"How are things going with the mines?" I asked the foreman that had been left here to take care of this place.
"Chief, everything’s going fine and we’ve already mined out the first batch of iron. It’ll take so ti to pack everything up, but the first shipnt should arrive soon."
I gave a nod to show I understood before taking a look at the mines themselves.
It had already been a week since we took care of the tal Lizards, but it was still surprising that they had been able to rebuild the entire mine during this ti.
That just went to show how hard working they were to have rebuilt it all during this ti.
Before I could say anything else, there was a bell that was suddenly rung.
The mont that the foreman heard this, he imdiately dropped everything that he had been doing and turned in a certain direction. However, this direction wasn’t in the direction of the mine.
It seed like he was heading away from the mines for so reason.
After seeing this, I couldn’t help following and asking, "What’s wrong? Did sothing happen?"
The foreman didn’t even look back at as he simply said, "It’s feeding ti."
A bitter smile appeared on my face when I heard this.
It wasn’t that I didn’t understand what he was saying, it was just that the words that he said filled with this bitter feeling.
After following the foreman for a bit, we arrived in a place where there were a bunch of people that were already gathered. These people were the people that worked in these mines.
It seed that all of them had done the sa thing as the foreman as they dropped everything that they were doing to gather in this place.
The reason that all of them had gathered here was because of the things at the center of this crowd.
It was a group of baby tal Lizards.
This was sothing that we had discovered after taking care of the adult tal Lizards.
In the space that the adult tal Lizards gathered, there had been no traces of these baby tal Lizards at all. That was why even though I had been there with them, I had no idea that there were these baby tal Lizards in the mine.
It seed that the tal Lizards were a species that didn’t have a habit of taking care of their young, which was why these baby tal Lizards had been left in a separate cave.
With the condition of that cave, it really seed like they had just been abandoned by their parents.
However, we didn’t do the sa when we discovered these tal Lizards.
While it wasn’t certain if it was possible at the ti, we decided to attempt it.
That was why I had left these baby tal Lizards with the foreman and the miners to take care of.
When I had left them here, it seed like the foreman and the miners had been scared to approach them. But after a week had passed, it seed like everything had changed with them.
"Who’s my little baby?"
"You’re eating so well today!"
"Co here and give a kiss!"
Instead of treating them like terrifying monsters, they were treating these baby tal Lizards as if they were so kind of pet.
It wasn’t as if the tal Lizards were that cute since they were still tal Lizards, they still looked like terrifying lizards that were made of tal.
But if I were to say this, there was no doubt that these people would imdiately start to argue with .
I had seen people like this in my past life, so I knew that there was nothing to gain from saying anything about their pets to them. It was best to just agree with whatever they were saying to avoid antagonizing them.
Though the one good thing about this was that it seed that the tal Lizards were responding positively to the love that they were showing them.
It seed that the tal Lizards were taking these miners as their family with how they showed affection to them.
I had been doubtful that the tal Lizards would be able to show this kind of affection, but it seed like I was wrong.
"Well, they are able to form packs in the wild, so they should be capable of sothing like this. It’s just that we’ll have to be careful when they grow up or else they might just abandon us in the future." I said while watching all of this, but I didn’t feel that worried.
After all, it really seed like they had a close bond.
It was almost like watching the bond between dog owners and their dogs in my past life.
Though while I was watching the miners, it seed like they were taking things a bit too far.
Most of these miners were young n who didn’t have a family of their own yet, so it seed like they were relying on these tal Lizards for companionship instead. It was like how young adults in my past life would revolve themselves around their pets.
"As long as they don’t cause too much trouble, it should be fine." I said to myself, but I really wasn’t that certain.
Still, with these tal Lizards, it would be easier guarding the mines in the future.
If we could train these tal Lizards, they would be an effective team for guarding these mines.
It all depended on how they would develop.
Though there was no doubt that they would grow up stronger than the tal Lizards that we took out.
I had slipped sothing into their food on the first day.
It was a few drops of blood that I had harvested from the tal Lizards that had been their parents.
These were drops of blood that had contained the dragon essence that those tal Lizards possessed.
After absorbing these drops of blood, there was no doubt that the baby tal Lizards would have their bloodline refined.
