"Here’s the one for today." I said as I dropped a person down on the bar.
When I did, Vanessa ca over with a wide smile before saying, "Conan, how long did it take you this ti?"
Conan, that was the na of this avatar.
It was the na of a famous barbarian from my past, so it was perfect for this avatar.
"Ha, ha, ha, this one was quite the slippery fellow. If it wasn’t for my sharp nose, then I really wouldn’t have been able to find him."
"Oh, tell all about it."
"Buy a drink first and we’ll talk."
Vanessa was about to pour a drink for , but she was stopped by her father, the owner of the bar.
"Reddick, are you so stingy that you won’t even offer a drink?" I asked with a teasing smile.
"Sir Conan, it isn’t like that at all. It’s just that my daughter has no ti to spend here when there’s still other custors to serve. I hope that you won’t mind this." The owner of the bar Reddick said with an apologetic smile.
I didn’t mind, but I knew that it wasn’t as simple as he said.
What he was trying to do was actually keep Vanessa away from .
As if he couldn’t make his disapproval of more clear, he just didn’t want anywhere near his daughter.
But since we had a working relationship, it was impossible.
Since that day, I had been taking bounties from this bar.
Vanessa was acting as a bounty broker for and choosing out good bounties for .
Though the one thing that I had to note was that she only chose bounties on people that really deserved it.
Bounties in the wilderness was sothing that anyone could put up as long as they had the money. So that didn’t an that only bad people had bounties on their heads in this place, there were plenty of good people that had bounties on them as well because of various reasons.
But Vanessa made sure to only pick out the bounties for the people that really deserved it.
This was an extra bit of work on her part, but she made sure to do it still.
The bounty for this person that I caught wasn’t that high, but I didn’t mind since it wasn’t as if it was a bad thing to take care of so trash.
However, Vanessa knew that I had been taking so of the bounties with lower prices because of her suggestions.
That was why today, she brought out sothing special.
"I’ve heard that this one is a bit dangerous, but I know that you’ll be able to do it."
This voice was filled with confidence, but at the sa ti...I could hear the worry that was in her voice.
So I looked at the special bounty that she picked out for .
She was right about this one being dangerous since it was a quest that I rembered from the ga.
This was a bounty about a nad NPC, which ant that this would be a hard one to defeat.
That was if it wasn’t for the fact that I had the stats of five different people.
It might be difficult for soone that was just establishing themselves in the wilderness to take care of this quest, but it wasn’t a problem for . And at the sa ti, I had been waiting for this quest to appear for a while now.
That was because this quest was a special one.
It was one that only appeared after one obtained a certain amount of fa.
For the quest line that involved bounties, this was considered a rank enhancing quest. Once I finished this bounty, then I would have access to higher tier bounties from more prominent people in this wilderness.
It was basically establishing myself in this place.
"Shaka the Butcher..." I read out loud as I looked at the details on the bounty.
"That’s right, he’s soone that’s been wanted in these parts for a while now. He’s soone that kills anyone that crosses his path and steals everything that they have, that’s why they call him the butcher. I’ve heard that he even defeated a few of the tribal warriors." Vanessa said in a heavy voice.
The tribal warriors that she was referring to were the special warriors that ca from the large tribes of this wilderness.
They were known as special warriors because of the special technique that they used.
This was a technique that involved them drawing on totems that they engraved on their bodies to use the power of animals.
With these totems, they were far stronger than normal warriors.
But even with how she described it...
A faint smile appeared on my lips as I said to her, "It seems like a challenge and I like challenges. Don’t worry, I’ve never lost before."
Though this made Vanessa reveal a faint smile, she did have a worried look in her eyes. At the sa ti, it was as if she felt a bit of guilt since she was the one that chose this bounty out in the first place.
So in the end, she pulled out sothing from behind her and said, "Give your hand."
I looked at her with one brow raised, but I still reached my hand out towards her.
She brought her hands out from behind her and placed sothing in my hand before saying, "For your safety."
Then before I could say anything, she ran off to serve the custors again.
To the side, Reddick looked at with a very heavy look on his face.
It seed like he wanted to tear apart, but he couldn’t do it since he knew the difference in strength between us.
Even before opening my hand, I already knew what she gave .
This was a special necklace in the wilderness.
It was a special confession necklace that people gave to each other.
"She really doesn’t hold back at all." I couldn’t help saying under my breath as a smile creeped on my face.
