Velra and Savra returned, pulling along several captured devils.
The beasts snarled and struggled, but both won dragged them with ease.
The sect girls quickly gathered. Velra waved her hand. "Take these and cook them. Tonight, we’ll have a feast."
The girls cheered and hurried to drag the devils away.
So sharpened knives, so carried large pots, and others began to prepare fire pits.
Velra and Savra then walked into the main hall, their steps confident.
Inside, Zain was seated in the high chair, with Zelia standing beside him.
His crimson eyes looked at them. "How did it go?"
Velra smirked, resting her whip on her shoulder. "They agreed. The stronghold will leave. The Devil Nest is ours now."
Savra crossed her arms, flas flickering on her fingertips.
"But..." she added, "they only gave us the Devil Nest itself. Not the outside area."
Zain leaned forward, a sharp smile tugging his lips.
"So you’re saying they gave us the nest but locked us in. If we step out, they’ll attack."
Zelia tapped her chin, thinking carefully. "Then their thinking is like this."
"They believe we can use the ether inside the Devil Nest, but not for long."
"They want to wait. When the ether burns us out, they’ll strike when we leave this place."
Her calm eyes shifted to Velra and Savra. "Tell ..."
"What exactly did you do to them? Why would they threaten us so openly? Did you mock them?"
Velra chuckled and shrugged. "Call it mocking if you want."
"But rember, they started it. They sent their elites to ’test us,’ and we crushed them."
Savra smirked, tossing her hair back. "They can’t bla us for their weakness."
"If they lost, it only proves they aren’t fit to hold this place."
Zain’s smile widened, his gaze cold and dangerous.
"Good. Let them think they’ve trapped us. Let them build their walls outside."
He rose slowly from his seat, every step echoing through the hall.
"My [Heavenly Demon Sect] will turn this place into my domain," he said.
"For now, the core area belongs to . But soon, I will spread it further. Slowly, the Devil Nest will beco ours completely."
He lifted his hand, dark ether swirling at his fingertips.
"And when I expand way beyond the devil nest, they will regret ever mocking ."
"Every area I claim will be filled with demonic ether. The land will twist and change."
"Their walls will not protect them. They will choke on the very air they breathe."
"I will turn their safe grounds into poison, chasing them farther and farther away."
The girls around the hall bowed, trembling with excitent.
Savra smirked, leaning back against a pillar, her arms crossed.
"Good plan, Zain. But to do that, you’ll need a lot of ether. The spread won’t be small."
Velra walked forward, her whip coiled at her hip. She tilted her head with a playful grin.
"Still... I like it. Turning their stronghold into a graveyard without even lifting a blade. Very fitting for you, Master."
Zain chuckled low. "Ether? I’ll take what I need. Nothing will stop ."
Savra flicked her crimson hair and snapped her fingers, a small fla dancing above her palm.
"Then before you begin, let’s eat. I told the girls to prepare the devils we captured."
"Tonight, we celebrate. The Devil Nest is ours."
Velra licked her lips slightly and smiled. "A perfect feast after a perfect victory."
Zain smirked, his eyes narrowing in satisfaction.
"Good. I’ve been hungry ever since I finished turning the girls into new mbers of the sect. Let’s go."
The three of them walked out together. Outside, the sll of roasted devil at and boiling stew already filled the air.
The sect girls shouted with joy, waving as their leaders appeared.
For the first ti, the Heavenly Demon Sect feasted in the Devil Nest as its true rulers.
---
A full year had passed since the Devil Nest had been given to the Heavenly Demon Sect.
Outside the nest, just beyond the corrupted lands, the four True Supres had built a new stronghold.
Inside the hall of the stronghold, the four sat together.
The Beastman Supre leaned forward on the table, claws tapping against the wood.
The Hero Supre stood with arms crossed, staring at the map of the Devil Nest.
The Mage Supre adjusted her staff beside her, while the Cultivator Supre closed his eyes in thought.
The Mage Supre spoke first. "Report. Any movents from inside this past year?"
The guards standing at attention shook their heads. "No, Supre."
"Not a single movent. No demons. No monsters. Not even ether waves leaving the nest."
The four Supres exchanged glances.
"That’s strange," the Hero Supre muttered.
"In past years, devils always appeared every few days, sotis in packs. But now... nothing?"
The Mage Supre frowned, her grip tightening on her staff. "Can they really last this long inside?"
"Are they truly able to harness the Devil Nest’s ether without suffering the drawbacks?"
The Hero Supre turned sharply, his golden eyes narrowing. "If that’s true... then it’s troubleso."
"If they can truly convert that ether into their own power, then their strength will grow into sothing hard to fight."
The Beastman Supre smirked, leaning back in his chair.
"Then why don’t we just march in and attack? Take their thod for ourselves."
The Cultivator Supre opened his eyes and shook his head.
"It’s not that simple. From what I sense, those two won were also cultivators."
"And for cultivators, especially demonic ones, they always use strange thods."
"Their arts often twist the mind, sotis even corrupting the soul."
The Mage Supre lowered her head slightly, thinking.
"So you’re saying if we rush in recklessly, we might fall into their tricks?"
The Cultivator Supre nodded slowly."Yes. Demonic cultivators rarely stay confined in one place forever."
"They always hunger for more. More land, more power, more followers."
"If they truly built a sect inside, then sooner or later, they will co out on their own."
The Hero Supre slamd his hand against the table.
"Then what do we do now? Just wait until they appear at our gates?"
The Cultivator Supre closed his eyes again, speaking calmly. "Exactly. We wait."
"When they co out, it will be our chance to see their true thods."
"Demonic cultivators cannot stay hidden forever. Their greed will force them into the open."
The room went silent.
The Supres looked at each other, each one uneasy but unwilling to be the first to make a move.
Finally, the Beastman Supre broke the silence with a sharp grin.
"Then let’s see how long they can keep hiding. When they show themselves... we’ll be ready."
