"Do you see him over there?"
"Right, he looks like he’s soone that thinks he’s so important."
"One of those people that couldn’t care less about people like us."
Hearing them say this, I couldn’t help revealing a faint smile.
"Stark, we know that you feel the sa way as us." The adventurers said after seeing reveal this smile.
But I just said, "Let’s not talk about that and focus on the job at hand. There’s still a while before we reach our destination."
They looked at as if I was a killjoy, but I didn’t say anything as they headed off to finish their tasks.
After all, it wasn’t as if I really could say anything since I was also the person that they were insulting.
This was an escort mission that we were on and it was one that was commissioned by Rothchild. This was a mission that had specifically gone to adventurers like us who lived in the rural area which was already strange enough.
But no one was complaining about free work.
After all, it wasn’t as if the place that we were escorting the caravan to was that dangerous of a place and it wasn’t as if there was anything in between these spots.
However, there was a special reason for this commission.
"Alright, everyone take a break." Rothchild suddenly said while we were in the middle of traveling.
Everyone was confused since it hadn’t been that long since we had set off and it wasn’t as if we were near a place where we could take a comfortable break. This was a place that really was in the middle of nowhere and he was calling for a break now.
This made a few of the adventurers a bit unhappy, but they didn’t show it to their employer.
Instead, they ca to complain to .
However, they didn’t get that long with since I was called.
"You, the caravan leader needs you for sothing."
The mont that the adventurers heard this, they couldn’t help narrowing their eyes to look at the one that was calling for . Then they stepped forward to stand between and that person before saying, "Why is he calling him? If it’s not for a good reason, then don’t even think about it."
Though they were our employers, it didn’t seem like the adventurers were planning to get along with them.
The one that had co to call had an awkward look on his face when he saw this.
After all, he was just a ssenger that had been sent to pass on a ssage.
This certainly wasn’t the reaction that he had been expecting when he passed on the ssage.
Seeing this, I stepped forward and said, "It’s fine, I’ll go and see what our employer wants."
Hearing this, all of the adventurers narrowed their eyes to look at .
Finally, they said, "If he tries to make you do sothing that you don’t want to do, there’s no need for you to listen to him."
I couldn’t help shaking my head with a bitter smile when I heard this since I knew that they had misunderstood sothing. Especially since I had the appearance of a child...
But this kind of misunderstanding wasn’t the kind of misunderstanding that was that easy to solve, so I just gave a nod to show that I understood before following the ssenger.
While he was leading to the main caravan, he also felt the urge to say sothing, "Our leader isn’t like that...but if sothing does happen, feel free to run."
Even Rothchild’s own employees were thinking this strange thing which caused a bitter feeling to fill .
Once I arrived, I saw that it was just him that was waiting there.
"You’re causing a big misunderstanding by doing sothing like this." I said in a bitter voice.
Rothchild looked confused when he heard this before he asked, "What do you an by that?"
"Asking soone that looks like to et in a private place like this, don’t you think that will cause misunderstandings?" I said in a sarcastic tone.
A surprised look appeared on his face before his expression twisted and he said, "They really don’t think that I’m into that, right? It’s not like that at all..."
I shook my head and said with a sigh, "It doesn’t matter if you are or not, once the rumours start, it’s hard for them to stop."
His expression beca a bit more twisted when he heard this, but there really wasn’t anything that he could say about this. After all, the more that he tried to explain, the more that it would beco twisted.
"Please say sothing once you leave..." That was all that he could say in the end.
"Alright, just tell why you called here. The longer that I stay here, the worse that it’ll be." I said in an impatient voice.
After all, he wasn’t the only one that would be suffering if there were rumours that started to circulate. It would be rumours that would affect both of us and I would prefer not to have these kinds of rumours surrounding .
"I just wanted to hand you this. This is the key that you’ll be using later to activate the tomb." Rothchild said as he took out this golden curved thing.
I took it without a word since I already knew what it was and I turned to leave so that I didn’t have to stay here any longer.
But before leaving, I couldn’t help turning around to ask, "Couldn’t you have done this in any other way?"
Rothchild revealed a bitter smile as he said, "I keep forgetting that you look like that, so I forgot that this was wrong. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to rember for next ti."
"There won’t be a next ti." I said with narrowed eyes.
Rothchild wasn’t afraid of since we were the sa person, so he gave a simple nod in response.
I turned and walked out with a sigh.
