Chapter 274: Chapter 269: The Death of Black Wolf

Next, the two of them headed towards the place Huang Yi had sensed, and after walking 9 kiloters, they finally ca across a small oasis.

At this ti, the oasis was heavily guarded, with so powerful wolf bosses patrolling back and forth, and there were also so animal carcasses on the ground, likely from animals that had wandered in by mistake and were killed on the spot.

"It looks like that’s the Black Wolf’s den, but those bosses outside are quite troubleso. There are bosses from level seventy to eighty, and we absolutely can’t beat them. You stay here, and I’ll go over and scope out the situation. The Black Wolf is in the central area of the oasis," Huang Yi whispered. At this mont, he and Overlord were hiding behind a clump of seaberry grass, gazing distantly at the small oasis.

Overlord shook his head, "I should be the one to go. I have a skill called Spirit Wanderer, which ans my soul can leave my body and go unnoticed, while I can still see others. But you must protect my body well, as if my body dies, I’ll lose levels," said Overlord as his body suddenly shimred, and a faint soul appeared beside him, swaggering towards the oasis.

At this ti, since Huang Yi and he were in a team, Huang Yi could see his soul; had it been anyone else, they would not have seen it, a bit like his own state of Nothingness. However, Overlord’s skill was more agile since it allowed for movent, though the downside was his body couldn’t be controlled and would just lie still as if it were a corpse. If an enemy were to co after his body now, he would undoubtedly die.

Soon, Overlord’s soul entered the small oasis and disappeared from sight.

Huang Yi patiently waited, and there seed to be no changes inside the oasis, which suggested that Overlord was being very cautious and had not been detected.

Hot desert winds blew, making the seaberry grass flutter and sand fill the sky.

Huang Yi had been waiting for over ten minutes, but Overlord still hadn’t returned, leaving him unsure of what might have happened.

After a while longer, Overlord’s soul finally reappeared from the oasis, rushed back, and dove into the bushes of seaberry grass, rging back with his own body.

Then, his body opened its eyes, waking up.

"I checked it out. There are about twenty bosses above level seventy patrolling inside the oasis. The Black Wolf is inside the third straw hut in the center of the oasis. Right now, it’s lying on the bed, barely clinging to life, and a few shamans from the Werewolf Clan are casting healing spells on it, but the healing is very slow. I just overheard their conversation; in a bit, the two shamans will leave to let the Black Wolf rest quietly," Overlord imdiately reported what he had seen and heard.

"Alright, I’ll make my move in five minutes!" Huang Yi nodded, his eyes intently fixed on the central area of the small oasis.

"I’ll lend you a hand!" Overlord said, tapping his staff lightly on Huang Yi’s body.

Suddenly, Huang Yi’s body beca transparent and vanished into thin air, having turned invisible.

Huang Yi discovered that he was now under an "Appear and Disappear Unpredictably" status, offering Absolute Invisibility for fifteen minutes, unable to be detected by ordinary Revealing Skills or items. However, as soon as he launched an attack or took damage, he would imdiately beco visible.

"I wish you smooth sailing!" Overlord said with a slight Smile.

Huang Yi nodded, "Alright, just stand here. Once the Black Wolf dies, it will release a massive amount of Experience Points, and you’ll be able to get so of it from here. Also, be ready to flee at any mont. I might be able to kill the Black Wolf, but not his horde of level seventy to eighty boss minions!"

Huang Yi’s plan was to share the experience. The Black Wolf was a Holy Domain Warrior, and he didn’t know how many Experience Points it would give upon death. He wanted Overlord to get so so he could level up faster.

Besides, he was also considering his own situation. He feared that after the death of the Black Wolf, the massive Experience Points would push him over level sixty-five, and once that happened, it would beco very hard for him to get the Earthwalking Dragon’s reins, as the Drop Rate would beco extrely low.

Overlord nodded, his wrinkled face forming a smile, "Though my na is Overlord, which sounds like a burly warrior, I’m just an old Skull. I never go head-to-head with others. I know how to escape, so rest assured!"

"Good, I’m off then!" Seeing that the timing was almost right, Huang Yi imdiately dashed towards the small oasis, while Overlord continued to hide behind the clump of seaberry grass, ready to wait for the hefty Experience Points to descend.

Gradually, Huang Yi entered the small oasis. There was a tension-laden atmosphere, and he silently moved towards the central area, dodging the nurous patrolling guards along the way.

Just then, a level seventy Sand Wolf boss suddenly started moving in his direction. Huang Yi promptly stood still, motionless.

The Sand Wolf approached step by step, its movents sharp like a keen hunter, sniffing the air as if it caught the scent of Huang Yi!

Huang Yi held his breath, intently watching the Sand Wolf boss in front of him.

This was the difference between Invisibility and Nothingness. Invisibility wasn’t wholly undetectable since traces could still exist, despite being unseen; However, Nothingness ant total disappearance, as if Nonexistent, impossible to detect.

