlton Drake would be a full-fledged villain.
“Eddie… Do you know what you look like right now?” Getting the expected response, Venom asked a question helplessly.
“What do I look like?”
“A hero fighting the bad guys!”
“…” (I didn’t say I wanted to be a hero!)
In reality, both Venom and Eddie were well aware of that fact.
After Phantom Knight obtained the entire sleeping interstellar coordinates of Venom’s entire clan from Venom, Carlton Drake’s plan was already in shambles. Even without Eddie and Venom to stop him and Riot, they would have faced attacks from Phantom Knight’s backers once they entered space.
Given the strength demonstrated by Phantom Knight that day and Eddie’s subsequent analysis of Phantom Knight’s backers, both Riot and Carlton Drake agreed that Riot and Carlton Drake wouldn’t stand a chance.
In this situation, it seed like Eddie and Venom didn’t need to do anything, as Carlton Drake and Riot would eventually be dealt with.
Nevertheless, Eddie still took the trouble to confront the Life Foundation, or rather, Carlton Drake. These days, he had clashed with Carlton Drake’s teams several tis. Of course, with Venom’s help, Eddie had been victorious ti and again.
These repeated battles made Eddie realize the imnse power he possessed, leading to a change in his mindset.
“Perhaps… I really want to beco a hero too,” Eddie thought silently in his heart, not answering Venom’s question.
Boom!
Then, Venom accelerated once again, leaping nearly a hundred ters ahead and flying over Riot’s head. Venom landed on the Iron Man tunnel and blocked Riot’s path. Seeing Venom blocking his way in a defensive stance, Riot’s face displayed a disdainful expression.
“Venom, I can’t believe your final choice is to team up with such a weakling to stop .”
While speaking, Riot’s hands had already begun to transform into two deadly weapons. Although they were from the sa species, if soone blocked Riot’s path, he would proudly eliminate them without hesitation.
“No choice, bla Eddie for wanting to play the hero,” Eddie replied, rolling his eyes in exasperation.
Boom!
Without paying attention to what Venom’s response ant, Riot’s weapon, heavy and formidable, slamd into the Iron tunnel. The impact sent a shudder through the tunnel, and Venom, who was blocking the path, flinched. It was clear that he couldn’t match Riot’s strength.
“Regardless of the reason, since you’ve chosen to stand in my way… then, prepare to die!” Riot roared lowly and, in the next mont, soared into the sky, wielding his weapons as he struck down at Venom. When dealing with a fellow clan mber who had no presence to begin with, Riot showed no rcy!
