Qin Chu felt his body shiver with a start.
An elf, a real deal, a disaster for the nation, an elf indeed.
Wasn’t Adelina the Pride Witch? When did she beco so seductive? That soft, moist voice always seed to stoke the fire in Qin Chu’s chest unnoticed.
There are still two Shayes in front of him, and a Demon Princess who is about to die. It’s just too much; if any abnormal reaction occurred now, it would be the end of his social life.
The eyes of the Great Shaye were instantly wide with anger, her chest heaving rapidly.
Right now, the Great Shaye was very angry, extrely angry.
That hateful, shaless woman, Adelina, what on earth is she doing? Doesn’t she know that the position on Qin Chu’s back is hers alone?
Although she can now exist separately from Qin Chu’s body... even if she no longer needed to be in that spot, the Great Shaye would never allow any other woman to take it.
Adelina felt the burning gaze of the Great Shaye, but she was not even slightly afraid. Instead, she simply curved her lips into a small smile, even giving the Great Shaye a provocative glance across the way.
Two beauties, four pairs of eyes.
Their gazes collided mid-air.
It almost seed as if one could hear the crackling of electricity in the air.
Qin Chu shivered slightly. What is this, a chaotic scene?
In an attempt to ease the tension, Qin Chu quickly coughed softly, changing the subject, "Adelina, isn’t your soul in the process of recovering with the Little Tree Seedling?"
"It’s been a while, and it must have restored sowhat."
"Though my soul’s Strength isn’t comparable to its peak, I can still co out and stretch my legs occasionally." When her gaze shifted onto Qin Chu, Adelina’s deanor changed imdiately.
From her initial Pride, it beca a bit more playful and cute.
The fact that she was still alive was beyond Adelina’s expectations.
She thought she was beyond saving.
She assud that after her death, Qin Chu would take the Authority of Pride from her. Yet he did not do so. Instead, he absorbed her soul into his body, nurturing it carefully, allowing her to continue living in what should have been certain death.
Adelina’s life had already been filled with tumult, leaving her with practically no regrets.
Death wasn’t sothing that particularly frightened her, but as the saying goes, as long as one can live, no one wishes to die.
"I can still wield the power of the Authority of Pride to so extent," Adelina said quietly. "If you want to save this woman, I can alter her thinking."
"Of course, under the current conditions, it won’t be perfect. It will require the woman’s cooperation, and if she harbors any resistance deep inside, it will fail."
Qin Chu nodded, his mind already making calculations.
Taking two steps forward, he squatted beside Queen Atreus, looking at the weakening Demon Princess, "Princess, I am very interested in your proposal."
"But you are well aware of the difference in our statuses. You are also different from Helois and Iyeta. I don’t possess a ring to control you with."
Queen Atreus seed to see a glimr of hope for survival, for revenge.
Her chest began to heave rapidly. "Mr. Brave, I swear to offer you all of my loyalty, never to betray you, just hoping for a chance at revenge."
Her voice was weak.
And sowhat hoarse.
But the rage and hatred it contained were strong enough to give even Qin Chu the chills.
For a woman who had never felt familial affection, those slightest acts of kindness were moving, and likewise, upon discovering such kindness was a deception, her hatred would intensify.
Qin Chu shook his head slightly. "Queen Atreus, you well know that such oaths are aningless to people like us."
"I won’t keep a woman by my side who might stab in the back at any mont."
"So, if you want to live and seek your revenge, if you want to believe you, there’s only one choice: accept Adelina’s Conscious Manipulation..."
"She will alter your thoughts, your will, to ensure your utter loyalty to , ensuring you will never betray ."
"Only then can I truly believe you."
"Of course, I promise that Adelina will only modify your loyalty, nothing else. For the process to work, you need to cooperate. If there’s any resistance within you, the modification will fail, and our deal will be over."
This was not a fair trade.
To earn Qin Chu’s trust, Queen Atreus had to agree to sothing as extre as having her soul altered.
What’s worse is that while Qin Chu promised that Adelina would only adjust her loyalty and not change anything else, could that be guaranteed? What if it was just lip service from Qin Chu?
Maybe, just maybe, Qin Chu would take advantage of her full cooperation to completely rewrite Queen Atreus’s soul, turning her into his puppet.