Gradually, the Sand Wolf got closer and closer to Huang Yi, its senses far from ordinary, being the king of the Sand Wolves and a level seventy boss. It faintly sensed an unfamiliar human scent carried by the wind from up ahead.

Finally, the Sand Wolf ca within a ter of Huang Yi!

Huang Yi was now holding his breath, fearing even the slightest sound might give him away.

Soon, the Sand Wolf was only half a ter away from Huang Yi.

Its sharp claws reflected the dazzling light as they pressed against the ground, saliva dripping from its mouth, one drop after another onto the sand. Its gaze was stern, as if it could see through all disguises.

At this mont, ti seed to stand still. Huang Yi and the Sand Wolf, almost within arm’s reach, were about to et!

Just at that mont, a sudden gust of wind blew, causing the fur of the Sand Wolves to lift slightly!

The Sand Wolf finally stopped its steps, its gaze fixed in the direction of Huang Yi, sowhat puzzled.

After watching for two seconds, it shook its head and turned to walk away.

Huang Yi let out a slight sigh of relief, this was a close call with no danger, and he continued walking towards the center of the small oasis.

Gradually, he arrived in front of a straw hut in the middle of the small oasis. There were faint bloodstains in front of the hut, indicating that soone severely wounded had entered it.

"Creak!" Just then, the door of the straw hut was opened, and two werewolves wearing black sacrificial robes ca out, then gently closed the door behind them.

Through the narrow crack of the door, Huang Yi could vaguely see a figure lying on the bed inside, and although it was just a fleeting glimpse, he knew it was the Black Wolf!

Eventually, the two werewolves in black sacrificial robes walked away, apparently to give the Black Wolf so peace and quiet to rest.

Next, Huang Yi used various magic items, even the Frenzy Potion that had developed in a dicine bottle two days ago, increasing his attack power by 10% for the next 24 hours.

After making these preparations, his strength surged considerably, and he quietly approached the door.

At this mont, he was like a Harbinger of Death, going to claim the life of the Black Wolf, with a piece of Legendary Equipnt waiting for him inside.

Huang Yi arrived in front of the house, slowly pushing the door open, and the scene inside imdiately ca into view.

The room was rudintary, with only a stone bed, on which lay a burly figure, with the head of a wolf and the body of a man, but with no limbs remaining, only a torso and a head, the wounds too severe for words.

This person was indeed the Black Wolf whom Huang Yi had been searching for, who was now lying on the stone bed with his eyes closed, motionless.

"Creak!" Just then, the wooden door that Huang Yi was pushing suddenly made a noise, clear and distinct!

"Didn’t I say not to let anyone in?" the Black Wolf said angrily, eyes still closed.

Huang Yi stayed silent and slowly walked inside.

"Hmm?" The Black Wolf sensed sothing was amiss and suddenly opened his eyes, cautiously turning his head to look at the doorway, but at that mont Huang Yi was in a state of Absolute Invisibility, and the Black Wolf could not see him, only the wooden door being pushed open automatically.

"It was just the wind." The Black Wolf breathed a sigh of relief, closed its eyes again, and continued to sleep.

The air returned to silence, the atmosphere of the desert unbearably hot, punctuated by a gust of wind bringing with it a wave of heat.

Just then, a drop of sweat appeared on the ground beside the Black Wolf’s bed, it was from Huang Yi.

Huang Yi was now beside the bed of the Black Wolf, for the first ti so close to the Black Wolf, he could clearly see its black fur, the texture of flesh and blood on its wounds, the wrinkles on its face.

This peerless powerhouse now lay there in a weakened state, within reach for Huang Yi.

At this mont, dozens of BOSSes in the Green State were patrolling tightly, the atmosphere tense and solemn, with no one knowing that a God of Slaughter lurked inside the house of the Black Wolf.

The Black Wolf had entirely fallen into sleep, a droplet of drool escaping from the corner of its mouth, slowly dripping down, with the first sounds of snoring filling the air.

At that mont, a burst of light and energy exploded in the air, and a massive hamr furiously smashed down towards its head!

At the sa ti, Huang Yi’s figure appeared beside the bed, his expression fierce as he stared at the Black Wolf!

The Black Wolf, as a warrior of the Holy Domain, had incredibly sharp perception, and this sudden shock woke it from its slumber, and it imdiately opened its eyes!

In its pupils, all that could be seen was the sight of a hamr growing larger and larger, with no ti to see anything else!

"Bang!" The next mont, the Black Wolf was struck by that hamr!

Huang Yi was slightly pleased and reached out to quickly pick up the dropped items and make a hasty escape!

But just then, a golden light suddenly flashed on the Black Wolf’s body, forming a Barrier, firmly blocking Huang Yi’s hamr!

The Black Wolf’s body actually had a Protective Barrier, blocking this lethal strike! (To be continued.
