Chapter 1040: Earth is a Mysterious Place
Not long after the Dark Elf invasion incident ended, Thor returned to Earth from Asgard.
However, Lin Rui, unfortunately, went missing in Asgard, leaving Thor feeling guilty about his disappearance. After talking with Tony, Thor made every effort to find Lin Rui as soon as possible.
But even Tony and SHIELD couldn’t locate Lin Rui. How could Thor find him on Earth without any power?
However, just a day ago, Tony suddenly inford Thor that he no longer needed to search for Lin Rui. At that mont, Thor knew that Lin Rui must have been found.
Therefore, Thor had been waiting for Lin Rui to contact him. And as he waited, a whole day passed by. Anyone would be angry after waiting for a day.
Thor, who hadn’t received any contact from Lin Rui, returned to the stray dog shelter. Filled with anger, Thor punched Lin Rui as soon as he arrived and saw him.
“Uh… well… there were so many things to take care of after coming back!” Lin Rui explained awkwardly upon hearing Thor’s words.
Indeed, after returning, Lin Rui was very busy. Within a day, he had to et and chat with several important allies, and he also needed to visit his parents.
So, Thor, who had no urgent matters, was forgotten by Lin Rui. After all, the Dark Elf incident was about to end, and there shouldn’t be anything important happening in Asgard.
“Finally, the busy person rembers .” Thor’s tone was unfriendly as he heard Lin Rui’s explanation.
“Hehe, I’ve been thinking about you. That’s why I ca as soon as I had so free ti.” Knowing he was in the wrong, Lin Rui could only go along with it. After all, Thor’s mocking wouldn’t really affect him.
“Alright, I don’t feel like arguing with you anymore. Judging by your current state, it seems that you not only survived being transported through the space portal in Asgard but also beca much stronger.” Thor waved his hand and walked towards a chair in the living room while speaking.
“That’s just my good luck.” Seeing Thor’s actions, Lin Rui knew that everything was fine, so he followed and sat down on a chair.
“What about the Magic Cube? Do you still have it? Back then, it seed like you were already able to use so of the Magic Cube’s power, or else you couldn’t have created so many space portals.” Thor continued questioning as he sat down on a chair, looking at Lin Rui who had also taken a seat.
The Aether Particle is currently in Asgard, sealed by King Odin and Queen Frigga’s joint efforts. The Magic Cube last appeared in Lin Rui’s hands, so it should still be with him. However, Thor couldn’t sense the power of the Magic Cube from Lin Rui.
“The Magic Cube? It’s not with anymore. I took it to Tony and the others for research. Instead of keeping it with for personal use, it’s better to let everyone enhance their abilities together.” Lin Rui truthfully answered Thor’s inquiry.
In the original plot, Thor was supposed to bring the Magic Cube back to Asgard. But now, Lin Rui felt that Thor wouldn’t take the Magic Cube away anymore. Perhaps it was better to keep the Magic Cube on Earth, considering Asgard already had the Aether Particle.
“You took it for research?!” Thor sat up straight in his chair upon hearing Lin Rui say that he took the Magic Cube for research, raising his voice.
“Yeah, what’s the matter? Why are you so worked up?” Lin Rui asked, puzzled by Thor’s reaction.
“Never mind, I can only say that you guys are too ignorant. That’s an Infinity Stone. With your technology, what can you possibly research from it? I was already surprised that you could use a bit of spatial energy. Maybe you could still make so use of it in your hands.” Shaking his head, Thor bluntly remarked.
In Thor’s view, the Magic Cube, like the Aether Particle, belonged to the top treasures of the universe. Except for those incredibly powerful individuals who could harness so of their power, others were unable to control these items.
Considering Earth’s technology, it was impossible to research anything significant from a divine artifact like the Magic Cube.
However, Thor didn’t know that Earth was a remarkable place.
Although the average level of technology on Earth may not currently match the overall level of the universe, Earth surpasses so other civilizations in certain aspects.
Moreover, Hydra had previously conducted research on space transportation from the Magic Cube, and now Tony and his team have even greater possibilities for research.
“Of course, I know it’s an Infinity Stone, and I understand that Earth may not be advanced enough yet. But Earth is always a place where miracles happen. Haven’t you discovered that after living on Earth for so long? Earth is truly a remarkable place,” Lin Rui calmly explained upon hearing Thor’s words.
“A place where miracles happen?” Thor murmured, his eyes flickering as he heard Lin Rui’s words.
“That’s right, Earth is indeed a place where miracles happen! It seems that I underestimated it. Perhaps the future of Earth relies on you all,” Thor said with a slightly excited tone, looking at Lin Rui after muttering to himself.
Clearly, after Lin Rui’s reminder, Thor reevaluated Earth. During his ti on Earth, he had witnessed many things. Compared to Asgard or the Dark Elf race, Earth’s overall power was significantly weaker.
However, Earth had an impressive group of individuals when it ca to top-tier power. And let’s not forget the sorcerers on Earth, who possessed the authority of the Ancient One, the sorcerer supre.
“Of course, we will protect Earth!” Lin Rui said seriously upon hearing Thor’s words.
“Haha, don’t worry, I will help you too. I really like Earth,” Thor said, patting Lin Rui’s shoulder with a smile.
“Well, thank you in advance, Thor.”
“Hey! Thor! What are you doing outside? Hurry up and co in to clean the dog shelter!” Just as Lin Rui and Thor were sitting in the living room chatting, Ben’s loud shout ca from inside the stray dog shelter.
“I’m coming!” Thor quickly responded upon hearing Ben’s voice.
Then, Thor got up and walked towards the back, with Lin Rui following him. Since Lin Rui had visited the stray dog shelter before, he was familiar with so of the dogs there. If he had the ti, he would have loved to adopt one.
“Oh, by the way, Jackson, there’s sothing I need to tell you,” Thor said without looking back as they walked toward the back.
“What is it?”
“My brother, Loki, has returned from the front lines.”
Lin Rui: “…”
