Gran Jurad looked surprised by this question.

At the sa ti, the guard looked like he raised his guard as if sothing was about to happen.

Seeing the misunderstanding that she caused, Saintess Amy quickly said, "No, no, it’s not like that. I was just wondering where you ca from and what you were doing when you saved us."

After saying this, she looked like she realized that she had said sothing wrong.

After all, the way that she said this still seed like she was accusing him of sothing.

However, Gran Jurad didn’t take offense at this.

Instead, he simply responded, "I was passing by and heard the commotion, so I ca to help."

This seed like a perfectly logical explanation if not for the fact that they were currently in the middle of the forest. As well, it was currently the middle of the night, so it was strange that he was simply ’passing by’.

As such, the guard narrowed his eyes to ask, "And why were you passing by this place?"

Gran Jurad didn’t panic when he saw this, he just calmly turned to look at the guard before saying, "I was on my way to Fairview for the hero ceremony. I was worried that I would be late since I was traveling on foot and wanted to get there as soon as possible."

The guard’s expression slowly changed as he nodded along to this.

This ti, it seed that his explanation had convinced him.

That was because it was the hero ceremony that he was talking about.

The hero ceremony was an extraordinary event that was being held by the Holy Church, so it could be understood why he was going this far to reach it.

This was just part of their thoughts that had been changed over a long period of ti.

And the fact that he was soone that was aspiring to be a hero made them have an even better impression of him.

After a mont of silence, Saintess Amy said, "Sir Gran, how about traveling with us? We’re heading to Fairview for the hero ceremony as well, so it’ll be faster if you co with us."

The guard looked like he had sothing to say about this, but he stopped when he saw the way that Saintess Amy looked at Gran Jurad.

It was clear that there was sothing different about the way that she looked at him which made him hesitate.

But in the end, he felt like he still had to say sothing, "My lady, this isn’t appropriate."

Saintess Amy looked at the guard with a serious look as she said, "I can sense sothing special about Sir Gran."

The guard was about to say sothing in response to this, but Saintess Amy quickly said, "I can sense that sothing will change with the hero ceremony because of Sir Gran."

A strange look appeared on the faces of the maid and the guard when they heard this.

After all, they might not have taken it seriously if it wasn’t Saintess Amy who said this. However, since it was Saintess Amy who was saying this, they had no choice but to believe it.

So the way that they looked at Gran Jurad completely changed.

After a while, the guard gave a nod to show that he agreed with what she said.

Saintess Amy didn’t seem worried that the guard would disagree, she even looked like she had already expected this reaction from him.

Instead, she was looking at Gran Jurad as if she was just waiting for him to agree.

But there was a trace of hesitation that was on his face as he said, "I really don’t think that would be good. I was just passing by and you already repaid by helping heal that wound of mine. I think that it would be best if we just go our own separate ways."

Before he could move though, Saintess Amy suddenly ca forward and grabbed him by the sleeve.

When he looked at her, he found that she was looking at him with big wide eyes as she said, "Do you really not want to co with ? Is there sothing wrong with ?"

The way that she looked at him was as if she was a puppy dog flashing her big wide eyes at him.

That made Gran Jurad feel awkward.

He looked around as if he was trying to find soone to help him, but there really wasn’t anyone that was even looking in his direction.

Both the maid and the guard had turned away, as if they were ignoring what was happening.

"Do your jobs..." That was the complaint that passed through Gran Jurad’s mind when he saw them like this.

But in the end...

"Alright, I’ll co with you." Gran Jurad said with a sigh.

Saintess Amy imdiately cheered up when she heard this before she pulled him away into the camp that the guards had been setting up.

There was a reluctant smile that was on Gran Jurad’s face, but in his eyes...

"Boo!"

These were the jeers that ca from inside his mind, but Gran Jurad just completely ignored them as he focused on the Saintess Amy.

After all, she was his target this ti.

It was important what she thought of him, so he would do all he could do to make her happy.

...

"So it’s all in the face, isn’t it?" Val Zahar thought as he watched the scene in the camp.

Behind him were a bunch of monsters that were all standing there comforting him, but he just waved his hand at them to show that it was fine.

Of course, he didn’t miss his chance to complain to Gran Jurad through the shared connection that they had.

Once he was done with his job, now all that was left was to find a place to develop himself as the demon lord.

But before he could leave this place...

"Swish!"

There was a blade of dark energy that ca from behind him.
